 One of the forthcoming names in 2024 is definitely London based Joy Anonymous."Joy (Up The Street) is still one of my favourites this period and to make double the joy they have just released "Joy (Push The Button)".The track was originally a bootleg but after the Sugababes themselves heard it, they loved it so much that they gave the official release the green light.This official rework of 00's Sugababes banger is expected to blast at least the Uk charts and is one of the few new releases this week that will have a duration the next weeks.Not far from Joy Anonymous being very prestigious..

 My initial view about "Houdini" hasn't change and so far the chart performance for the song is rather poor if you add the promotion mechanism and the radio support for an artist like Dua Lipa today.I think that it won't be long till a second single will pop out but the last act for this single will be a pack of remixes.The first one came in my hands today from a producer who doesn't make often remixes, Adam Port.He takes out a lot of the drum machines from the original and adds a different background that i think i like it better this way.Let's see who else will be involved on the remix package...

 He’s still just Ken, but now he has his own EP. In addition to dropping a new festive version of "I’m Just Ken"  Ryan Gosling and Mark Ronson have released two additional remixes of the Oscar-nominated song on Ken the EP. After the success of Barbie this past summer, Ronson reconnected with Gosling and conceptualized multiple new versions of Ken’s big song.After recording, they realized how Christmasy the song sounded and got together to get it out just in time for the holiday season.  I love Jimmy Fallon cause he is multi-talented and one of his talents is singing.I avoided the Christmas songs till now but we are in the heat week and "Wrap Me Up" seems like a nice choice for today.The "Tonight Show" host and Megan Trainor have released this one several weeks back and as expected it's among the top choices for a brand new festive song this week (the other one is Cher's entry for X-Mas).So if you have to wrap up some gifts anytime soon this is the right song for it.We will probably see it again charting sometime next year again.

If Wham will be at the top it will be the first time for the ultimate Christmas song that will be a Christmas number one.Now if Sam Ryder gains this title it will be his first ever number one song."You 'Re Christmas To Me" is only avaliable from Amazon and only in the Uk, a tradition that Amazon uses for the last few years.Pogue's "Fairytale Of New York" seems that it's losing the battle for the number one spot but the number 3 position is certainly the highest it ever made.Now Sam Ryder's Christmas single is a rather good festive song that will appear in future Christmas charts many times.So for now i m in favour of "Last Christmas" for the very first time Christmas number one cause it deserves it..

In the future someone will discover this song and will give it the proper success it deserves.The obly reason why "Obe Of Your Girls" wasn't a global hit was the name Troye Sivan.Cause if it was released by the Daft Punk or The Weeknd name things would have been different.Personally i believe that this song was one of the 10 best songs this year so this remix will be posted here even though it's not as good as you would expect.A remix most of the times gives a better vibe on the song but Felix Jaehn failed to make it even better.Maybe because it's perfect as it is in it's original form.

 The story on this one begins in 1986 when Donna Allen released "Serious" a Uk top 10 that year.Then in 1991 "Night In Motion" by Cubic 22 made some waves in the club charts.And in 1994 Strike borrowed the vocals from "Serious" and the synths from "Night In Motion" to create "U Sure Do" a dance banger that everyone remembers if you have lived that year among the clubbers.And just before the year ends in demand duo Borai & Denham Audio comes up with "Make Me" bring back in the best way Strike's anthem.Now add Franky Rizardo on one of the remixes and the result is probably something you will not get rid off easily from your mind...

 Since 2019 they are smoking cigarettes while we are waiting for a new album by this dream pop excellent band that stole my heart ever since i heard them.They have dropped some stray singles over the past couple years most recently the pair of "Bubblegum" and "Stop Waiting" this past July.And now just before the year's end they are dropping a cover of Radiohead's "Motion Picture Soundtrack" just for our listening pleasure.It's fascinating how cigarettes after sex can transform any experience into a nostalgic, melancholic, and dreamy song. The original song by Radiohead evokes fresh feelings of sadness and hopelessness, while this version by CAS is like revisiting that sadness with a touch of acceptance, finally bidding farewell to that phase of your life. Beautiful, indeed...

 Nicki Minaj is celebrating her birthday with the release of her brand new album "Pink Friday 2".The 22-track album packs features with Drake, J. I don't know if you have to wear pink or drink a pink martini while you are listening to this album but one track that drew my attention is this one called "Everybody" with Lil Uzi Vert.We are living in a world of samples in music and this one uses a track that back in 2002 made quite an impression.It comes from the Danish group Junior Senior and the title was "Move Your Feet".This track was a number 3 hit in the Uk while sweepping the charts across Europe the same year.Seems that "Everybody" is the banger hit from this album...

 Three producers from France a whole bunch of remakes from the 80s.The last time i talked about this trio was for "Some Kind Of Kiss" a remake of Cutting Crew's "I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight.This time the iconic Supreme's "You Keep Me Hanging On" from 1967 that became an 80s anthem when Kim Wilde covered it is their choice.Bringing such classics into today is many times fun to hear especially from these guys which they are very well known in their home country.At some point they will go international cause they worth it.

TOM GRENNAN - DRIVING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS

 Christmas frenzy creates strange records on the charts like the one Brenda Lee just did.Not only went number one on Billboard this week with "Rocking Around The Christmas Tree" at the age of 79 but now she has the longest gap between release and date of hitting the song number one (63 years).I just saw a video of Brenda Lee bursting into tears when that was announced to her.There are several Christmas standard songs that every year return to the charts or being covered by artists and "Driving Home For Christmas" is one of them.The Chris Rea classic from 1986 now is being covered by Tom Grennan and strangely it hasn't appeared yet in any chart list.Like i always say the original classic is always the best but it's nice to see some beloved artists to make their effort.

 Loreen's latest single is a great pop tune but it wasn't lucky enough to get the Eurovion spotlight that's why it struggles to become a hit although it should.Now the Uk market needs a dance version suitable for the Uk clubs and Goddard made one for her.This drum n bass version is not better from the original but if the genre speaks to you somehow then check this version that at some point speeds up surprisingly.

 Feeling lost and confused in your life, then this song is a song you must check out.Multi-BRIT-nominated, double-platinum-selling South London artist Cat Burns was expected to get more hits this year but none of them did.Well it's never too late cause "Know That You' Re Not Alone" seems to have the recipe to get the chart status even at the end of 2023.It's not brillian as "Go" was but this uptempo jam reminds me in so many ways Tracy Chapman that you just can't skip the just one time play.

It's a kind of tradition in music to talk about the Christmas number one this year on both sides of the Atlantic.This year i bet that Brenda Lee with "Christmas Around The Christmas Tree" after the release of the original video for the song after so many years will give her the long awaited number one in the USA.On the other side the passing of The Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan will definitely make "Fairytale Of New York" the certain X-mas number one this year.Till then Mariah Carey's "All I Want..." and Wham's "Last Christmas" will visit the number one spot each, on both sides this week but won't stay there for long as it seems.Enough with these two Christmas anthems and the streaming phenomenon...

Now this week week we had the release of Pink's latest album in the deluxe version with three new songs in it."All Out Of Fight" is her brand new single with the singer being herself once more as we know and love.Good song but Pink's days of charting high seems to belong to a previous generation...

 Lana Del Rey has just shared a surprise one-off cover of the John Denver standard "Take Me Home, Country Roads".This 1971 classic is a country song but in Lana's style with flourishes of emotions throughout the track.In 2024, Del Rey could pick up her first Grammy win. She’s up for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Alternative Music Performance, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Best Alternative Music Album. The nominations are largely for "Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd" and the single "A&W".Country music in 2023 was so huge in the States and i m curious to see if this will continue in 2024.
