 What is it that makes all the 80's songs to revive in different ways and forms into today? Have you ever wondered why is it so difficult to have new timeless songs? If you look back into the 80's you can find a thousand of songs that leaved their mark into music but in the past 2 decades we have only 5-10 songs per year that manage to do so. Back in the 80's we had only few genres but today we have hundreds with a copy paste attitude. Back in the 80's almost every week we had at least 3-4 new songs into the top 10 based on sales or radio plays but now the charts are as solid as a rock with streaming based rules.

The fact that songs like "I Was For Loving You" are so familiar and timeless success is a good start for someone to make a cover or use it as a sample. Back in the days rock groups like Kiss could release a mega dance hit but today is a privilege only among the djs. This song was released back in 1979 from the "Dynasty" Kiss album and it was a classic dance track throughout the 80's and beyond that. Oliver Heldens didn't have the chance to live that period but Nile Rodgers not only did but he was one of those who shaped it. Together they revive this classic that is less the electrifying original but it's a good reason for youngsters to get in touch with another classic.Time for me to touch the original 12 inch vinyl from Kiss and i leave you with this new release...

PURPLE DISCO MACHINE & SOPHIE AND THE GIANTS - IN THE DARK (OLIVER HELDENS EXTENDED REMIX)

 I always wonder what does it take for someone to make a huge success in the traditional UK and USA charts after you have proven that you have successful music in other parts of the world. For instance Purple Disco Machine is huge in central Europe like Germany and his songs always receive positive reviews. The djs in Uk are trying with their remixes to adjust the enviroment so songs like "In The Dark" to get more attention but that doesn't mean they make it better. Oliver Heldens takes on "In The Dark" dicreasing a bit the disco feeling and not everyone wants that. But some they want to...Oh well!!

CALVIN HARRIS ft TOM GRENNAN - BY YOUR SIDE (OLIVER HELDENS REMIX)

 Calvin Harris has another Top 10 in the Uk charts with Tom Grennan on vocals which is his third time in a very short period. I wasn't impressed when i first heard "By Your Side" and i m not still. I was expecting the remixes to change my point of view and the Moti remix was absolutely wrong.And now comes the Oliver Heldens remix to make things just a little bit interesting. It's not a great tool for the djs but it's a tool you can easily use.Therefore i ll suggest you to take a listen and judge for yourself. Let's wait to see if another one will be much better..

 Ένα από τα τραγούδια που μετράνε σαν κυκλοφορία από το περασμένο καλοκαίρι και απ ότι φαίνεται ήθελε τον χρόνο του για να ξεχωρίσει είναι το "Heat Waves" των Glass Animals. H βρετανική μπάντα αυτή την περίοδο έχει ιδιαίτερη απήχηση σε Αυστραλία και Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες με το τραγούδι να είναι σε ανοδική πορεία σε όλους τους τομείς. Στα πλαίσια λοιπόν του "σπρωξίματος" εκ νέου ο Oliver Heldens του έκανε ένα νέο remix για όσους θέλουν μία dance version του συγκεκριμένου.

OLIVER HELDENS & PARTY PUPILS ft MAX - SET ME FREE

 Μερικές φορές κάποιες από τις νέες κυκλοφορίες είναι τόσο φρέσκες που δεν βρίσκετε κάποιο preview τις πρώτες ώρες της ανάρτησης τους αλλά μετά από το update στο blog θα έχετε την ευκαιρία να τις ακούτε. Οι υπόλοιποι ξέρετε που θα βρίσκετε το audio...Μα φυσικά στην σελίδα του Sound Fist στο Facebook με την χρήση του αντίστοιχου password φυσικά. Αυτά για τους νέους αναγνώστες οι παλιοί τα ξέρετε.

Τώρα το "Set Me Free" είναι η νέα παραγωγή του Oliver Heldens από τους πιο γνωστούς παραγωγούς της dance ανά την υφήλιο. Βέβαια αυτό δεν σημαίνει πως φτιάχνει πάντοτε αριστουργήματα όπως και αυτό το οποίο είναι συμπαθητικό στο άκουσμα αλλά μέχρι εκεί..

SOLARDO & PAUL WOOLFORD ft PAMELA FERNANDEZ - TEAR IT UP ( OLIVER HELDENS EXTENDED REMIX)

 Οι Solardo είναι από τα συνεχώς ανερχόμενα ονόματα στην club σκηνή με τις δουλειές τους είτε είναι remixes που φτιάχνουν για άλλους είτε δικές τους παραγωγές. Από την άλλη ο Paul Woolford τα έχει καταφέρει ήδη αφού η συνεργασία του με τον Diplo όχι μόνο έγινε Top 10 στην Βρετανία αλλά θα έχει και ανοδική πορεία ως ένα από τα dance anthems της χρονιάς που εμείς θα ακούμε μάλλον από τα Χριστούγεννα και μετά. Για τον Oliver Heldens που έκανε το remix στο "Tear It Up" τα ξέρετε εδώ και χρόνια. Σε σχέση με το original που είναι λίγο rough αυτό είναι πιο light και κατ επέκταση πιο mainstream. Αλλά γούστα είναι αυτά ανάλογα με τον καθένα..

OLIVER HELDENS ft BOY MATTHEWS - DETAILS (TENSNAKE REMIX)

Όπως θα ανακοινώσει αύριο το Billboard το "Trollz" του 6IX9INE μαζί με την Nicki Minaj θα βρεθεί κατευθείαν στην κορυφή "ξεπληρώνοντας τον έτσι για όλον τον θόρυβο που είχε δημιουργηθεί με το πρώτο single και την διαμαρτυρία του γιατί δεν είχε βρεθεί στην κορυφή. Αξιοσημείωτο είναι πως η Nicki Minaj αποκτά έτσι το δεύτερο νούμερο ένα στην καριέρα της και μάλιστα σε λιγότερο από έναν μήνα ενώ είχε 10 και πλέον χρόνια στην δισκογραφία χωρίς να το έχει πετύχει. Τα charts αποτυπώνουν πολλές φορές μία λανθασμένη εντύπωση των επιτυχιών το έχω ξαναπεί ενώ την επόμενη εβδομάδα ίσως βρεθεί και εκτός δεκάδας.
Ας πάμε όμως σε κάτι που ακούγεται τουλάχιστον πιο ευχάριστα από εμένα και είναι το remix του Tensnake ο οποίος έχει επανέλθει πολύ δυναμικά στο "Details" του Oliver Heldens. Μία disco πινελιά που ποτέ δεν κουράζει όσα χρόνια και αν περάσουν..

OLIVER HELDENS - TAKE A CHANCE

Που πάνε και βρίσκουν τα samples όλοι αυτοί για να μεταποιήσουν και να φτιάξουν κάτι καινούργιο. Γιατί κόψε ράψε είναι η μουσική σήμερα και ειδικά στην dance σκηνή. Έτσι ο Oliver Heldens χρησιμοποιεί το "Take A Chance" των Material για να φτιάξει την δική του "ευκαιρία" και να την σερβίρει στα dancefloors. Και αν η αίσθηση που σου αφήνει είναι Abba θα σου πω πως και σε εμένα την ίδια αφήνει. Είναι μία ενδιαφέρουσα πρόταση για τους djs που μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί και από τα radios σχετικά εύκολα...
