LORDE - MAN OF THE YEAR

 Lorde's return with her first single from her upcoming new album "Virgin" wasn't exactly a chart hit as it was expected although it has the sound of alt-dance-pop that youngsters like at this point.This time she returns with a personal second single that comes from "very deep inside her."The track touches, almost in a whisper, on gender identity. She wrote "Man of the Year" during a period where she had stopped taking birth control, been diagnosed with premenstrual dysphoric ­disorder and was exploring her gender identity.This is so personal that few can relate to apart from critics that will praise it.

LORDE - WHAT WAS THAT

 The queens of alternative pop one by one are dropping their brand new music and now it's Lorde's turn.The singer-songwriter has returned with "What Was That" a hypnotic, synth-pop number that harkens back to her Melodrama era.Lorde took her time on releasing this one since it's been quite some time after the not so succesfull "Solar Power" album.The upbeat sound of "What Was That" suits her better it's closer to a Charli XCX sound and in my opinion this single it is destined to be a hit all summer long.She needed that she chose wisely and this is what modern pop sounds like in 2025.

LORDE - MOOD RING

 She is about to expose her ass in the sun as "Solar Power' is about to be released. After two tragic first singles here comes a good one. I hate when critics make divine comments as if we are stupid and we don't know what we hear. The first two singles received what they deserved and this one should too. "Mood Ring" is a great guitar driven song and it kinda reminds a bit of Nelly Furtado's "Why do all good things comes to an end". I would gladly hear this on the radio..

LORDE - SOLAR POWER

 This is the anticipated new single from New Zealands Lorde and you can find it in it's full glory at the Sound Fist Facebook page. The question is if this late 60's early 70's hippie inspired new single can move the heads and ears in the radio. Well the critics may love it but this is not a commercial single for the radio. I don't know if Lorde has some hidden aces in her sleeves but the good reviews from the critics can not provide easily the wide audience. Anyway this is her choice love it or leave it..

Άλλωστε χρειάζεται με αυτή την παγωνιά κάτι που να ανάβει τα αίματα ακόμα και αν αυτό προέρχεται από τα ηχεία σας και όχι από τα θερμαντικά σας σώματα. Γιατί η μουσική έχει την δυνατότητα να προσφέρει απ όλα και για αυτό η ύπαρξη αυτού του blog. Και με χιόνια και με ζέστη κάτι τέτοια είναι βούτυρο στο ψωμί μου...
