LIL UZI VERT ft NICKI MINAJ - ENDLESS FASHION

 For various reasons whether it's the "Barbie" movie or Lil Uzi Vert's brand new album pink is the color of the year."Pink Tape" is the name of the album and "Endless Summer" with Nicki Minaj is the single that stands out for now worldwide.Once more Eiffel 65's "I m Blue" is used as a sample making it the number one influencial song of the year while Nicki Minaj is literally everywhere these days.Her "Barbie" new single with Ice Spice is expected to debut in Billboard's top 10 next week and probably this one will give her another top 10 in 15 days from now.Lil Uzi Vert's brand new album has huge collabs in it with Travis Scott, Bring Me The Horizon among others and a certain number one album is on the way.

KYLIE MINOGUE - PADAM PADAM (JAX JONES REMIX)

 "Padam Padam" took a whole new meaning out there and became Kylie's biggest hit in years and still growing.One of the ways to push the singles sales is the remixes and right now we are in that phase.I don't think that the Jax Jones remix is the best that could have been released but i believe there will be some more in the near future.This rave feeling of "Padam Padam" is a trending option but something bothers me compared with the original edit.

 This week's major new releases are tragic and i ll have to dig a little deeper in order to keep the blog warm enough when it comes to music.Olivia Rodrigo's return was a big anticipation for many and now that it's here i can finally make a verdict.Half ballad half uptempo it creates an interesting enviroment that could work once again.This is how modern pop sounds like and this is what young people prefer to make hits most of the times.Her brand new album will be released on September 8 and "Vampire" looks like it could create the right buzz for it.

 On July 14 Rita Ora will release her brand new album "You And I" while her latest single "Praising You" with Fatboy Slim is trying hard to become something more than a minor hit.These are hard times for pop music as we know it and singles like her brand new "Don't Think Twice" has minimum chances to become something more than a new pop release.Fans will probably enjoy it but that's it.

FALL OUT BOY - WE DIDN'T START THE FIRE

 Sometimes i wonder what would happen if 80s music never existed in music.So many references,covers, samples in order to get attention cause let's be honest music nowdays sounds less and the good songs are off the radar most of the times.Billy Joel’s 1989 Number one hit, "We Didn’t Start The Fire", includes brief references to 118 significant political, cultural and scientific events between the years of Joel’s birth in 1949 and the song’s release in 1989.It was his last number one hit and today ( Fall Out Boy shared a modernised version of the track, replacing the original lyrics with standout events from where the song left off in 1989 to 2023.Although it's hard for me to hear this version cause i love the original i have to point out this release cause things in music are getting more and more less interesting.

FALLING IN REVERSE - LAST RESORT (REIMAGINED)

 This blog doesn't exclude any genre and that has been proven over the years.Fresh off their first-ever (and sold-out) performance at New York City's Madison Square Garden, Falling In Reverse have shared their cover of Papa Roach's "Last Resort".Now i m not sure if the fans of the original will all love this emotional piano led cover but in my ears sounds great.The building up and the power vocals turns the aggressive nu-metal banger as a melancholy piano ballad.Also the reimagined version has Papa Roach blessings so the choice is up to the listeners.

 Paris Avenue is a Belgian house project, created in 2004 by Danny C (Danny Corten) and Mark Carpentier.Dj F.R.A.N.K is also from Belgium and together created this dance anthem based on a melody that many remember because it comes from a band and an album that made history back in 1985."Your Latest Trick" was the fifth and final single from Dire Straits "Brothers In Arms" with a sax melody that never fades no matter what.This iconic sax riff it's what Paris Avenue and Dj Frank are using on this release and it's one of the best throw backs that i ve heard so far this year.

 Now someone should definitely get off the meds cause this is a sick remix on one of the 90s biggest hits.Since the 90s are back in music in every possible way there are going to be more to come till the end of the year.Now the 1992 reggae pop mega hit by Ace Of Bass got a superb remix by Axel Boman and Off The Meds to revive this classic in the summer of 2023.Glad for the riddim touch and the approach in general as a remix should do in classics..

 I don't know about the movie but i do know that the ost has so much hype like few soundtracks had this year.Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice are officially Barbie girls in a Barbie world!Their collaboration "Barbie World" reimagining the original song, "Barbie Girl" released by Aqua 25 years ago."Barbie World" is the fourth single from Barbie the Album, following Dua Lipa’s "Dance the Night" Karol G’s "Watati" and PinkPantheress’ "Angel" The soundtrack and movie are out on Friday, July 21.The song uses as a sample the original song while the girls are rapping in a Barbie world.Is it any good?Well i m not really impressed but the hype is huge.

 The voice remains the same but in this picture for her brand new single she is hardly recognizable.I m talking about Gwen Stefani who's her comeback single "True Babe" just came in.The Holla Back Girl seems to get in touch with her No Doubt inner self on this one which gave me a very good impression with the first listen.Although young people will consider her as their mom "True Babe" is a really good song that deserves to become a hit and take it's place at radios.Fingers crossed Stefani seems to have plenty to offer in music.

 Pump up the volume cause David Guetta returns the favour to Coi Leray for her vocals by releasing together a future hit which is using one of the most iconic dance tracks of the late 80s."Pump Up The Jam" by Technotronic is still producing adrenaline heights and a rapid body movement so Guetta with his skills slowed it down and Coi Leray raps on it paying tribute to this dance classic on "Make My Day".Well to tell you the truth it instantly made mine the first time i heard it.It seems that Coi will make another monster hit with a heavily sampled single.

TIESTO - DRIFTING

Lately i notice that there are 3 regions in the world of different music that doesn't necessarily connect or better they are almost totally different.In the USA, country music rap, latin, soul with a lately addition of Mexican music is what gets the success.Almost none of them cross to Europe.In Europe and in the Uk we have many genres with dance, alternative pop, domestic rap,electronic music etc share big parts of the chart hits.Only few cross the Atlantic and get attention there.In south America latin music rule all charts and supply the world with latin stars.In general that's the situation with new music being indifferent to people most of the times.

Now Tiesto along with David Guetta are the two crossover djs that take the worldwide attention with every release.They also compete on how many new songs they will release every month throughout the year.While Tiesto's latest album is still producing singles this one comes as an addition to his list of productions."Drifting" with Poppy Baskcomb on vocals will be weaponized by djs this summer and you will meet with it somewhere, somehow....in summertime.

DON DIABLO - STOP LOVING YOU (EXTENDED MIX)

 The year was 1988 and one of the greatest bands ever (for me) released "Stop Loving you" as a single.The band was Toto and the vocals on this one was by Jon Anderson lead singer by Yes.Not every dance cover is a proper way to get familiar with the original but it's always an opportunity for some music history lessons.In this case dj-producer Don Diablo tries to revive this classic in a dance way that doesn't give me the right ammount of joy hearing it.There is always the comparison reason that holds me back everytime something like this comes up.For educational reasons you should try it and make your own opinion.

 Since many good songs don't get the succes that they deserve it was a surprise that "In The Dark" was a crossover hit in Europe except the Uk.And since a winning team doesn't change it was only natural for Purple Disco Machine to repeat the collaboration with Sophie And The Giants.The only disadvantage hearing "Paradise" is that it's damn similar to "In The Dark".Apart that this is going definitely gonna be on my summer playlist cause you just can't miss "Paradise".

 Doja Cat hasn’t released new music since "Vegas" last year, the buzzy song for Baz Luhrman’s "Elvis" soundtrack.Well the new era starts as if from now with her brand new single "Attention". A permeating boom bap beat and with a nu soul attitude, Doja Cat follows the Sza sound on this one cause it works for now and has a freshness by all means.If you ask me if it's gonna draw too much "attention" i ll say that it will probably work more in the States and less in Europe.Interesting release..

 It was more than obvious that the new collab between Shouse and David Guetta "Live Without Love" wouldn't work this time.After two very succesful hits in a row Australian duo Shouse released some weeks ago this one and the reaction was a total disaster.So what it needed was some remixes to save this release and David Guetta as part of this song made some significant changes in order to make "Live Without Love" a summer dj choice.This extended remix is much better than the original but still there is a lot of elements missing in order to become a hit.

 The easiest way to cause an attention is to use a mega hit from the past.This time Dutch trio Kris Kross Amsterdam are using Bellini's "Sampa Di Janeiro" that used also a sample from Airto Moreira's 1974 song "Tombo in 7/4".The music history and how it's being recycled is fascinating.For this release the Dutch trio recruited latin superstar Sofia Reyes and a rap verse from English rapper Tinie Tempah.The result is rather summer-ish and is called "How You Sampa".Need something more for a summer mood?

 One way or another the songs by La Bouche are being rediscovered this year.90's mega Eurodance duo La Bouche had global hits with songs like "Be My Lover" and this one called "Sweet Dreams".I really can't believe i m making an info for them and their hits since young people probably never heard of them.La Bouche was founded in 1994 by record producer Frank Farian and since 90s dance music has returned it was only natural to refresh this monster hit from that year.Italian dj Paolo Pellegrino is responsible for this rather infectious new edit of the song and i guess it will make some waves this summer once again.
