Now let's go to the debut single from a newcomer the Australian Tom Santa. And as a Santa he may have a well good dance present for you since "Rainfall" might become one of your favourites. Centring around a sample by Mary Mary's "Shackles" the song provides bumping basslines and euphoric piano chords making your speakers full of dance vibes. This is another Australian except Luude that will have to watch over in the future..
The truth is that i had great expectations for this newly recorded version of an iconic 80's song that rules forever.Alphaville created a sound that defined the 80's and dance music and whoever lived that period like i did can never forget. "Big In Japan" was the party starter in disco dancefloors that everybody wanted to dance. The synth basslines were so unimaginable that created a culture and a significant moment in pop music. The voice of Marian Gold was unique and the band had several hits but not as big as this one.The song was taken from the "Forever Young" album and in 2022 we will have "Forever Yours" an album with their hits in symhonic versions with The German Film Orchestra Babelsberg together with some new songs in-never-before-heard symphonic versions. As for this new version of "Big In Japan" all i can say is that it's a faded version of the original as if time did what he couldn't do to the original recording.
Sofi Tukker is one of my favourite dance duos and i became a fan from the very first time i heard "Drinkee". Their contribution in dance music although they had some less interesting moments is great in general and i keep that. Theis second album "Wet Tennis" is out and the title is an acronym meaning When Everyone Tries To Evolve, Nothing Negative Is Safe. Too optimistic as their music i will say. We have already heard some great songs from it with no chart feedback but who cares. Their brand new single is "Summer In New York" a tribute to the place where all begun for them and of course there is a sample like almost everyone does. Suzanne Vega's "Tom's Diner" is giving the stigma on the song and summer is on...
The man who opened the gates of hell is back. Psy was the first one from South Korea to enter the pantheon of global artists with a mega hit to be remembered forever. In a way BTS owe him the highway he built and that's why Suga from BTS is producing his brand new single from the "Psy 9th" album."That That" doesn't stand a serious critic cause it is what it is.Psy is an entertainer and this song may be a part of a party but it doesn't have much more to offer. For a couple of days will be trending after that it's over...
Every time Justin Bieber drops a new song becomes the talk of the musical world. This time we have a collab with Don Toliver for "Honest" a brand new single that doesn't seem to gain many points in my musical scale of taste from the first listen. This may concern more the USA market rather than the rest of the world even if Justin is an international artist. In a world where 1000 sales and 1.000.000 streams anything can become a hit let's focus on what really can stand the test of time...
The message is ok but i really can't understand the musical path Sam Smith has chosen. Once more he steps on this gospel pop way for his new single "Love Me More". Should i focus to the lyrics and what it tries to achieve or if i want to listen to this one more than once?I really think that Sam Smith has to change many things if he wants to remain in pop business except if he wants through music to become an activist and serve this cause...
"The Motto" era is behind Ava Max who returns with a brand single. This 80's beat that is being used by too many lately really gets Max too.In "Maybe You 'Re The Problem" you can hear that energetic beat that has roots in Aha's "Take On Me" once more that has been used by The Weeknd, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, The Kid Laroi, Olivia Rodrigo to name a few. This patern has to come to an end at some point but for now this the sound that sells and make hits. Nice single by Ava Max but not with a global hit potential in my opinion. This is the first single and the title track of her brand new album. She is in business...
Last year Nathan Dawe made a quite breakthrough in the Uk with multiple hits. On the other hand Ella Henderson was featured on the latest David Guetta single along with Becky Hill. And since she is one of the most wanted vocalists in the Uk she couldn't say no to this collab with Dawe. This is the second time they are releasing together a single after "Lighter" in 2020. This time "21 Reasons" has a lot of potential to be a smash dance record and one of the reasons is the sample from "Destination Calabria" by Alex Gaudino. Everybody is using something and this recycled product can make it happen all over again.
David Guetta knows exactly what to do to keep his name on the front line. He takes on this Tik Tok viral anthem by Goya Menor & Nectunez to create a new dance version that has really not much more to offer. Whatever Guetta remixes for his dj sets finds the way to the market as usual and many djs around the world of course will follow. You wanna bamba with big Guetta? There you have it...
Neneh Cherry was a Brit pop icon back in the 80's creating songs that managed to conquer the music globe leaving a distinguished name in the music industry. A new album with covers of her greatest hits is about to explode very soon. The album is going to be called "The Versions" and the first version was blogged some weeks ago concerning the Robyn view of "Buffalo Stance".This is the second taste it's all about her 1989 hit "Manchild". Sia is the vocalist on this one and the hype is crazy. Personally i think that Sia should have picked another one for a cover but hey that's just me...
Two well known names in the dance scene are collaborating for another summer dance anthem. This euphoric house anthem can only grow the fame Vintage Culture is building since 2021 and become a staple in any dj set. Goodboys on the other hand after the success with Meduza are trying to establish another hit making good dance records but with no refund so far."This Feeling" is a nice release for both of them.If you want it to stop is up to you...
Straight out Pink Wakanda PinkPantheress managed to create a name of her own in the music industry of Uk last year with her first mixtape. The truth is that since last year i m trying to understand what to do with her. One thing is that she is talented. The other thing is that she makes music that it's not pop, it's different but there is an audience for it. Her brand new single with Willow is produced by Skrillex and Mura Masa and is her best attempt to reach larger audience. "Where You Are" is trending right in the Uk and after some repeats becomes quite interesting...
Alvaro Soler is very popular except his country also in Germany. It's only natural to collaborate with the biggest German dj right now Topic who made international hits last year. This latin house single they made together is climbing the charts in Germany and there is absolutely no reason not to become a hit across Europe."Solo Par Ti" is what summer needs in radio, clubbing and wherever music is.
For me Ann Wilson may be one of the best female voices ever. As part of Heart along with her sister created some of the best pop rock songs ever that can still move our bodies and soul.Ann doesn't need a another hit after all she had so many. She just needs to make music and touch people's hearts. Her brand new album is going to be released in late April and it's gonna be called "Fierce Bliss".As part of this album Ann decided to make a cover of the Queen's classic "Love Of My Life" together with Vince Gill as a duet.In past decades this song would have been globally acknowledged. Endless love for Ann Wilson...i love you!!!
There are always some exceptions at the rules of this blog especially when it comes to such a beautiful remix to a beautiful song. After all music is an international language and speaks to the heart first. Marina Satti is a wonderful greek artist that blends traditional music with contemporary elements.Dj Flikas who is a friend of mine created this atmospheric remix that can easily become one of my favourites this summer. Just stare at the sea, feel the air and watch the sunset with this one on your speakers..
Music is the perfect time machine and succesfull singles from the past always find a way to come back one way or another. In 2000 "It Wasn't Me" by Shaggy was a crossover hit for the American Jamaican artist hiting number one in the United States among other countries. Tenchi & Enbody along with Shaggy make a dance revival of this hit with many possibilities to impact hard the pop radio stations. Summer is ready for this one...
Now this may sound like a unlike duet but in music everything is possible.Bring Me The Horizon after the Brits duet with Ed Sheeran opened a circle of collaborations and the latest is the one in Sigrid's brand new single. The song will be part of her brand new album "How To Let Go". The Norwegian pop star delivers a great powerfull song about the way many people are dealing with their lives so that means it will appeal to a large audience. The song might and should be a crossover hit cause it's a memorable song..
"Europiana" was the most underrated album last year and so were the singles. By the end of next month we will have the "Europiana Encore" and one by one the new singles in it are revealed."Dancing Through The Rain" is the latest offer and his brand new single. It starts with a piano melody that reminds "Clocks" by Coldplay to transform right after into a synth upbeat full of hope song that shows the energetic side Savoretti has.Don't miss this one...
While last year's "Don't Wait Up" failed to make a good impression in the music world Shakira took her time to reconsider what she is going to do next. The Colombian star makes a comeback in 2022 recruiting one of the biggest latin stars right now Rauw Alejandro."Te Felicito" is definitely a much better release for Shakira using disco funky guitars along with a reggaeton beat. This blend makes the song interesting enough for the latin charts and latin lovers. What impact will have at the charts is something i really can't predict right now. All i can say is that from now it has a place in my playlist...
Ed Sheeran is everywhere!!! Not only has one hit after another but he also shows his solidarity to the Ukranian people since all the proceeds of his new single with Lil Baby on board for the remix will go in aid of the Ukranian refugees. The video for the song was shot in the streets of Kyiv before the Russian invasion with Ukranian dancers."2Step" will just another hit in Sheeran's long back catalog which continues to expand month by month. Are there any more surprises from Ed this year?
The only artist that headlined Coachella twice and maybe one of the few music superstars of our time has released his latest single from the "Dawn FM" album "Out Of Time" a few days ago. You all know the album version. Here is an upgrade in my opinion with this dark urban electronic remix Kaytranada made for him being on repeat since i heard it.Many say time travel is possible. I don't know about that but you can surely get out of time...
The Kid Laroi without a doubt made the biggest hit last year with "Stay" which continues to make history in the charts. The truth is that i wasn't expecting it when i first heard the song even though this blog was one of the first who spot him long before "Stay".Two years after that we find the Australian singer at his peak with his debut studio album on the way and a follow up single the first of 2022 as from today."Thousand Miles" sounds to me as a proper follow up to this huge success he received showing that he is NOT a one hit wonder.Something tells me that the label instant hit is also a proper thing to say... Rate (4/5)
To tell you the truth i wasn't a big fun of "Anyone For You" the first single from the upcoming George Ezra album. From today we have a second single from "Gold Rush Kid" and it's much better i think. It will work in the British market but it's not a crossover hit once again. Ezra brings out the best pop part of him in a party starter anthem called "Green Green Grass". The good mood it brings is the basic element after hearing this release so thumbs up for the new Ezra single...
Two Swedes in a dance anthem showing that they master the art of dance/pop.Alesso continues to make big collabs with the one he made with Katy Perry still making waves especially in the USA.Zara Larsson on the other hand needs a hit to make a comeback and "Words" seems to be it.Nice melody, great basslines, easy to get in your tongue and become a favourite for the next weeks.
Galantis are paying tribute to one of the biggest Swedish artists the last four decades."Fading Like A Flower" was the second single from Roxette's "Joyride" album and it was released in 1991.This top 10 hit for Roxette is the latest remix release by Galantis keeping the 90's feeling and bringing back memories of pop music of the past.So nice to hear Marie's vocals once again...
Without a doubt the new Batman was a big box office success making Robert Pattinson a good choice for the role. The trailer for the movie used Nirvana's "Something In The Way" from the legendary "Nevermind" album making the song viral to all streaming services. The movie will be on HBO on Monday and it's the perfect time for huge electronic producer in the USA Illenium to release this remix for the song.I have given a name to my pain....Batman!!!
Covers one way or another have an educational reason among others. It's a way for young generations to get familiar with some classics they didn't have the chance to know. Not all covers are good enough to reach the magic of the originals but still it's an opportunity to discover the classics. French dj Sound Of Legend has a thing in covering 80 & 90's classics and this one is a hit right now in France. Of course it's way behind the masterpiece Michael Sembelo did for the "Flashdance" ost but like i said covering classics is one thing.Get in touch with the 80's it's good for your health...
You know how things are with viral hits from Tik Tok. It's like the kidder egg you never know what you will find. This 2015 release from Canadian dj producer Kilotile was unearthed from nowhere to become a viral hit that is spreading all around the world. First it was Australia now it's Germany that loves it and soon who knows where else. The song uses Solomun Burke's hit "Cry To Me" from 1962 and just like that the 60's are here again...
Exactly one month ago Tom Grennan's new single "Remind Me" was released and since then there is a slow but steady ascent in the Uk chart. To tell you the truth i m expecting at some point a remix by Calvin Harris as a payback to Grennan's vocals for "By Your Side" but for now let's hear what Billen Ted did for the song. The dance - pop aspect of this remix will boost the radio plays maybe especially to countries outside Uk but it's not the one that will gain the dancefloors...
Talking about instant hits two of them made it to this category. The one from Harry Styles and Jack Harlow's "First Class" that will go straight to number one in the USA dethroning Harry after he failed to do so in the UK. If you take a closer look the biggest hits the past few years are coming from newcomers. For instance who new Olivia Rodrigo two years ago, Gayle, Lewis Capaldi and so many others. Following the footsteps of Lewis Capaldi this young Irish artist Cian Ducrot may be the surprise this year with the heartfelt ballad "All For You". It has all the ingiridences to become the ballad of the year. The haunting track explores in a melodic way heartbreak, love and lust that will affect a big audience. The piano driven anthem i can predict that will be one of the most talk about songs this year cause the simplicity always finds a way exactly as John Legend did with "All Of Me". This tune will stay like almost forever...
Finally "Paradise Again" is out and i d like to say some things about the album. Swedish House Mafia are going to close this year's Coachella with The Weeknd on stage of course and a powerful show of music and lights. The album is not what you 'd expect from the trio. It has different styles of electronic music and probably this album will get some good nominations at next year's Grammys. There are no obvious hits except the ones you know and the best track for me is probably the one with Seinabo Sey who sounds like Nina Simone in "Don't Go Mad". The song will be released as a single i guess at some point and believe me it's an anthem..
With the first live appearence of the song being made few days ago at the Red Rocks amphitheater "Start Over" is a massive tune from Damian Lazarus & Gorgon City. From the multiverse of dance music this tribal melodic house release will get your attention from the first second and you will be captivated by Leia's vocals. The extended version can be found on the Sound Fist Facebook page and is the version you need for the right restart..
Now let's move to another music spot in the planet. Balkans are often produce music that becomes very popular in this region and sometimes gets away all around Europe. Qodes is an artist from Romania and Antonia is maybe the most popular singer right now coming from the same country. This production is gaining more and more attention and probably will be one of the biggest hits this summer in the Balkans in general. This is also the new version with Antonia's vocals in it that is an addition to the instrumental original release. It's this eastern vibe that speaks to the dna of the people here and a mid tempo deep house with a hypnotic clarinet that can hypnotize not snakes but music lovers too..
Trying to leave a better footprint this collaboration by Coldplay & Selena Gomez gets the remix treatment by Ofenbach.Dance versions of the songs are not only tools for djs but another way to spread the releases to bigger audience. Is this going to be the last remix to "Let Somebody Go"? We will see cause Coldplay are used to release many remixes of their singles. If this one suits you is something up to you..
This Akon song that went viral lately seems to affect too many artists from dance music to rap."Shake It" samples "Bananza (Belly Dancer)" and this Bronx line up including Cardi B seems to get a lot of attention. Of course Kay Flock is not a good guy either since he has a court in few months for shooting and killing someone so his rap career may come to an end. Cardi B shame on you girl to hang out with this guy but i ll pretend i don't know all these things and i ll "Shake It".Drill drill drill....
The fact that he is still alive making music is quite an achievement. At some point we will eat koliva if he doesn't change lifestyle or he will get busted again for various reasons. Rappers are the bad boys in music we all know that but because of that are very popular also. It makes you wonder what role models we are producing through music. Young kids love this music no doubt about that and they will make songs like these hits in no time."Gine" is named after the energy drink and is the comeback single of 6ix9nine after more than a year and disses Lil Durk a common thing among rappers but who cares. They have their own problems you see...
You get no "Mixed Emotions" after hearing the brand new Chase & Status single.Just emotions and good vibes coming from the legendary drum n bass duo.Their sixth studio album is called "What Came Before" out early June and this single marks their status in their music which remains true to the essence of the genre they have served for years now. I love the melodic line, the emotional vocals and the full gear this track provides. Legends do it better...
Back to back single releases from Parov Stelar. After "Toxic Lover" here comes "Fire" to exterminate the evil from such a releationship. This is the final single release from the upcoming "Moonlight Love Affair" album which gives us a nice taste of what to expect on summer.Parov Stelar is always a good choice for our speakers away from what bonds music with streaming charts and radio plays. There is always good music out there just as long as you know how to search for it...
Teens all over the world are taking over in music and the social media have a big responsibility for the fuss.Do they have something more in depth of time or are they just shooting stars.Remember how Justin Bieber started? Well a lot of comparisons for the 18-year old Canadian Lauren Spencer-Smith who had a viral hit with "Fingers Crossed" few months ago. This is the follow up and her third single which has a massive reaction in the last few hours of it's release. The thing with music is what stays and not what's making waves for few days. I can remember many teen pop stars like herself decades ago like Tiffany or Martika to name a few that they were shooting stars. But still they managed to have songs that can be remembered. Is "Flowers" in the same category? Only time will tell and all i can say is that this is a nice piano driven ballad..
Lizzo has a "Special" album waiting for you in July and the first taste is here. It was "About Damn Time" for Lizzo to release the highly anticipated new single and the groovy sound won't fail you. The queen of "no body shaming" knows how to put soul music back on track and back on the charts. And after her 2019 grammy-winning album "Cuz I Love You" she shows that she isn't a one hit wonder or a music accident. My feeling is that she has too many to offer and her new album is going to be one of the best albums of the year...
Craig David is an asset for music with his career expanding in 4 decades. He still makes good music he still produces hits and i think that his brand new single will be another one in the Uk.Using as a sample "Show Me Love" by Robin S and together with Duvall on vocals he has a heart that has been waiting for you maybe on the dancefloor. These days he started his tour and i m sure that "My Heart's Been Waiting For You" will be a highlight in his show...
Have you seen the new trailer for Stranger Things 4? If you did then you know what i m talking about. If not then you just have to. The whole concept of the tv series was intriguing from the start because of the idea and because of the 80's references. Music of the 80's was one of the fundamental elements that made Stranger Things such a huge hit and in season 4 the trailer uses an epic Journey song. The Steve Perry voice for me is one of the best ever in rock music and it gives me chills every single time. This remix version by Bryce Miller/Alloy Tracks should have been more in duration using the whole song and not just a part of it.This 1983 masterpiece gets an epic remix that could have been even better.
Let's go "Trippin" now with a brand new Greek dance production by two people you know too well. Sergio T & Livin R introduce us their trip plans that includes Crete of course a destination where dance music is part of the summer culture. This production has nothing to jealous about other international releases in dance music and the extended mix is an offer to all djs around the world...
Need i write more when you read the title? After the Glass Animals remix here comes the Meduza remix to blast your speakers the dancefloors and everything in between. And if you thought that "My Love" could only have the Florence dimension then you were wrong. The deep house feeling Meduza added can only make djs around the world make this one of their favourites this summer. And if not don't trust these djs. They don't know shit..
Afrobeats are so popular lately that Billboard was forced to create a whole new genre chart for this music. The latest trend comes from the Ghanain artist Black Sherif."Kwaku The Traveler" is already a big hit in many African countries and i m wondering how long will it take to see it in many European charts. Hello Africa tell me how ya doin...
The members of The XX thank god are still making music and after two long years we have the return of Jamie XX.This soulful house new track of course it has a sample and before someone curse me for not mention it it's Bobby Barne's "Super High On Your Love" from the 70's. I guess this means we will have an album or more music from him later this year but for now "Let's Do It Again" will become a habbit by pressing the repeat button...
Maybe the name Kuu doesn't ring a bell but Riton & Alex Metric does. This dance release is expected to do well in the charts at some point but to tell you the truth i m not really sure. It is supported by many djs and it has a sample from Debelah Morgan's "Dance With Me" from the year 2000.This energetic dance tango is different among other dance tracks this year and either you love it or leaves you without a trace. Which is it?
Yes it has been already 20 years in Will Young's career and an album with his biggest hits and two new tracks is on the way.Today you will be able to hear his first single out of this album only if you follow Sound Fist at Facebook cause you know that this blog is faster than the internet for now that i m writing this post. I like Will Young especially the last few years of his career and "Why Does It Hurt" proves why. No matter what chart position it will get this song is a perfect example how pop music should sound...
The right song for the right day. We need more time between Friday and Monday as well as more music. And this blog has a lot of music everyday. Mistajam with many collabs like the one with David Guetta and PS1 very close to make a global dance hit with "Life Goes On" are joining forces for this one."Monday Kind Of Tuesday" are making his way up to the world of dance music and you should give it a spin..
In case you follow Sound Fist facebook page to find the links for the downloads using the password from here i have to tell you that they are active by default from the server only for one month. So you have to be quick don't tell me that i haven't warned you for the music here. Now this one is based in an epic Yazoo single that has no match."Don't Go" is being transformed to Babert's "Don't Stop Now" and the thrill is still there no matter how many years have passed...
