LANA DEL REY - FIRST LIGHT

 This is the first time in a long time that i hear a different song from Lana Del Rey and the reason is.....James fucking Bond. Many musicians have recorded James Bond theme songs which never saw the light of day and this one is one of them.Lana Del Rey previously recorded a song for the film "Spectre" but the track was rejected by the Bond producers.It was Daniel Craig’s fourth outing as Bond however, she lost out to Sam Smith.Now, she’s getting a second stab at the Bond theme, with "First Light", which serves as the theme track to the upcoming James Bond video game "007: First Light".This sounds definitely as a Bond theme and also marks the first time in a long time that i will add a Lana Del Rey in my current playlist.There's some kind of light that she can sing something different...

LANA DEL REY - WHITE FEATHER HAWK TAIL DEAR

 Whatever crap comes to her mind she releases it.Just because she is Lana Del Rey that doesn't mean that i m forced to tolerate that rubbish to my ear more than once.I normally wouldn't blog this song but it's a nice way to focus my anger on her.For years now she releases songs that are in the same mood, same pattern and there is still an audience that likes them."White Feather Hawk Tail Dear" is part of her new album "Stove" to be released late May early June.I leave this to fans i m not gonna hear it again or pay to see her live in any concert just to hear her early interesting stuff.Maybe this is a kind of art i really can't understand.

 After hearing this one i m pretty sure that you will want more Lana, more remixes, more electronic versions from Del Rey's songs which i m pretty sure that in the future many djs will experiment with."Art Deco" from 2015 album "Honeymoon" gets the electronic treatment by Parov Stelar making her sound like on a production by Daft Punk or The Justice.This is really an "artifact" for music collectors that needs to be kept as a precious treasure.

 As "Henry Come On" was the first taste from Lana Del Rey's brand new album in less than a week we have another one.And as if Easter mood wasn't enough "Bluebird" comes on to fit perfectly on this day.With vocals that highlight the sensitivity and depth of Del Rey's performance the song is intimate, skeletal, and almost too quiet at some parts.The song’s production is airy and ethereal, layered with light pillowy synths, distant Deep South guitars soaked in reverb, flooded with strings and the trickle of piano.More or less i m bored and not in the mood...

 Lana Del Rey has just shared a surprise one-off cover of the John Denver standard "Take Me Home, Country Roads".This 1971 classic is a country song but in Lana's style with flourishes of emotions throughout the track.In 2024, Del Rey could pick up her first Grammy win. She’s up for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Alternative Music Performance, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Best Alternative Music Album. The nominations are largely for "Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd" and the single "A&W".Country music in 2023 was so huge in the States and i m curious to see if this will continue in 2024.

After all the dance version of "Summertime Sadness" was a huge success and one of her biggest chart singles.This transformation by Anyma will have a huge recieve without a doubt putting Lana Del Rey once more in the world of dance music that suits her.

Try something else.That's it and  i m also pretty sure that her fans doesn't want her to change in anything.There are many fans, vinyl collectors and music lovers out there that buy Lana but not stream her music.So apart from her albums Lana Del Ray is not on the single charts.Now next week, Lana Del Rey is releasing a new album, "Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd".So far she released two songs from that album and now you have a third one to get you in the mood. The song was co-written with Mike Hermosa, and it features backing vocals from Melodye Perry, Pattie Howard, and Shikena Jones.I think that the first listen is very promising for your playlist and i really love the intro before it turns to another sad love song from Lana.

This week Lil Baby has 3 new songs on the Billboard top 10 with Sam Smith & Kim Petras reaching the top spot for a first week.This will not last of course since almost the entire top 10 will be occupied by Taylor Swift's new songs from "Midnights". If that happens it will be the first time in the history of Billboard so another record will break.And of course one of the songs that is among the favourites is "Snow On The Beach" with Lana Del Rey as a duet. The shout to Janet Jackson on this song was a talk about from day one with Janet posting a video hearing the song.The opening of the album is tremendous in the US making Taylor Swift a continous idol for so many years in the recording industry.

Το ζήτημα είναι κατά πόσο τα τραγούδια γίνονται συνείδηση στον κόσμο και αποκτούν μία διαχρονικότητα. Εν πάση περιπτώση η Lana κυκλοφόρησε και το νέο single του album το οποίο είναι το "White Dress".  H Lana Del Rey είναι εγκλωβισμένη στο ύφος της και δεν τολμά να κάνει κάτι διαφορετικό από αυτά που έκανε. Αυτό είναι ίσως και το μεγαλύτερο μείον της άσχετα αν μας αρέσει το υφάκι αυτό. Περιμένει ενδεχομένως από κάποιους djs να την κάνουν πιο χορευτική ή δεν ξέρω τι άλλο. Το "Chemtrails Over The Country Club" είναι το ομώνυμο τραγούδι του νέου της album το οποίο αποτελεί και το πρώτο single. Το νωχελικό ύφος είναι παρόν και εδώ και όσοι πιστοί προσέλθετε. Μας αρέσει η Lana αλλά ταυτόχρονα προσωπικά θα μιλήσω βαρέθηκα κιόλας...

 Πάμε πίσω στα 30's με την Lana Del Rey να ηχογραφεί την δική της διασκευή στο υπερ classic του Gershwin. Απ ότι έχει δηλώσει και η ίδια έχει έτοιμο ένα album γεμάτο από διασκευές σε classics και ίσως αυτό εδώ να είναι μέρος του ή προάγγελός του.Επίσης η Lana είναι συνδεδεμένη με την λέξη summertime αλλά και τους ήχους του καλοκαιριού (ας μην ξεχνάμε πως στο νότιο ημισφαίριο έχουμε καλοκαίρι) οπότε είναι απόλυτα φυσιολογική συνέπεια μία τέτοια επιλογή-διασκευή.

Βαριέμαι βαριέμαι βαριέμαι.... Άρχισε πάλι τα ίδια και δεν είναι καλό. Ναι είναι ιδιαίτερη ναι έχει το δικό της στυλ αλλά βρε παιδί μου αυτή η κλαψομουνίαση και επανάληψη μου θυμίζει αυτά που γράφω για διάφορα genres. Είχε κάνει μία προσπάθεια με κάποια τραγούδια στο προηγούμενο album της να κάνει μία αλλά γή αλλά με το νέο της single επέστρεψε στα ίδια.Είναι το πρώτο single από το νέο της album και αν είσαι σε καλό mood πρόσεξε μην το χάσεις. Εγώ τα είπα μια φορά..

Το reboot του Charlie's Angels είναι από τα κινηματογραφικά highlights της χρονιάς και όπως είναι φυσικό το theme song αναμενόταν να είναι εντυπωσιακό τουλάχιστον στα χαρτιά. Έτσι το line up Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus και Lana Del Rey είναι από μόνο του κράχτης. Την όποια επιτυχία γνωρίσει το "Don't Call Me Angel" θα την θεωρήσω δυσανάλογη με την πραγματική αξία του τραγουδιού αφού η σύνθεση είναι εντελώς συνηθισμένη και δεν έχει κάτι το αξιομνημόνευτο εκτός από τις συμμετέχουσες...

Δύο νέα singles απελευθερώνει η Lana Del Rey μέσα από το νέο της album και το ένα από αυτά είναι το "Fuck It I Love You". Δεν μπορεί κανείς να πει πως η Lana Del Rey δεν έχει το δικό της μοναδικό στυλ το οποίο υποστηρίζει πιστά όλα αυτά τα χρόνια. Βέβαια κάποιες φορές μπορεί να είναι κουραστικό σε κάποιους όπως σε εμένα λόγου χάριν αλλά έχει και τις εξαιρετικές στιγμές της που σε κάνουν στο τέλος να λες "Fuck It I Love Her"...
