MARTIN GARRIX & U2 - FIREFLIES

 First with Madonna now with U2, Martin Garrix is declared the dj with the biggest collaborations this year.His relationship with U2 goes back several years. In 2021, Bono and The Edge were featured artists on "We Are The People" the official anthem for UEFA EURO 2020, while later that year Martin Garrix co-produced, mixed, and mastered "Your Song Saved My Life" which was included on the soundtrack for the film "Sing 2".Now i don't know if you will see "Fireflies" by listening to the song but my personal opinion is that this is above the average good for what it is.The song made its world premiere on July 17, as the finale of Martin Garrix's headline set on the festival's main stage in Boom, Belgium. In one of the biggest surprises of the night, The Edge took to the stage to perform the song's signature guitar lines live, while Bono's voice was heard over pre-recorded vocals, giving the audience one of the most talked-about moments of this year's festival.The song moves between pop, rock and dance electronic music and that equals to a big stadium crowd pleaser."Fireflies" is a hit!!!

U2 - STREET OF DREAMS

 Some decide to walk these streets in order to have something to expect.Others avoid them like hell cause feeling disappointed in the end is something they can't tolerate.Either way U2 know these streets and they offer you their locations on their brand new single.The streets are not the only thing that has no name and "Street of Dreams", the first single from the band's yet-to-be announced studio album, is out now.Their brand new studio album will be their first in 9 years and is due for release later this year.The music video for "Street of Dreams" was shot in Mexico City in May near Plaza Santo Domingo gathering a huge crowd of fans despite inclement weather, with thunder and rain unexpectedly causing a generator to crash and a local family welcoming the four band members into their apartment to film on the balcony.This September will celebrate 50 years since the band's formation after Larry posted a handwritten note which read "Drummer seeks musicians to form band'' on the school noticeboard at Dublin's Mount Temple Comprehensive.And since that day they remain one of the biggest bands this planet has ever encounter.

U2 ft ED SHEERAN & TARAS TOPOLIA - YOURS ETERNALLY

 Yes as if from now this one is going to be "Yours Eternally" and it's a surprise collaboration that no one expected.Ed Sheeran appears on U2’s new EP, "Days of Ash", which was released, fittingly, on Ash Wednesday. It includes five new songs and a poem. Sheeran features on a track called "Yours Eternally" and you can hear him on the second verse.On the track is featured also an Ukrainian musician named Taras Topolia, who leads a band called Antytila. Taras, who became a soldier following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, inspired "Yours Eternally" which is written in the form of a letter from a soldier on active duty.Also on Feb. 24 will see the release of a 4 1/2-minute "Yours Eternally" documentary, which was filmed in December in Ukraine. Feb. 24 will mark the fourth anniversary of Russian’s invasion of the country.

U2 - ATOMIC CITY (DAVID GUETTA EXTENDED REMIX)

 Noone needs any introduction here.Co-existing U2 with David Guetta is a headline by itself.Following 2024 Grammy Awards Sphere Performance this remake of the song comes as the group is preparing to wrap-up its Las Vegas residency.Not sure that i really like this remix all i know is that i do like the original version.This is my opinion but you will soon get yours after hearing this pulsting remix by Guetta.

 U2 have nothing to prove and they don't need to."Atomic City" produced by Jacknife Lee and Steve Lillywhite, is out today ahead of the band’s first U2:UV Achtung Baby Live show at the futuristic MSG Sphere venue in Las Vegas. The song is a tribute to Vegas, and U2 performed it in the city’s downtown area during a music video shoot two weeks back."Atomic City" was a nickname for Vegas in the 1950s due to its proximity to the Nevada Test Site at a time when nuclear fascination swept America.A statement about the song describes it as a “homage to the magnetic spirit of ’70’s post punk with a nod to Blondie, whose pioneering work with Giorgio Moroder inspired and influenced the band".Let's be thankful that the band is still making music and that they are there showing the way of what a great band is all about.

 I often say it's not important how big is a hit but how many you have and if you can past the test of time.And this band is one of the greatest bands in the world ever.A release of their biggest hits re-imagined in an album called "Songs Of Surrender" is a must have this year no matter what.So on March 17 get your hands on this album to get 40 of  U2's biggest hits but till then you can have your "Pride" the iconic 1984 song that shaped the big bang they created the years to come.This acoustic version may not have the energy of the original but it has the essence of the band which is timeless.

 The wait is over for all U2 fans cause the first new music in 3 years is here. This is a song that will be heard on the movie "Sing 2" out on Christmas day so this might be a contender for the X-mas number one (or not?). The mood of the song is more in a pure Disney soundtrack patern and far from their rock origins.The Sing ost will have 3 U2 covers "Where The Streets Have No Name" by actors Tori Kelly Taron Egarton, Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon and Nick Roll, "I Still Haven't Found What I M Looking For" a duet between Bono and Johansson and "Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Of" with Johansson.The Ost also contains music by Elton John, Billie Eilish and Pharrell Williams.Happy?

MARTIN GARRIX ft BONO & THE EDGE - WE ARE THE PEOPLE (MARTIN GARRIX REMIX)

 Φαντάζομαι οι περισσότεροι θα είδατε την πρεμιέρα του Euro με τον Martin Garrix να κάνει μία φαντασμαγορική παρουσίαση του "We Are The People" παρέα με τον The Edge στην σκηνή και τον Bono σε 3D απεικόνιση στο κέντρο του γηπέδου. Το τραγούδι φυσικά πήρε τα φώτα της δημοσιότητας που του έπρεπαν αλλά σε σχέση με άλλα official anthems άλλων διοργανώσεων δεν έχει αυτό που πρέπει. Άλλο ένα από τα περίεργα με τα νέα singles και τις εμμονές σε Olivia Rodrigo και rap...Το remix αυτό ελάχιστα διαφέρει με αυτό που είχα παρουσιάσει πριν μερικές εβδομάδες οπότε περί ορέξεως..

MARTIN GARRIX ft BONO & THE EDGE - WE ARE THE PEOPLE (EURO 2020)

 Τρία χρόνια στο συρτάρι είναι πολλά και όλα αυτά λόγω covid.To επίσημο anthem για το Euro 2020 που θα γίνει τελικά φέτος απελευθερώθηκε και είναι η συνεργασία Martin Garrix με U2 ή καλύτερα με Bono και The Edge άρα U2. Αφού τίναξε την σκόνη από πάνω του το "We Are The People" θα γίνει μέρος της ζωής μας τους επόμενους μήνες. Το τραγούδι βέβαια είναι προσαρμοσμένο στον ήχο των U2 και όχι το ανάποδο οπότε οι πιθανότητες να το δούμε ψηλά στα charts είναι μεγάλες..

Για τους συλλέκτες της μουσικής και ειδικότερα των U2 κυκλοφόρησε ένα remix Ep που ονομάζεται "The Eternal Remixes" μέσα στο οποίο έχει και αυτό εδώ το οποίο προτείνω. Δυστυχώς ούτε το remix στο "Pride" αλλά ούτε και αυτό στο "Beautiful Day" είναι άξια κριτικής πέραν της συλλεκτικότητας τους οπότε το "You Re The Best Thing About Me" στο remix αυτό του Ox7gen θα εκπροσωπήσει το Ep αυτό...

U2 & A R RAHMAN - AHIMSA

Αυτό είναι κάτι που δεν το περιμέναμε να πω την αλήθεια. Οι U2 αποφάσισαν να κυκλοφορήσουν ένα νέο τραγούδι και μάλιστα σε συνεργασία με τον "Jai Ho" A R Rahman με αφορμή τις συναυλίες τους στην Ινδία. Δεν υπάρχει ανακοίνωση προς το παρόν για νέο album πάντως αυτό είναι το πρώτο νέο τραγούδι των U2 εδώ και σχεδόν 3 χρόνια. Το "Ahimsa" δεν είναι κάτι που θα κάνει την καριέρα του group σπουδαιότερη είναι ένα αρκετά συμπαθητικό τραγούδι και το μελάνι σταματάει εκεί...

U2 - SUMMER OF LOVE (ROBIN SCHULZ EXTENDED REMIX)

Καλή εβδομάδα sounfisters..
Μπορεί οι U2 να μην έβγαλαν μέσα από το τελευταίο τους album κάποια chart επιτυχία αλλά δεν νομίζω να την χρειάζονται πια εδώ και πολύ καιρό. Γεμίζουν τόσο πολύ τα στάδια και έχουν μία τέτοια δισκογραφία που και πρεστίζ τους έχει δώσει και οικονομική εξασφάλιση για αυτούς και τα δισέγγονα τους. Είναι από τις ελάχιστες μεγαλύτερες μπάντες του πλανήτη αν όχι η μεγαλύτερη και θα συνεχίζουν να φτιάχνουν μουσική για όσο αντέχουν γιατί είναι στο αίμα τους. Το "Summer Of Love" και σαν τίτλος μόνο ταιριάζει για όσο απέμεινε από αυτό αλλά και για όσους κουβαλάνε το καλοκαίρι μέσα τους. Απλά ο Robin Schulz του έδωσε το twist εκείνο που χρειάζονται τα dancefloors αν και λίγο καθυστερημένα το οποίο θα απολαύσετε στην extended διάρκεια του. Υπάρχει καλύτερος τρόπος να ξεκινήσει η εβδομάδα στο blog;;;

U2 - GET OUT OF YOUR OWN WAY (SWITCH REMIX)

Σε πρόσφατη συνέντευξη του ο Bono δήλωσε πως το hip hop είναι ο τρόπος για να εκφράσουν σήμερα τον θυμό τους και πως γενικότερα η μουσική σήμερα ακούγεται πολύ girlie. Απόψεις με τις οποίες μπορεί να συμφωνεί ή να διαφωνεί κανείς. Εγώ πάντως είμαι με εκείνους που δήλωσαν πως το νέο album των U2 είναι πολύ καλύτερο από αυτά που μας παρουσίασαν τα τελευταία χρόνια χωρίς να διεκδικεί και τις δάφνες του καλύτερων που άκουσα φέτος.
Το remix αυτό στο "Get Out Of Your Own Way" είναι αρκετά περίεργο αλλά έχει ένα ενδιαφέρον για τα δικά μου αυτιά παρ όλο που δεν συμπαθώ και τόσο τους distortion ήχους γενικότερα. Εναλλακτική πρόταση για τους λίγο πιο προχώ...

Το "What's Going On" του Marvin Gaye είναι μία αγαπημένη διασκευή των U2 από το παρελθόν το οποίο συχνά πυκνά λένε στα live τους. Υπάρχει μάλιστα και ντουέτο τους με τον Chris Martin των Coldplay στο συγκεκριμένο. Αυτή εδώ είναι μία πρόσφατη ηχογράφηση που έκαναν για το Spotify και νομίζω πως κανένας δεν μπορεί να αντισταθεί στο να μην έχει και να ακούει ένα υπερ classic με την φωνή του Bono....

U2 - SUMMER OF LOVE

Μόλις τελείωσα την ακρόαση του νέου album των U2 "Songs Of Experience" και η γνωμάτευσή μου είναι πως είναι αρκετά καλό. Πολύ καλύτερο από αυτά που κυκλοφόρησαν τα τελευταία χρόνια. ήδη έχω διαλέξει τα αγαπημένα μου με πρώτο αυτό που ανοίγει το album "Love Is All We Have Left". Γενικά οι "ησυχες στιγμές αυτού του album είναι εξαιρετικές και αν με ρωτάς ποιο θα μπορούσε να γίνει η μεγαλύτερη επιτυχία του είναι αυτό που σου παρουσιάζω αυτή την στιγμή. Το "Summer Of Love" έχει όλα τα στοιχεία ενός classic ραδιοφωνικού U2 super hit το οποίο όποτε κυκλοφορήσει σαν single θεωρώ ότι η απήχηση που θα έχει στον κόσμο άσχετα από την θέση του στα charts θα είναι τεράστια. Άσε που είναι σαν να βλέπω τον Kygo ήδη να κάνει το remix του μαζί με κάποιους άλλους ανάλογους. HIT ALERT and a CLASSIC!!!

U2 ft KENDRICK LAMAR - GET OUT OF YOUR OWN WAY

Έχω την θεωρία πως κάποια από τα τραγούδια που βγάζουν σήμερα οι U2 αν κυκλοφορούσαν μερικές δεκαετίες πίσω θα είχαν γίνει επιτυχίες ανάλογες με τα classic τους. Αυτό ισχύει και για άλλα ονόματα και η εξήγηση που δίνω είναι πως οι εποχές έχουν αλλάξει οι πενηντάρηδες δεν αποτελούν sex symbols για τις νέες ηλικίες και πολλές άλλες παράμετροι που έχουν να κάνουν με τον τρόπο που περνάει η μουσική σήμερα. Ωστόσο το νέο τους album όταν κυκλοφορήσει στις αρχές της νέας χρονιάς θα γίνει chart topper έστω και για μία εβδομάδα γιατί όπως και να το κάνουμε οι U2 εξακολουθούν να είναι από τις μεγαλύτερες μπάντες στον πλανήτη σήμερα. Η τελευταία περιοδεία τους για το "Joshua Tree" είναι η πιο επιτυχημένη για φέτος και ξεπούλησε όπου και αν παίχτηκε.
Το νέο τους single είναι το "Get Out Of Your Own Way" είναι το νέο τους single με μία πινελιά στο τέλος από τον Κendrick Lamar και έχει την σφραγίδα τους και τον ήχο που όλοι γνωρίζουμε..
