 A couple of weeks back they had their first Uk top 10 with "Caramel" taken from their upcoming "Even In Arcadia".Now Arcadia a region in Peloponissos Greece is the birthplace of my grandfathers so i m kinda excited about the title just as i was when members of Duran Duran formed Arcadia back in the 80s.Now their brand new single "Damocles" is probably gonna do the same and the name is an ancient character referring to the tale commonly referred to as "the sword of Damocles".This is a second reference to Greece after the album title so i think they should pay a visit when their European tour starts."Damocles" sets the emotional tone for "Even In Arcadia" a record that navigates identity, inner eclipse, and transcendence with cinematic intensity. The album is expected to push the boundaries of sound and emotion even further, dissolving into something otherworldly.Just as "Damocles" does...

 Finally Zerb decided to stay away from his trademark sound and become a Purple Disco Machine for his brand new single.If you want to spend "24h In A Disco" then all you have to do is play on repeat this one and i guarantee you that you won't get bored not once.Zerb the last couple of months is releasing back to back singles getting ready for the summer but this one is by far his best.With Ghanaian musician Kiki Gyan who was the keyboardist of the band Osibisa which was popular in the 1970s he will make you forget "Mwaki" which still plays a lot after so many months.

JACK BLACK - STEVE'S LAVA CHICKEN

 I love this guy over here.Not only he is multi-talented and hilarious but it feels like he is dealing with life with the proper madness.And what he can do in 34 seconds? A Uk top 40 maybe? Jack Black’s Minecraft song "Steve’s Lava Chicken" becomes shortest ever UK Top 40 hit.Of course the "Minecraft" movie is the unexpected blockbuster in 2025 and it still spreading so "Steve's Lava Chicken" will continue to be spicy on the charts. The previous record-holder for the shortest Uk top 40 was by two seconds longer. The Ladies’ Bras was an equally silly song by UK duo Jonny Trunk & Wisbey, with a chorus of "the ladies’ bras, the ladies’ bras / the ladies’ knickers and the ladies’ bras".Steve’s Lava Chicken is Black’s highest UK chart position yet, beating both his track "Pod" with duo Tenacious D (No 24 in 2006) and another song from a video game-film tie-in: "Peaches" his power ballad performed as nefarious pixellated reptile Bowser in 2023’s "The Super Mario Bros Movie", which reached No 28.Any djs out there to transform it into a summer dance anthem? I think it will happen pretty soon...

Nothing fancy here by Timo, just a regular new disco sound with Alison Goldfrapp on vocals just enough to sustain the fact that PMD is the best of his kind.

If you didn't see that coming yes it's true.In anticipation of his upcoming 2025 "One Assassination Under God" tour, iconic shock rocker Marilyn Manson has released a cover of luminary musician Phil Collins's seminal song "In The Air Tonight". Of course no one can beat the original version that still rings in our ears after so many decades but this rock version by Manson is something that i guess you want to hear.After all his version on Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams" was an unexpected good one in a different way. Phil Collins 3x platinum 1981 hit single "In The Air Tonight" by Manson is a great idea don't you think?

 There is only one "boss" and there will be no other.His brand new release "Blind Spot" comes from "The Streets Of Philadelphia" era and you can hear it all over it.This song is part of the "Streets of Philadelphia Sessions" that  will be released in full on "Tracks II: The Lost Albums" a ten-song collection previously known to fans as his long-rumored "loops record". Written on the heels of its Oscar-winning namesake, "Streets of Philadelphia Sessions" found Springsteen exploring an interest in the rhythms of mid-1990s contemporary music, and particularly West Coast hip-hop. "Blind Spot" is a song which explores doubt and betrayal in relationships.Strangely Springsteen decided to put aside this track but released it as a single 30 years later this week.And we couldn't be more delighted from this hidden gem for so long.

 As "Henry Come On" was the first taste from Lana Del Rey's brand new album in less than a week we have another one.And as if Easter mood wasn't enough "Bluebird" comes on to fit perfectly on this day.With vocals that highlight the sensitivity and depth of Del Rey's performance the song is intimate, skeletal, and almost too quiet at some parts.The song’s production is airy and ethereal, layered with light pillowy synths, distant Deep South guitars soaked in reverb, flooded with strings and the trickle of piano.More or less i m bored and not in the mood...

I ve spotted for quite sometime now that rock music is on the rise and it's the first time after a very very long time that a rock song is inside the Uk top 10 since Sleep Token's "Caramel" made a huge impact in every way.We will see more of them in the future especially from metal and rock bands.And Swedish Ghost are another perfect example of what it's happening in music right now. Shortly after Ghost shared the song "Satanized," as well as the details for their upcoming new album "Skeleta", "Lachryma" (means tear in Latin) is the second taste a bonafide modern day rock anthem about weeping.The band’s new "Papa", Papa V Perpetua , makes his debut in the best possible way so forget Ghost's pop side and enter into a more doom-heavy beat, before exploding into an almost celebratory sing-along chorus – classic Ghost formula, but heavier, more charged.

PULP - SPIKE ISLAND

 The Sheffield band have been one of the biggest and most influential Brit Pop acts of the 90s.Pulp are back with a brand new album after 24 years with "Spike Island" as the first taste from "More" which is going to be released on June 6.. They have some of the biggest hits of the 90s including "Common People", "Disco 2000" and "Do you Remember the First Time".After their reunion tour in 2023-2024 Jarvis Cocker, frontman of Pulp said "We played one of our new songs during that tour and no one threw things at us on stage or got up to go to the bar. So we said let's keep going and see where we get".The result is obvious on "Spike Island" and we are more than glad they are back.

 From the late 90s to 2025 is a long way to go and after their appearence at this year's Brits there is something going on with the Sugababes return.The trio starring Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhán Donaghy surprise-released the track "Weeds" which is actually above the average good.The song has an emotional depth, great instrumentation and production grounded in the signature vocal harmony that has always defined the trio.. It’s a song about the beauty that grows in unexpected places just as unexpected was the repeat mode that comes right after the first play.Great song that deserves the hit status.

SOMBR - UNDRESSED

 Make no mistake that Sombr will be big this year. The Timothee Chamalet look alike singer not only rides the charts with "Back To Friends" but his latest single "Undressed" is for me even better and catchier.With all the big hits remaining for weeks on the charts artists like Sombr and Alex Warren are the breathe of fresh air this year and will stay with us at least until the end of the summer.Yes the Tik Tok algorithm was kind to Sombr building him a growing fan base but you won't stay for long unless you prove your talent.I sense that Sombr has it and "Undressed" will be eventually big this year.

BIGXTHAPLUG & BAILEY ZIMMERMAN - ALL THE WAY

 Not the first time rap music meets country and the other way around.Tested before, it works especially in the States so this "pluggin" eventually will be a hit on Billboard and why not elsewhere."All The Way" combines Zimmerman’s country roots with BigXthaPlug’s Southern hip-hop prowess as the two artists channel their emotions in a song about a breakup.An acoustic guitar provides Zimmerman's  lyrical framework, as BigXthaPlug steps in letting his spoken words pack a punch providing his own flavour. BigXthaPlug has long been a fan of country music, and for a while now, he has been hinting at a full-length country-leaning project. "All The Way" sets that project in motion as the multi-platinum breakout star continues to explore his cross-genre creativity.

Thank god glimpses of soul and RnB are getting more and more attention lately and maybe a brighter future for this genre is upon us.After releasing his latest album "Mutt" on September 2024 nothing really happened until now. Signed to Ty Dolla $ign's newly launched EZMNY Records imprint, which was a joint venture deal with Motown a path of promotion was created and several months after it's release the title track of the album is riding the Billboard Hot 100 with a potential top 20 on the way.Many reviewed the album as the best RnB album of 2024 not only for its musicality but also for its cultural impact.It's always great to be infused on the radio with songs like this one.

SLEEP TOKEN - CARAMEL

 There are a dozen of metal bands right now that are making their way to the itunes the only problem is that there is not support from the radios and social platforms.Well Sleep Token are one of them with a monumental emergence, and an upcoming album "Even In Arcadia", due on May 9.Their first single "Emergence" has become the biggest rock streaming debut of the year and now they released the genre-bending "Caramel" that is actually a rather mainstream cut (well most of it).The masked band holds for a third day a high downloading profile which makes this single their potential biggest hit so far.Their album "Even In Arcadia" is expected to push the boundaries of sound and emotion even further, dissolving into something otherworldly. Widely considered one of the biggest rock bands in Britain, Sleep Token are expanding their fame across the sea over the Usa and around the world.Need a "Caramel"? Tell me how it tastes...

 It seems that music that can be heard in tv series or video games have replaced the songs from soundtracks in a big way.And since the Netflix series "Devil May Cry" not only has a soundtrack but also is very popular then it's only natural for Evanescence's "Afterlife" to be tranding these days.Amy Lee teased that Afterlife was "the first of many" new songs, and said that the band we are "working on a lot of songs right now for the new album".This is a typical Evanescence alternative metal jam that will please fans and many of the people out there that more and more as i said before are turning into rock-metal sound again.

 Rudimental are one of the biggest names of this genre that doesn't often reach many parts of the world but that doesn't mean they can't get in your playlist no matter what.Ahead of Rudimental’s Coachella debut during weekend one, the group joins forces with Khalid on their latest collaboration"All I Know" seamlessly blends Rudimental’s signature gospel-infused instrumentation with a classic drum and bass arrangement, while Khalid’s evocative vocals elevate the song into an emotionally charged anthem about love, connection, and solace.This is a good choice among the new releases this week.

 Are you ready to "Surrender" to this collaboration?Alesso's collab with Becky Hill openly references Eurotrance sounds that is currently trending once again among djs.This is not their first musical collaboration since Becky Hill was one of the creators of "Words" another hit by Alesso, which featured Zara Larsson on vocals.With Coachella on the horizon where Alesso will hit the Quasar stage for a back-to-back set with Gorgon City "Surrender" feels primed to be one of the defining tracks of festival season.

MILEY CYRUS - END OF THE WORLD

 That's more like it and a proper single for Miley and the rest of the world.After the first bitter introduction to her new album with "Something Beautiful" here comes the sweetener "End Of The World" that somehow sounds like the next part or an answer to "Die With A Smile".This is Miley's pop side that we all love and adore that will serve so much better on the radio and on the charts."End Of The World" is a pop-rock song about partying during the apocalypse. Not as much impressed when i first heard "Flowers" but i guess it will eventually grow if the radio will embrace it with a power play.

ED SHEERAN - AZIZAM

 When it comes to the ginger boy thins are easy.Ed Sheeran has always been the master of creating a pop moment.His brand new single "Azizam" which in Persian means "my dear" is the lead single of Ed's forthcoming eighth studio album, an LP he's teased that will be much more pop-focused.The Persian influence of the track, is down to the track's producer, ILYA (Ilya Salmanzadeh) a mega-producer borned in Iran before moving to Sweden aged 11 and member of Max Martin's WolfCousins cohort who has worked closely with the likes of Ariana Grande (Into You, yes, and?), Ellie Goulding (Love Me Like You Do) and Sam Smith (Unholy) in the past.The song is not a masterpiece but it will swarm the radios all over the world and ride the charts over the next many weeks.

JENNIE - LIKE JENNIE

 For several weeks now "Like Jennie" by Jennie is among the biggest hits on the Global Top 10.And while the South Korean pop star dominates the world with this one so far there is no reaction on the Uk and Usa charts in a big way.This is an electronic maelstrom with touches of Brazilian funk with a fierce video that makes you dance "Like Jennie" with an electric choreography throughout, the song.So far it's the biggest hit from her album that features sother singles including "Mantra"  "Love Hangover" featuring Dominic Fike, "Zen" and "ExtraL" featuring Doechii. Other collaborators on the album include Dua Lipa, Childish Gambino, Kali Uchis and FKJ.

KESHA ft T-PAIN - YIPPEE-KI-YAY

 Of course she would try the country style with a pop flavour.Kesha meets T-Pain and they are taking us straight back to the 2010s, with this "Yippee-Ki-Yay" country twist.This is a playful, genre-blending anthem and the lead single from Kesha’s upcoming album after her experimentations in music without success.This cheesy piece of party-up pop-country have more chances to make it in the States where country music dominates airwaves, charts and streaming rather than Europe but you never know.Not really crazy about it but in time you might even like it.
