Miley Cyrus first ever live album is a gift to the fans and includes 20 songs across every era along with 2 new songs performed live."You" is the one she decided to release as a single and soon "Attention" the second new song i guess will follow. Listening to "You" a ballad that reaches the country rock blues boundaries didn't impress me much to tell the truth. There i said my opinion of this single release by Miley that i really appreciate after her last album.
Brazilian dj and producer Alok is among the artists that almost every week releases something new. But this release comes as a surprise since he collaborates with British pop rock band Bastille for his brand new single.I think that this is Bastille's first original dance single and i can say that from the first listen it creates a positive reaction.Hopefully this might be the first time Alok will break into the Uk top 40 cause this release worths listening to as much as radios can...
How "Frozen" can you get? It seems that Madonna had multiple artists in her mind except Fireboy DML to celebrate her iconic single and this one has as a guest an upcoming rapper 070 Shake who collaborated also with Kanye West and Pusha T. It seems that she has a thing with young black and latinos upcoming artists and you all know what it is.Nah she just want to help young artists with nothing in return. If you cant get enough of low temperatures right before summer breaks then this one is just right for you...
Anyone who dares to cover any "Purple Rain" song must have a lot of guts.Holly Humberstone is a British singer who made quite an impression to me with her "The Walls Are Too Thin" single her best till now.She has a lot of potential in music and the courage to cover Prince's "I Would Die For U". Of course nothing compares to him and ever will but Holly tried to make a less energetic version of this classic. It's an interesting one i ll give her that and i would love to see her chart with this cover but i still have the electrified original to my ears...
Third single from the upcoming Kehlani album "Blue Water Road" out in late April and this time she reunites with Justin Bieber. Till now Kehlani had some pretty good songs, many collabs but not a big solo hit. Is "Up All Night" a great single? It's a nice funky soul anthem but doesn't leave much after hearing it except that sounds similar in the rhythm with "That's Love Goes" by Janet Jackson. A descent presence in the charts is definite but for something more she needs something better than that..
The thin line for a dance anthem to crossover the dance charts and become a global hit is literally not visible. The only place that still makes dance anthems hits is mostly Europe and Irish dj Seamus D had a fine idea to use Rihanna's "Kiss It Better" to create "Like That". Keep it in mind that this one might be one of the summer tracks and might appear soon enough at the Uk charts as the song is becoming viral.
I can see it happening all over the world. Kids are listening more than anything to local rappers and sometimes some international. This means that out of nowhere rappers of all sorts can become superstars especially if you are from the USA or UK. It's more likely for kids to know Liilz rather than Madonna or even Billie Eilish. Liilz is the latest new trend in the UK music industry with "Glad You Came" which became viral like many do. The song uses a sample from 2011 hit by The Wanted "Glad You Came" and has Ziezie also in vocals who recently became well known providing the vocals for Sigala's "Melody" single.
One of the albums i 've been waiting for is out this week and i m talking about the long awaited Kavinsky album "Reborn". I don't know if i had high expectations but the result is less from what i thought it would be. That doesn't mean it's not a good album it's just different. It has it's moments but i though more "Drive" feeling and not so much electronic pop. If you listen to the brand new single "Cameo" you will understand what i mean cause it's a very good electronic pop song but very far from the "Nightcall" essence. And you will ask me do you want Kavinsky to repeat the same music?Yes and no is the answer or i don't know what exactly do i want from him. Kareen Lomax after a dance journey with Diplo and Paul Woolford provides the vocals on this one and yes i prefer "Cameo" from some chart rap songs of today.
It seems that animated films are creating many hit songs lately and after Encanto watch out for this virtual boyband from Pixar's "Turning Red" movie. The song was written by Billie Eilish and Finneas who took away the oscar for best song yesterday and in this virtual band Finneas adds also his vocals. Is "Nobody Like You" going to compete for next year's academy awards? For now 90's boybands revive through this single which is storming up the charts in the USA.BTS eat their dust...
With a brand new video for the song and the remixes coming out one after another "The Motto" is heading for next week's Uk Top 10. This is another song that took a long time to become a hit a strange situation that happens a lot lately. This remix by Ownboss is just right for the clubs and gives the song a different aspect with 90's piano riffs and an edm break that can cause a damage right in front of the subwoofer...
Many things have happened the last few days. Foo Fighter's drummer Taylor Hawkins died at the age of 50 probably of drug use. Will Smith slapped Chris Rock live on stage at the Oscars and went viral today. Many approved many critisized on thing is for sure this will remain an epic moment on live tv and one thing that will haunt Smith for the rest of his life." Coda" was the big winner, "Power Of The Dog" the big loser and "Dune" went home with six Oscars. Billie Eilish won best song as it was expected with the James Bond theme "No Time To Die" and the rest is history.
Now it's not the first time someone attempts to use "Another Brick On The Wall" for a dance anthem. The Pink Floyd's classic is not something easy to use for this purpose.Italian dj Piero Pirupa used as less as possible the epic track and used a small sample creating "We Don't Need" which sounds cool for clubs. Otherwise the result may be a disastress...
This is the best way to start our week with the remix version of Latto's "Big Energy". Her album "777" is out but i was not impressed although she has many collaborations (too rap less soul). But this song that i first blogged months ago has the potential to enter the USA top 10 in two weeks from now.The song was based on Mariah Carey's "Fantasy" that was based on Tom Tom Club's "Genious Of Love" to put things in the right place. The "marriage" between Latto and Mariah Carey made DJ Khaled and the outcome is a blast!!! Mariah's high notes fits perfectly and the summer mood is on...
I m quite hooked on "Hallucination" and i m not quite sure it will achieve the success it is supposed to. Regard & Years & Years have a summer anthem in my opinion and if it takes to wait till then hey hey i ll pay the price.I m quite sure that soon enough we will get the dance remixes of the song but till then this chilled version is as good as i needed to. Lately it takes a long time for a song to become a hit and let's hope this is one will happen to this gem...
Finally Cannon's "Fever Dream" album is out and all i can say is that it's already my favourite this year. It's like hearing Cars with Hooverphonic and a couple of others in one and this outcome is absolutely brilliant. Take for example the brand new single Cannons are going to release on Monday "Tunnel Of You" with a Chris Isaak guitar sound to hit all the right nerves. You will get in and you won't want get out willingly. What a sound what a voice what a feeling...
This blog provides music everyday. It works with my own rules, i choose the music and the reason the posts are entered and it works with infos and reviews of my own. The charts are a guide for music but not the only one. In the USA next week Doja Cat with "Woman" will enter the top 10 a solid wall that it's very hard to penetrate. After "Woman" Latto with "Big Energy" will have the honour especially after the release of the remix version with Mariah Carey tomorrow.
This is a Greek production for Claydee's Spanish single "A Tu Salud" that the blog presented many weeks ago only this time this is the remix version by Coyot a Greek producer that gets a lot of attention lately. This is a darker and slower version of the song that may be useful for djs..
Take "Pepas" by Farruko mix it with Guru Josh's "Infinity" and you get "Trompeta" by the French internationa star Willy William. The song is a big hit in Belgium and Netherlands and follows a massive appealing latin dance music has lately. The song might be used for the 2022 FIFA World Cup so get ready for some kind of craziness around the song and maybe multilanguage versions. If Faruko made it then why not this one..
I love so much the original that i can not hold any hard feelings to Alex Ross for bringing it back. The classic by the late Jermaine Stewart back in 1986 was his biggest hit and even it was never a number one song in the charts stayed iconic till today. The tune and the melody are pretty much a winner and the transformation Alex Ross today is an easy one. You can't make any comparisons with the original except feel good and get in the dance mood otherwise you might take your clothes off...
James Bay returns with his first new single in two years. His third album will be released later this year and the bittersweet "Give Me The Reason" serves as the first single out of it.Despite the fact rap music has left a little room for artists like James Bay there is still an audience that fonds melodies, music stories and guitar riffs that marks a genre that continues to live and produce songs that people love..
Do we really have to say anything about Jack? The special extended version of "Europiana" will contain six new songs and this one is the second single and one of them."Love Of Your Life" is one of those ballads that are describing exactly what people are looking for in love and how it goes eventually. So immediate voice and lyrics makes the new version of the album so a must have.Is there anything more powerful than truth in songs?
Streaming is playing an important role to the charts. The thing is that other songs are selling on i tunes and different songs are being streamed in the platforms. The combination of these two are making the hits but it's really strange how these two are often so very different. For an example Anitta's "Envolver" became the first latin song from Brazil by a female to reach number one in the global spotify chart but guess what. There is nowhere to be found in the USA or Uk charts. So that means that there is not just music from these two sources but there is a global market that prefers artists like Anitta.
Ed Sheeran is giving away hits, money, building careers and making chart history. After exploring afrobeats now he goes latin once again after Camila Cabello. He collaborates with J Balvin for two new songs with "Sigue" being the obvious monster hit. It's like we are having a latin "Shape Of You" just in time for the summer. Half in Spanish half in English language it targets a big market not that Ed Sheeran didn't own it. On the other hand J Balvin will return to an international hit after a long time.
What a year so far for Fireboy DML who transformed to an international pop star in a couple of months. Ed Sheeran was responsible for the "Peru" success and then came the collaboration with Madonna for the "Frozen" remix. Who can ever dreamed these collaborations but the hardest part comes now. Can Fireboy DML remain at the spotlight on his own? This is his brand new single "Playboy" an afrobeat song that will try to play the follow up part.In my opinion there is nothing new coming to my ears with this one. If i make a mistake i ll guess we ll see...woof!!!
It starts like "Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad" by Moby and in the process it adds electronic elements to make "Love Letter" one of the great new releases of the week and of the month maybe of the year too. I don't know if they had in their mind the Moby classic but the influence is so there you can almost taste it. The brand new single by Odesza with The Knocks on board is not an sms or an email that can be lost. It's really a "Love Letter" with deep soaring melodies and an unbeatable groove while we are waiting for the duos album "The Last Goodbye" out in late July...
With music you can travel around the world and this time we will make a stop at Norway. There you can find some "Profound Mysteries" a project that Royksopp will unleash at the end of April. This is the fourth taste of the 10-song collection and this one features the voice of Astrid S."Breathe" is so far the most mainstream radio friendly release from the album and could sneak in anyone's playlist..
Disclosure are definitely a dance production duo that has a uniqueness in their sound that doesn't follow the mainstream line just to make a hit. You have to follow their music and not the other way around."Waterfall" is the brothers brand new single with Raye serving the vocal part and the garage driven sound filling the air. This is the first release Raye makes in 2022 and the second for Disclosure.
You can't really keep up with the releases Sofi Tukker are making lately and "Original Sin" is one of them. I didn't post the original but i think i have to post the Felix Jaehn remix. There are so many songs to choose from the catalogue the duo has to offer and it's almost impossible for a dj not to have at least one in his dj set. And this summer this remix has many chances to meet us somewhere like all the sins we are about to commit..
Without Tik Tok i guess this song would have been wrongly lost in time like so many others. More and more we see releases from the past gain new interest giving chance to long lost songs to revive and why not become hits. This 2020 release by 20 year Cat Burns is one of my favourites a long time now and the truth is that i ve been waiting for a new afrobeat release to talk about it but can't wait any longer. Hailing from the Uk top 10 "Go" is one of the best songs you can put on your speakers and this remix is the best there is right now. There is also a drum n bass remix by Joe Goddard but i ll pass...
I really don't have an answer of what makes songs go viral. In any case this is something that psychology or maybe universities must study. This is a very familiar sound since it appears in any cell phone. Now how this can be used in a electronic dance single is an answer that Brazilian (i think) dj Liu has. All you have to do is press the play button and discover something that is viral right now and can cause a massive hysteria. Just imagine that on the speakers and everyone start checking their phones."Ringtone Drop" may be a clever idea in a way and even become a global hit in the near future but it really doesn't stand the test of time...
I don't have to explain how big is this collaboration for all of us who lived in the 80's. Two titans of electronic music joined forces for the very first time to create a "Purple Zone" and you are all invited. The synths are so familiar leading to so many pop monsters like "Always On My Mind" or "It's A Sin" that you don't really need anything else to be convinced. The song will be featured on the brand new Soft Cell album "Happiness Not Included" and the vocals by Marc Almond and Neil Tennant are a fact. The song will impact the older ones and not this generation. Don't expect this one to be seen in the charts but we really don't mind. I will even say that the song is not a great one but this collab is...
Diplo has released his brand new album which is full of collaborations.Multiple singles has surfaced but i l stick to "Don't Forget My Love" which is one of my favourites electronic dance singles these days. The Burns remix doesn't make it better only a little bit different. It's realy a pitty this song appears only in the electronic/edm charts so far. Maybe future TikTok videos will discover it and spread the the good feeling it provides...
China is a big market not only South Korea. It's only natural the brand new version of the fourth new song from the James Blunt greatest hits to host China's Jason Zhang. Collaborations are playing a key role to the music market and James Blunt seems to move forward in that direction. You will see more and more collaborations with Asian artists in the future assuming the world stays in one piece. Besides that the song is really nice and the video for the song is really funny...
Hailing from the number one alternative songs in the USA Portugal. The Man comeback is really really interesting. After the huge success of "Feel It Still" no other single they released managed to capture the feeling of the audience. I think all that is about to change with the first single from their new album cause it has something. Produced by Ryan Tedder "What Me Worry?" grows with every play and if the radios are clever enough they will put it in heavy rotation for a music twist into something far more inetresting...
You can't change some things in the music history no matter what music sounds like today or what's popular. Back in the 80's and before that rock music was the base of music with it's own radio stations playing all day long songs that were huge hits in the charts. One of those huge groups were Def Leppard with songs like "Love Bites", "Pour Some Sugar On Me" and so many more that immortalized them in time. For most youngsters this music sounds alien and i know it's difficult to get in touch with sounds that are far from over. Well this blog has ears in the past and in the future and it means a great deal that Def Leppard are releasing new material in almost 7 years, Their brand new album "Diamond Star Halos" is going to be released in late May and the first single "Kick" it "kicks" like it was supposed to and sounds like it made me a fan..And one more soon they will be touring with Motley Crue, Poison and Joan Jett And The Blackhearts. Boy i wish i could go
Australian Grammy winner electronic producer Flume recently released the first single from his upcoming album "Palaces"."Say Nothing" has already a remix by Tchami making it a mainstage house weapon. This option is far better from the original mix in my opinion and djs all around the world will love it. If you want to be one step ahead into what's hot in dance music you should follow Sound Fist. You know it picks the best ones..
Sigala's latest single gets more remixes everyday trying to establish a high rotation profile anywhere it can. The truth is that after my first review "Melody" becomes more appealing to me and Tiesto who is on fire lately gives the dance floor anthem a bigger bang. The term slow burner stands for club bangers too even if chart success seems to be a distant dream...
This is the first new release by Arcade Fire in five years and it's taken from their forthcoming album "We" out in May.In fact the first single is in two parts "The Lightning I & II" and it feels like two songs in one.The return of the singer Win Butler will kick you quickly and as the melodic part I builts up part II will strike you as the pace picks up. The Canadian rock band has returned and the fans will be pleased at least..
It's not the first time and it won't be the last when something viral gets so much attention. And it's not the first time something old out of the blue will become a hit. This cover by German artists Annenmaykantereit and Giant Rooks on the Suzanne Vega's classic "Tom's Diner" due to Tik Tok suddenly is taking over the music world. The cover is genious and normally no one would pay any attention in the music industry or the radios. But social media have their own rules and they establish what's hot and what's not...
Muse are ready to unleash their brand new album "Will Of The Power" on August with a summer tour coming later on. After the release of the first single "Won't Stand Down" here comes another taste from the trio."Compliance" is a good single for them that will be heard loudly live and you better be ready to comply. The band continues to be one of the greatest rock bands from Britain with fans all over the world.
This is the first release Normani makes in 2022. And in a world that needs soul music more than ever "Fair" is really a good choice. Thanks to many artists like Doja Cat, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande etc the genre finds a glimpse of the glorious past that gave music brilliant songs. This an emotionally charged song with soaring harmonies that will move all soul lovers. Get some soul music it will clear your ears..
After a pit stop in dance music with Calvin Harris, Tom Grennan set sales for new musical adventures with a brand new single."Remind Me" is going to gain huge success in the Uk but Grennan needs also something international at some point. The indie British sound is here and it has many fans around the world. A new album i guess is in the way and "Remind Me" serves as a good taste of what Tom Grennan has to offer this year.Good choice, good song...
The first time these two collaborated was for making "Bed" with Raye on vocals. And because the first time wasn't enough this is the second one with Bryson Tiller on vocals. You could easily say that this is "Bed" part II because the concept is exactly the same. I m not easily impressed by copy pastes even if it has all the ingredients of a dance hit."What would you do" if you hear something you already know with different lyrics?
Only the best collaborations for the daughter of Neneh Cherry. Mabel returns with a new single made by Jax Jones & Galantis. And now comes the hard part since "Good Luck" is not made by the stardust the producers have. It may have this 90's sound with a lot of piano house and soulful vocals but it doesn't get under your skin in the first place.Sometimes i may be wrong in my judgement but this one has an expiring date...
This voice, this name, this iconic name for dance music has returned. His voice is connected to the massive tunes of Faithless biggest hits like "Insomnia" making Maxi Jazz a legend that will never be forgotten. And this return has a cause named Vintage Culture. I wrote recently that he is one of the most hyped djs around the world right now and the success is only few clicks away."Commotion" almost inevitable sounds a lot like "Insomnia" which is going to be pointed out by any review but this is not necessary a bad thing.Djs around the world will embrace "Commotion" and i m curious to see what chart position will get...
To tell you the truth i never expected such a good song from Tones And I. It's a very pleasent surprise that overpass "Dance Monkey" in every aspect.Till her brand new album out this August sit tight and enjoy "Eyes Don't Lie" the first great song for me of the year. It's the melody, the production and the difference that comes to your ears from the first note.If this one doesn't become a hit it will become a timeless classic...
Do u want me to count the artists from Nigeria that made a huge success the last year?Well add another one cause the public demand to hear this one is huge due of course Tik Tok which shapes the hits whether you like it or not.Pheelz is the next name to rule the charts the next weeks with Buzu who changed his name to BNXN and the track "Finesse". There is an african melodic line that makes these songs trending everywhere. How long will it last nobody knows. We are still not at the peak..
Time for some girl power in the dancefloors. Based on the hype the last few months dj and producer LP Giobbi is growing her fame day by day making her presence quite loud with her recent releases. You don't see her on my blog for the first time and i m sure this won't be the last. Her new single "Sinner" with vocalist Bklava on board made a big impression to the experts in the dance scene and so it's one of the best new dance singles this week...
Luude success with "Down Under" a drum n bass re-edition of the Men At Work classic gives him the spotlight for now with a genre that not very often creates hit singles. It seems that the classics suits Luude since he took not only one but two of them for his brand new remix. The first one you see it on the title and it's none other than the 1997 Verve classic. The second one is Police's "Message In A Bottle" from 1979 making Sting once more an inspiration for new artists since we also have Swedish House Mafia's "Redlight" which is based on Police's "Roxanne". Now this kinda mash up by Luude may be his new single or it will remain as a remix for all fans.So many memories in one single once more...
There are some people that pretty much shaped music as it is today. One of them is definitely Diana Ross with a legacy that is simply unsurpassed. And what an honor for her grandchildren in music like Purple Disco Machine to even make a remix under her name. All instruments drums and bells that shaped disco music and RnB are being used for this remix version of "I Still Believe". If you google this remix you will see that there are only few reports of the excistance of this beauty. Sound Fist simply can not close ears or eyes....
What a line up what a tune. With these names you know you can't go wrong even if you wanted to."On Your Own" is the third single from Hayden James sophomore album "Lifted" and with this melodic form and Elderbrook on vocals you can do almost everything on your own. Destined for multiple plays and a place on your heart..
A solid wall the USA top 10 that was just been announced with "Heat Waves" spending a second week at the top. Expect "Woman" by Doja Cat, "Enemy" by Imagine Dragons and "Energy" by Latto possibly to renew soon enough the top 10. The road to chart success seems endless in the states making things a still water in music that has so much more to offer. On the other hand Kungs seems that he has the dance vibes for this summer with his new single that has a brand new remix by Robin Schulz who remixes everything and it matters. This is a tune you will definitely hear this summer...
