PET SHOP BOYS - HYMN (IN MEMORIAM OF ALEXEI NAVALNY) (DANCE MIX)

 Pet Shop Boys are known for their political view in the world and they prove it once more.In February 2024 the Russian opposition leader, Alexei Navalny, died in prison in Russia. Neil and Chris wrote and demoed this song in February 2025 and dedicate it to his memory and cause. In the dance mix version, Neil quotes extracts from Navalny’s prison letters and his book "Patriot". Unlike the streaming version, the official video for the dance mix features audio extracts from Navalny’s speeches.Pet Shop Boys will headline a very special event in Berlin on June 28, playing a 40-minute live set.The event, "This Is Navalny', will also include performances by Russian musicians as well as a live meeting with Yulia Navalnaya (the widow of Alexei Navalny and head of the Anti-Corruption Foundation which her husband founded).

The Hidden Cameras are a Canadian indie pop band fronted by singer-songwriter Joel Gibb.Having the privilige to have a remix for one of their new songs by the Pet Shop Boys is an experience of a lifetime but it happened not once but twice (one in the past).Over a pumping bassline "How Do You Love?" transformed by the PSB into an emotional disco banger, complete with bombastic string sections and joyful house pianos.It seems that the Pet Shop Boys are on a remix mode since few days back i posted the one they made for Tina Turner.

 It may not be the greatest remix Pet Shop Boys ever done but being together with Tina Turner on a remix (not the first time) is always interesting.This is an unreleased track by the iconic Tina Turner originally recorded in 1984 for the album "Private Dancer". It remained unreleased until the album's 40th anniversary reissue and promoting this release Pet Shop Boys put their signature synth-pop sound, transforming "Hot For You Baby" into a danceable track while retaining Turner's energy and vocal power."Hot For You Baby (Pet Shop Boys Remix)" is part of a larger effort to honor Tina Turner's legacy, featuring previously unreleased material and new interpretations of her works.

PRIMAL SCREAM - INNOCENT MONEY (PET SHOP BOYS REMIX)

 Now it's time for a total recall as in one track we have two iconic names in the form of Primal Scream and none other than the Pet Shop Boys.This release comes as part of the ongoing "Come Ahead" remix project which sees Primal Scream share re-imagined versions of each song from their latest album. And yes Primal Scream are still around ever since their "Loaded" single from the early 90's inprinted in our dna us older dudes."Innocent Money"  sees iconic band Pet Shop Boys put their own distinctive mark on the song, complete with Neil Tennant’s signature vocals.The PSB signature is all over this remix and that makes it a must have if you are a true fan and all i have to say is that it's a pitty that only few people will get to enjoy this collab due to the lack of spreading out by the media.

PET SHOP BOYS - ALL THE YOUNG DUDES (RICHARD X REMIX EDIT)

 The latest Pet Shop Boys album wasn't exactly what i would expect from them but hey they are the greatest electronic duo ever and expecting more is only natural.Their latest double A side single "New London Boy" and "All The Young Dudes" is their latest offer with this remix by Richard X for the second one convincing me into posting it.Their remixes on their singles had always a special place among fans and collectors.This one should too...

PET SHOP BOYS - IT'S NOT A CRIME

 It's strange but it happens sometimes.Two of the best new songs by the Pet Shop Boys are not on the album but on the "A New Bohemia" Ep released today."Is It A Crime" and  "I ve Got Plans (involving you" are new recordings by the duo of two PSB earliest songs from 1982 but they sound so good and fresh that should have been included to any album if not the latest one.Better now than never so get to the PSB bliss once more with this one.

PET SHOP BOYS - A NEW BOHEMIA (ALEX METRIC REMIX)

 I love PSB but with their latest album i was a bit disappointed.It has been a long time since one of their singles made the charts but the album was a Uk top 10 once more for what it's worth.Today they released "A New Bohemia" as their new single that has a PSB sound only in this remix made by Alex Metric.The original version is rather dull but fans can eat their hearts out with another super remix version by the band that is famous for the remixes.

 How can i choose among the four iconic Pet Shop Boys that included on this Ep.The 2CD and double white vinyl deluxe editions of "Nonetheless" include the bonus four-track EP, "Furthermore", featuring completely new recordings of "Heart", "Being boring", "Always on my mind" and “"t’s a sin".Their brand new album didn't impressed me much but this treat makes really worth buying the album.Iconic songs in a brand new feeling...

PET SHOP BOYS - DANCING STAR

 "Nonetheless" PSB remain a standard electronic bliss as the pioneers continue their journey through their music that inspired all the others.Pet Shop Boys are releasing their brand-new single, "Dancing Star"  their second from their brand new album.The song was inspired by the life of ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev, who defected from the Soviet Union and became a global star."Dancing star" has also been remixed by Solomun and the single bundle also includes two bonus tracks, written and produced by PSB: "Sense of time" and "If Jesus had a sister".In a way it links to the sound of "Domino Dancing" while the Solomun remix sounds more different and more energetic.No matter what i love the duo and what they bring to music.

NOEL GALLAGHER'S HIGH FLYING BIRDS - THINK OF A NUMBER (PET SHOP BOYS MAGIC EYE 12 REMIX)

 Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds new album "Council Skies" is out and if i were you i would buy the deluxe limited edition which offers this Magic Eye Remix of "Think Of A Number" by the one and only Pet Shop Boys.And not only that there is a remix by The Cure's Robert Smith on another track which make this purchase even more worthy.Chris and Neil have produced four remixes of the song: Timeless Classic 12-inch, Timeless Classic 7-inch, Magic Eye 12-inch and Magic Eye 7-inch.The Magic Eye 12-inch mix is the one included on the deluxe version of Noel’s album. When and if the other mixes will be released has not been announced yet but this is what you get today from this rather odd co-existance.Ok i though of a number...Guess it...

PET SHOP BOYS - THE LOST ROOM

 We have already said all about the "Lost" Ep by the Pet Shop Boys which comes along with the publish of the "Anually" book already avaliable.A video for "The Lost Room"  taking footage from the 1966 film "Young Törless" has just been released promoting this Ep so you have another reason to love the PSB history.Although it's not my favourite track from the Ep new music from the boys is always welcomed.

 Now all the Petheadz rejoice.Not only you ll get "Smash-The Singles 1985-2020" as a 3 cd box set, 6LP vinyl with all their singles but there is also this "Lost" Ep with 4 unreleased songs recorded for the 2015 "Super" album plus "Living In The Past" we already reviewed.They didn't make it to the album cause they didn't fit as Neil Tennant said recently but who cares since we have them finally.The problem for me was which one should i peak but i think that "I Will Fall" wins by far.

 Pet Shop Boys will be releasing their first new music for two years with the four-track CD EP, “Lost”, which accompanies the 2023 edition of Pet Shop Boys “Annually" book, available in April.The four songs, "The lost room", "I will fall", "Skeletons in the closet" and "Kaputnik" were written and recorded as demos in London and Berlin in 2015 for potential inclusion on the album "Super" but weren’t included "not because we didn't like them," according to Neil Tennant, "but because they didn't fit the album." The decision to release them now as an EP was made because "they all sit together quite well, production-wise, they're all super-electronic," and also because "some of them are sort of relevant to the world at the moment."The “Lost” CD EP and the 2023 edition of “Annually” will be released on April 14th and will also include this piano new version of "Living In The Past".

SOFT CELL & PET SHOP BOYS - PURPLE ZONE (EXTENDED MIX)

 I don't have to explain how big is this collaboration for all of us who lived in the 80's. Two titans of electronic music joined forces for the very first time to create a "Purple Zone" and you are all invited. The synths are so familiar leading to so many pop monsters like "Always On My Mind" or "It's A Sin" that you don't really need anything else to be convinced. The song will be featured on the brand new Soft Cell album "Happiness Not Included" and the vocals by Marc Almond and Neil Tennant are a fact. The song will impact the older ones and not this generation. Don't expect this one to be seen in the charts but we really don't mind. PAUL WELLER - COSMIC FRINGES (PET SHOP BOYS TRIAD MIX)

 Do you wanna know exactly how fat pop can get? Well as much as Paul Weller and Pet Shop Boys Together. The weight of these two in the music history is huge and it's not very easy to measure it. Paul Weller has a new album out called "Fat Pop" and "Cosmic Fringes" is the latest single from it. That's where Pet Shop Boys are coming in to make this almost 12 minutes remix just for the pleasure of their fans. Even though i didnt get as much thrilled listening to it as much when i read about it there is so much music history in it you just have to keep it somewhere..

PET SHOP BOYS - CRICKET WIFE

 Ξέρω ότι υπάρχουν πολλοί fans των Pet Shop Boys και αρκετοί από αυτούς είναι και συλλέκτες της μουσικής τους. Πριν πολλούς μήνες σας είχα παρουσιάσει από το blog την lockdown version του "West End Girls. Την ίδια περίοδο ηχογράφησαν και το "Cricket Wife" το οποίο είναι ηχογραφημένο πάνω σε ένα ορχηστρικό κομμάτι του Chris Low και με ποίηση που έγραψε ο Neil Tennant. Εδώ δεν μιλάμε για κάποιο pop single αλλά περισσότερο για ένα μουσικό έργο διάρκειας περίπου 10 λεπτών που δείχνει το πολύπλευρο ταλέντο τους. Άλλωστε έχουν συνθέσει μουσική και για το θέατρο. Αν είσαι λοιπόν fan θα πρέπει να συλλέξεις το συγκεκριμένο αν θες να λέγεσαι PSB fan...
