I love them both so this collab couldn't be a loss. Elderbrook & Bob Moses are equally underrated and they deserve some much more than blogs and critics writing about how good they are. Find your "Inner Light" with this release and let it shine in your speakers. Summer or any other season songs like that never betray you so spread the sound. I am one step before my summer vacations and this one is already on board.
When i started blogging in English i asked in advance sorry for my English. They might not be perfect but you get the general idea for my reviews. I honestly don't know what it takes for Chvrches to find the success they deserve but if a remix could help then so be it. Their last singles were really good and this mainstream remix for the djs of "Good Girls" by KC Lights makes no excuse. Radios and djs often uses the excuse of the saying people don't know those songs they are not hits but i really ask who makes the hits.Start playing songs that worth it..
The maestro the 8 times nominee for an Oscar and one of the greatest composers of all time collaborates with Metallica for a special version of the ultra classic "Nothing Else Matters". This version plays a key role to the new Disney Movie "Jungle Cruise" with Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt and of course is something that must be kept like a small treasure in your playlist. On September we are waiting for "The Black List" by Metallica and of course many more new versions of our beloved songs from the classic album.
Uncage yourself from the music forms you hear on repeat that sounds identical for purposes that serves only music factories. Djs should open their minds to melodies, radio playlist should be banned and radio producers must come back with full freedom of expression. So many musical terms that means nothing and streaming producing fake hits. Blogs are still free and you can really hear great stuff not only the hits. It takes a lot of my time to seperate the music you should find here from the garbage that is released in tons out there. And songs like "Rainmaker" will produce breeze inside and outside. Duch producer Nathassia and India's Gar should have a massive hit with this one. Not only the vocals but the saxophone and the general production is so different from the rest autistic dance beats that makes "Rainmaker" one of the dance anthems of the summer. Special Tee provides the remix and just like that 90's are back...
Both Dermot Kennedy and Tom Grennan are the two artists in the Uk charts with the most appealing and potential the last few months. Will they remain like that or vanish in the jungle of the music industry nobody knows. The optimistic and piano driven new Dermot Kennedy single "Better Days" is a very good choice between the new arrivals in music this week and definetely a future chart hit in the island. After the success with Meduza and a little break in dance music the Irish artist is here with what he knows best...
The only way to bring back good music like soul to the hits is only if artist like Bruno Mars and other super stars invest on making these kind of songs. Soul & Rock needs that more than anyone else and here we have another fine example. The second single by Bruno Mars, Anderson.Paak as Silk Sonic after the success of "Leave The Door Open" is another soul gem this time more rhythmic that brings back 80's feeling with a lot of skate rolling (remember that?) and all the good music we had once. Actually lots of it..
I just heard the new Billie Eilish album "Happier Than Ever" and i have a first verdict. Some say that Eilish is at her flop era just because she couldn't manage to have another new number one hit. And i say let's stop making every BTS single a number one so we could hear finally and something else. Not to mention that Eilish's music is very unique, and you can't say that is mainstream in the right term. The album has it's moments and some dark very dark turns. In those she reminded me Lana Del Rey but in electronic form or a Del Rey that needs exorcism. All the songs needs deeper listening are difficult for mainstream radios and there is only one with a dance beat "Oxytocin" that is also a potential single. The song that i liked the most and it's just right for the rest of the summer is "Billie Bossa Nova" that sounds like a summer breeze in the long hot days..
It is already a bad habit listening to Ed Sheeran's latest single but it's a habit we all like i think. Hopefully "Bad Habits" will remain for a fith week at the top of the Uk chart but it has a strong competition from Dave who is going to have 3 singles from his new album inside the Top 10 with "Clash" being a strong contestant for the top. After all the success it's time for some remixes that will put Ed Sheeran into dance music. First official remix comes from Meduza with great Eurythmics feel like synths and an electronic dress that makes it a really can't stop pushing the play button. Brilliant remix and there are more to come really soon...
Both they are hit makers. So what happens when they collaborate together? The result is called "Drive" and has Wes Nelson on vocals. It sounds like an obvious hit that can stands anywhere but the term hit is so fragile these days especially when it sounds like anything else. That's what i said about the collab between Topic and Bebe Rexha but it lost it's way to the charts. Anyway for what it is i m ok with "Drive" and the road is ready for driving..For more be sure to follow Sound Fist on Facebook!!!
Farruko is one of the most well known and popular latin artists in the world. There is a big market for these songs that spreads many times around the world. Is "Pepas" his new single one of them. Well i don't think so but the song keeps on rising on the streaming services and the charts in some countries. It is taken from his new album "LA167" and if this is the kind of music that makes you happy the you should check it out. For now my review is based on the performance of the song and not in my musical taste. After all we have heard a lot similar songs before..
As we are moving to August music will go on to a short of vacation too with fewer important new releases. This doesn't mean that you can't listen to songs worth listening to. And "Ani Kuni" is a summertime bob with western movie feeling from the Parisian duo.It can be found in their new album "Cyclorama" and surely is something you won't regret listening to..
Old club hits that was really loved by a lot of people keeps on coming back again and again. And many times they find the way to chart again either as samples or remakes. This time we have "Calabria" by DMNDS and Fallen Angels that brings back the memory of the original that was a hit back in 2007. I can't say that it doesn't work again and djs have already have their hands on it..
Luca Schreiner does what he knows best at Pink's latest single. His specialty in remixing these kind of songs makes him hard to get but he couldn't resist to one of the best female artists in the last decades. But even so the charts for Pink is hard to reach in the highest positions but don't bother about that as long as you get good music from her.
Camelphat continous their string of remixes this time on Yousef and The Angel's "Float Away". Very atmospheric and energetic Camelphat continue to provide some of the best dance music out there. Dance music is always a place to look for nice music and this one is one of the new releases that sounds worth listening to.
There is something wrong with the Billboard chart that makes it unreliable. Last week "Permission To Dance" replaced "Butter" in the number one that made it fall to number six. Tommorow "Butter" will return to number one after only one week overcoming the gap of five other songs in a strange way. What made this return and what changed. Anyway charts that don't rely only to sales and radio airplay like the old days makes the charts look like a bad joke especially in the USA. Don't bas your playlist to what it's a hit and what's not cause you ll be missing a lot of good songs.
On the other hand rappers are the persons that can shoot to the musical stardome so fast making artists like Sleepy Hallow hitmakers in a blink of an eye. He is becoming the latest trend with "2055" that sounds good by the way and i prefer it from other songs that already hits in the same category...
Every day i try to value the new songs that i have so that i can tell you my opinion about them. I think the musicshifting of Alessia Cara in one of the two new songs she presented is memorable and needs to be mentioned."Shapeshifter" sounds like Amy Winehouse and is o whole different aspect of what she can do musically. I couldn't but love this one and is already playlisted in my favourites this week..
Sampling helps djs and producers to make their songs more appealing to the public. It's a head start for most of them and a nice reminder for all of us who lived the original release. This trance banger with sample from the "Sun Rising" by the Beloved makes "Bebe Musica" by Ben Hemsley one of the must play this summer (and beyond). Dance music needs big rooms and crowded places but till then we love listening to tracks like this one..
Every part of the world has it's own local hits domestic or foreign. So is Greece with Coyot's new single rising high and fast in Greece's radios and charts. "Remember" with the eastern sounds and belaeric attitude is something that suits our culture and our musical taste. So the Greek Coyot after "Devil In Disguise" is racing all the other hits from international artists like equal and to tell you the truth if you are reading this from abroad take a listen. It might surprise you..
It's not that i hate summer but high temperatures makes me sick. In that case if summer dies early it's perfectly fine with me. Same thing as the alternative version of the new Deadmau5 single along with Lights on vocals. This is more an electronic disco version with vibes that suits me better making "When The Summer Dies" really delicious for my playlist...
This infusion of Paul McCartney's music who is still is an active legend in music with great and alternative musicians like Beck is something you should check when you are in search of music. It can be found in the latest McCartney album with reimagined songs from "McCartney III" called "McCartney III Imagined". Check also the video for the song with a deepfake appearence of Beck as a young Beatle.
Claydee Lupa is one of the most well known music producers in Greece with many hits under his belt. Few weeks ago i presented his latest single "Detente" which grows day by day in the greek radios and streaming platforms. This is the first remix that came in my hands and it adds more edm feeling to it and less latin vibes. It's a matter of choice or you can use both...
Well let's see this is the second year that clubbing is forbitten and listening to dance music can only be heard in a safe mode. I can't imagine a better way seeing the sunset in a beautiful location with the new single by Monolink in the background. Let the world turning forget for a minute everything and let "Turning Away" show you the path to the sunset. This man has the ability with his music both calm you and the same time make you wanna dance. I ll be waiting the remixes from this one and it's something i definitely reccomend...
Sofi Tukker's "Drinkee" was responsible for introducing us one of the most interesting dance acts the last years. The song could be consider as a dance classic for those who knows about dance music. On the other hand Vintage Culture is responsible for the biggest dance success of the year since he remixes Shouse's "Love Tonight". Together with John Summit they reimagine "Drinkee" in a big club way for those who needs the bpms wherever they are..
David Guetta is almost everywhere!!! This week he has two UK top 10 hits one with Galantis & Little Mix and one with Becky Hill. Not to mention the remixes he makes for different projects since he is not able to perform live to different events. This is the VIP remix he made for "Remember" which is for edm lovers and speakers that can handle rough sounds. Not my thing but it might interests some of you..
The Kid Laroi ties his highest chart position in the Uk chart with the Justin Bieber duet. And there is more to come from the young Australian. His fame is exploding and very soon i think he is going to score his first number one not only in Uk. His Ep "Fuck Love 3" is going to have another single very soon and another hit. "Not Sober" with Polo G and Stunna Gambino sounds like a ready radio heavy rotation and a worldwide hit. Get ready for this while you repeat "Stay" and remember my words..
If you re searching for music only at the charts then you are missing a great part of what it could be your main playlist. For example The Chemical Brothers are not singles chart favourites anymore but they are back with "The Darkness That You Fear" their brand new single. This one is what serves as the b side of the 12 inch vinyl version and it's banging with all the electronic beats you want. For almost 9 minutes you re gonna get electrified from the duo that doesn't seem to forget how it's done...
Do you wanna know exactly how fat pop can get? Well as much as Paul Weller and Pet Shop Boys Together. The weight of these two in the music history is huge and it's not very easy to measure it. Paul Weller has a new album out called "Fat Pop" and "Cosmic Fringes" is the latest single from it. That's where Pet Shop Boys are coming in to make this almost 12 minutes remix just for the pleasure of their fans. Even though i didnt get as much thrilled listening to it as much when i read about it there is so much music history in it you just have to keep it somewhere..
Since Greek is my native language i find it sometimes hard to describe what i m hearing and this one left me speechless when i first heard it. The Foo Fighters for the Record Store Day transformed to Dee Gees and the Gis are in the maximum velocity. I feel that whoever can step out from his shoes and become someone else for various reasons deserves respect. And here we have a great example with "Hail Satin" where Foo Fighters in six songs are paying tribute to the great Bee Gees in a unique way!!!
Now who wants some "Therapy". What if i tell you that Anne-Marie's "Therapy" album will be avaliable from tommorow. If not you can "Kiss My (Uh-Oh)" and wait your turn for another treatment. Anne-Marie is building a pop career in the British industry as around the world. Maybe the Usa doorbell hasn't rung yet in a big way but who knows. After the Niall Horan collab another one this time with Little Mix (tommorow with Galantis and David Guetta will hit number two in the Uk charts) are aiming for a high chart position with a single that is pure pop.At least that's what i predict if my modjo still works...
It's almost two years since the last Camila Cabello single and all we needed was something that is latin and with a summer feeling. Well there you have it....Even though it's more like a traditional latin than a pop song "Don;t Go Yet" could work but not in a big way i think. I don't know if this choice has something to do with the film she is making (Cinderella) but the origins of her heritage is there and finally what the hell is summer we need that..
The success of "Montero" was so big that the promotion of the second single was nada and now comes the third one claiming the follow up. Lil Nas X uses in every way his sexual orientation for the reasons we all can imagine but this might turn back as a boomerang if he continues like that. "Industry Baby" ft Jack Harlow follows the steps of "Montero" and even though is very hard for me to make a verdict as a review i think it's a good single. How the radios will react to this one or the listeners is something we will find out very soon. And i repeat if you don't know what the password at the end stands for you better ask for permission to follow Sound Fist page at Facebook...
In case you are new here the password that can be found in the end of the post is something you can use only if you are members of Sound Fist's Facebook page. In case you are living like all of us a "New Normal" in your life then Khalid has the right song for you. It took a long time to get recognized by the music industry and get well known but now he did it's always a pleasure to hear nice songs because of artists like him. "New Normal" sound to me like a broadway soul anthem and it's the first taste from his upcoming album "Everything Is Changing".
I ve been a long Prince fan for years. I even traveled abroad to see him live in concert at Webley arena back in the 1990 and i m so glad i did. He was an extrordinary personality in music and i never expected the tragic end. But Prince was a so much working artist that there are a lot of music left behind. The long lost album "Welcome 2 America" is about to be released and "Hot Summer" is the third single from it. It brings back to mind the music Prince made for the masses but with his personal taste on it. At some point he stopped doing that and became more eclectic but still Prince was the Purple One. This song was recorded back in 2010 and can still be one of the ultimate summer songs. Both are hot hot hot...
This "Blacklist" made by many artists covering Metallica and not Reddington is very interesting if you only just read the names. So this J Balvin cover of "Wherever I May Roam" it's like opposites attract. The combination of latin rap and the guitar riffs of Metallica are so sick that shows that the boundaries between genres are phenomenical only. Anything can happen after pressing the play button. You have been warned...
The Canadian rapper Belly promised the biggest record of the year. Well here it is and you can judge for yourself. The Weeknd plays a key role to "Better Believe" since his intro and chorus marks his presence and Young Thug makes his rap appearence as usual. Since many of the songs reviewed here are very very new and there is no full audio yet you have to follow Sound Fist at Facebook for more....
I dont know a song yet with The Weeknd on it that doesn't make waves to the chart so i m guessing next week will be listed to the major charts and radios you better believe it....
Even Coldplay decided to collaborate with BTS and i hate to think the idea that Coldplay needed that just to make a chart hit. Yes the brand BTS sells but it's becoming annoying to promote so much a group that has nothing special to offer. The new Coldplay album will be titled "Music Of The Spheres" and "My Universe" will be definitely a single beside an album track. This is a single made for radio even though the compose is very common and usual as many tracks does. This means that i can listen to it as many times as i can handle but it won't be my favourite track of the year..
Today is my name date so i had a little time for blogging. You know phonecalls wishes etc. Now that i found a little space i think it's time for Paul Kalkbrenner's latest single. "Si Soy Fuego" will take you to his world of dance music and for whoever is familiar with his work this is a nice place. For the rest it's time to take part of a mild fuego dance anthem that will leave you with some burns but it's ok...
Sia is an extrordinary talent in music and we know it for years now. This doesn't mean that you won't face flops cause the movie "Music" and the OST that's what it was. Not because the music was bad. And to prove that this song by Sia with the additions of Amir on vocals and Banx & Ranx on the remix makes it one of the best summer songs you will hear this year.Anyway "1+1" equals good feeling so...
Maisie Peters is a new fruit in England's pop culture. Actress and singer Maisie is gearing up for her first album in late August titled "You Signed Up For This" and "Psycho" is a single co-written by Ed Sheeran. And even though the original version is in Uk charts flirting with high positions in it a Joel Corry remix for it sounds to me more interesting that might boosts the sales and the radio plays.Either way Maisie Peters is in the pop world already and you might become more familiar with her in the future..
In England starts a social experiment with vaccinated people (some) and no more covid restrictions. I m very curious to see how this will work (or not) experiment that some other countries tried before with unpleasent outcome. In England Ed Sheeran will remain for a fourth week at number one while Galantis with David Gietta & Little Mix will receive the highest position so far for "Hearbreak Anthem". I will wish no more hearbreaks for the island with this Tchami remix of the hit which is a dj tool but a little bit weird for my taste..
Well the Swedish House Mafia seems to play with our nerves and with the hype. This was officially by the press the new SHM single before "It Gets Better" suddenly hit the web. This sounds like the mainstream single for the radios and the charts with Ty Dolla Sign & 070 Shake on the vocals. If this one brings to mind the collaboration between Daft Punk & The Weeknd you will not be the only ones. I guess this one will be all over the radios in the next week and you will be from the first ones to hear it if you follow Sound Fist in the social medias...
Finally Kovacs who made a big impact some years ago with "My Love" has a single out that seems it can be one of our favourites this summer. And what do we need in the summer? A song that smells tastes and sounds like the favourite (for many) season of the year. We serve you a "Tutti Frutti Tequila" in heavy doses everytime you press the play button and enjoy your vacations under the sound of Kovacs...
Time for some vintage pop now. Time for a song that sounds timeless that has Greek origins since it's made by Ian Ikon a Greek mucisian who brings to life what music sounded some decades ago. And for that he recruits the excellent German crooner Tom Gaebel to present "My Heart Is Lost". For those who don't have an autistic perspective of the music this is something to fall in love with and really lost your heart...
With BTS replacing themselves at the top of the Billboard with their new single next week there is not much left for artists like Yola except maybe blogs and alternative radios that shares good music. Cause good music and good artists excists out there and all you have to do is a little search. In the next few days Yola will presents her album "Stand For Myself" where you can find her newest single "Starlight".This soulish pop rock blues gem (don't make me discribe it) is something that needs to release it's airwaves this summer in every occasion...
This is not a traditional music blog. I don't write my reviews based the common standards. I don't gain anything else but a creative spending of time with what i love. Of course there are my social media to follow for more than my reviews but i m not going to make this the main purpose. Only the ones who wants it bad and likes the music as much as i do can find the ways to join them. I believe that MK has a great back up catalogue and his latest single wasn't exactly my favourite. But this remix from LP Giobbi gives it a whole new perspective that makes it really really interesting..
To celebrate pride month Soulwax has released this remix of an iconic song and artist."You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" by Sylvester is a classic with the full meaning of the term. It is and it will continue to be a symbol not only in disco but in music gennerally. This over10 minutes remix is a real treat for your pleasure only unless your musical taste is poor. For now and forever it's a classic and a remix to stay in your playlist. How does it feel?
Another remix for the latest single by Calvin Harris & Tom Grennan. This time is by Felix Jaehn and i can surely say that even this one is better than the original. I think that the success of the song in the Uk Top 10 had a lot to do by the presence of Tom Grennan in the vocals and not of the composition by Calvin. In the Uk chart it's more than sure that nexto week Ed Sheeran is going to spend his fourth week at the top while Jonasu with "Black Magic" is going to be the next dance anthem eyeing high in the Uk Top 10 next week..
"Iko Iko" remains one of the hottest songs in Europe and other parts of the world due to Tik Tok of course and the remixes that sustain Justin Wellington's hit keep on coming. Imanbek seeks desperately another hit if it's only by a new remix. So he keeps remixing and this one is for dancefloors. Personally i prefer the tropical original vibe but who am i to disagree. I just say my opininion and maybe i give some rounds listening to this...
It's not the first time they collab but this caome back single from Normani is supposed to put her in the stardome of the music business. Till now the songstress was a very well known music artists but the top was yet to conquer. Her new album will have some more major collabs like the one with Sam Smith but i ll wait to hear the outcome. As for the first single i wasn't that much impressed compare to other songs that i hear. It's not a bad single but i won't sleep and wake up with it on my mind..
Posthumous to posthumous the new Pop Smoke album is out and it has major collaborations with some of the most well known artists in the world. The "Faith" album contains this song with Dua Lipa that seems everyone was focusing and it's going to be a major or minor hit the next weeks. "Demeanor" sounds more like a pop soul song with the rapping vocals by the late rapper being the central course and the Dua Lipa vocals at one verse serves the spicy part of the song...
