LYKKE LI - LUCKY AGAIN

 I don't need to hear the rest of the new releases this week in order to assume that the brand new Lykke Li single is one of the best maybe for the whole month.Don't expect new releases from big names this week but sometimes good songs comes from places you least expected.On May the Swedish songstress will release her brand new album "The Afterparty" and "Lucky Again" serves as the first single.When a song from the very first moment grabs you and keeps you captivated all through till end then you know you got a e favourite.Not to mention that "Lucky Again" could be a radio trend instanlyunless you got a bad taste i music.

ILLENIUM ft ELLIE GOULDING - DON'T WANT YOUR LOVE

 Illenium is a quite big name mostly in the Usa even though dance music is one of the less popular genres in the country.His sixth studio album "Odyssey" has been released and this pairing with Ellie Goulding has been released as a single.The album features moody melodic house, rock fusion, drum n bass, and his classic, cathartic melodic bass.The album is full with collaborations with names such as with Alna, Alok, Bastille, Bring Me The Horizon, Dabin, Dean Lewis, Elley Duhé, Emmy, Hayla, Kid Cudi to name few."Don't Want Your Love" is a rather trance radio friendly jam that could really work if it was given a chance.

FISHER - RAIN

MT JONES - I DON'T UNDERSTAND

 I do understand and i also know that there is plenty of good music out there but it's difficult to reach our ears unless you search music like i do.For instance "I Don't Understand" by MT Jones is a song that  blends the warmth of 60s and 70s soul with a contemporary garnish and a jazzy undercurrent.The song is taken from MT Jones upcoming album "Joy" out in March proving that there are still artists out there who made music like they used to.An MT Jones gem and a feel good Brit soul at its best.

SOUND OF LEGEND ft SIKS - VOYAGE VOYAGE

 After last night's Super Bowl Bad Bunny - mania is at it's peak and will last for two or three more days with many of his singles topping the charts around the world.That's what happens every year and it's only natural caused by the event.And as we are waiting for this tsunami to stop i will take you to this French Guy who calls himself Sound Of Legend known for his 80s/90s dance cover versions.This time together with Siks on vocals he brings back Desireless's 1989 mega European hit "Voyage Voyage" that even today still sounds great.This music project visibly represented by the masked superhero character named Zach, has over 600 million streams, focusing on radio-friendly, hook-heavy, and club-oriented remixes and it's very successful in France.Can't resist it really...

The first collaboration between Myles Smith and ex One Direction member Niall Horan was released this week marking the first Smith single for 2026."Drive Safe" is built around the idea that life will inevitably throw curveballs and present obstacles, but those moments are manageable when you have the right people around you.The message seems to be working so far since the downloads in the Uk are pretty good and all it needs is the streaming factor to enter the top 10.This summer, Myles Smith will join Ed Sheeran as the main support for his US tour and "Drive Safe" will be on the playlist for sure and maybe be dueting with Sheeran too.Folk-pop-rock is currently trending but not really my thing...

MORRISSEY - NOTRE-DAME

 Morrissey over the years he transormed himself from the iconic The Smiths singer to a controversial personality that often provokes the common sense.And that's what he does on his new single "Notre-Dame".The mid-paced indie-rock track, dominated by a wobbling synth line, was inspired by the tragic fire of the historical Parisian cathedral on April 15, 2019 and in it he notably omits a controversial lyric relating to terrorism that he sang live.That part in which he sings: "Before investigations/They said, ‘It’s not terrorism" once again caused criticism makes the second single to be taken from Morrissey’s forthcoming album "Make-Up Is A Lie" quite noticable this week.The album drops on March 6 and this song is actually quite good.

 Classics keep coming back in various ways are becoming more and more often even in the original versions."Upside Down" by Diana Ross came back due the final season of the "Stranger Things" and now a tech house reimagining was released this week by the one and only David Guetta and multitalented DJ and producer Jaden Bojsen from Los Angeles.As a frontman, Jaden and his US boy band New District were awarded the Golden Theme 2016 as the most popular boy band by BRAVO magazine.Jaden has played at some of the best nightclubs and festivals all over Europe, Asia and the US and this is not the first time he collaborates with master Guetta.In 2024 they released "Let’s Go" and now this one. SOMBR - HOMEWRECKER

 It's very difficult many times to make a true estimate on a single unless you let time to work on it. So at first i m not too enthusiastic nor disappointed on the new Sombr single.What i felt with "Undressed" from the very first moment didn't happen here.That doesn't change the fact that i think he is very talented and "Homewrecker" might prove me wrong (well sort of).This is his first new song and music video of the year and it explores the messiness of love, especially when you love someone who isn’t yours.His European tour is already sold out while once again, SOMBR is the sole writer and co-producer of his latest song, underscoring the weight of this talent. In addition to his Best New Artist GRAMMY nomination, he’s currently up for two prestigious BRIT Awards: International Artist of the Year, and International Song of the Year for "Undressed".

CALVIN HARRIS & KASABIAN - RELEASE THE PRESSURE

 At first look it's another bizzare collaboration but in dance music anything can happen even Calvin Harris inviting the Kasabian for his new single.The Scotish dj and producer has the access to bring on abyone providing the vocals for a new single and this join single is likely more a surprise for the Kasabian.Dancing is one way to "Release The Pressure" and after hearing the song it will probably work.I won't call it a banger yet but sounds like it can very well be.Calvin Harris needs his first hit in 2026 and this is a good choice for finding it.

 A Frank Ocean's "Channel Orange" cult-favorite is making waves in dance music right now coming as Vintage Culture and Gabss spin on "Lost".Their melodic interpretation of Frank Ocean’s 2012 single takes a dance/electronic update creating a wavy, head-bob-inducing rendition equally suited for live sets and headphones.Not many from the dance scene are finding their way to mainstream charts but in their own domestic list of success this one is one of the most popular right now.

 In the recent past Lola Young made a huge hit with something equal brilliant as this "Fabulous" release by Meek.This girl a crossover to Chapell Roan and Lola Young releases her debut single and makes an instant impact with "Fabulous" with references themes of heartbreak, self-presentation and recovery, drawing on British humour and queer nightlife.Meek is described as a self-made artist whose work is informed by working-class experience and personal trauma.  Once again Tik Tok is creating another hit that normally wouldn't see the light of the charts not because it's not good but because this genre is long lost from the catalogue of popular hits.In a way even so trending sounds like this one is bringing audience closer to good music with instruments like it used to be before.Jerry's Sound Room is a popular musical project specializing in 1950s-style soul, blues, and bolero, characterized by a husky, emotional, and vintage vocal style. With over 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify and 100K+ YouTube subscribers, the artist produces music focused on intimate, late-night, and romantic vibes."Beneath My Skin" sounds a lot like "Unchained Melody" by The Righteous Brothers, characterized by raw, emotional vocals and a nostalgic, moody atmosphere reminiscent of a "smoky midnight bar".I m glad that a "blues" song gets popular even if it's through social media...
