PRINCE - STONE

 Today would have been Prince's birthday and his vault is once again opened for some unreleased material just a glimpse of his genious.The Prince Estate has announced the release of the new album , "Timeless" a special collection featuring ten previously unreleased songs. The album is set for release on August 28th and "Stone" serves as the first single.This song was recorded in the spring of 1995 while the upcoming album contains previously unreleased material from Prince’s entire career spanning nearly four decades of musical production. The songs come from recordings made between 1977 and 2016, the year the great artist passed away, offering a unique insight into his evolution as a composer, performer and producer.The title "Timeless" is not enough for his musical genius.

PRINCE - SIGN "O" THE TIMES (LIVE IN ROTTERDAM 1987)

 I could write a lot about this song, the artist, my experience seeing him live but the words could not describe in full the feeling unless you have experienced it while it was happening."Sign O’ The Times" is a 1987 concert film depicting the Sign O’ The Times Tour, starring and directed by Prince.If you want to experience the power of Prince live in ATMOS and the previously unreleased live track of "Sign O’ The Times (Live at Rotterdam 1987)" all you have to do is stream it cause it has been re-released.This man is (and not was) the GOAT for so many reasons that many understand and us lucky have experienced.

PRINCE - BABY DOLL

 Prince's vault is full of treasures for them to be fully exposed (i hope) at some time. For many years we knew that there was a demo somewhere for a Prince and Kylie Minogue collab that didn't happen in the form we wanted to."Baby Doll" is an unreleased track recorded in late April - early May 1992 at Sydney.The lyrics were written by Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue and the track was intended for her. The song is listed here as a "Prince and the New Power Generation" track, as Kylie Minogue did not re-recorded it and the only version that is known to exist is by the full band with Prince on lead vocals.. Apparently, this recording of "Baby Doll" was supposed to be included on a 2022 archival compilation that the Prince Estate axed for some reason. It has that bit of disco flair that Minogue was cranking out on her own records around the same time.Well that song leaked online and with great pleasure is here for all you Purple one fans.

 There will never be another one like him and he will be missed dearly.Luckily enough there is a Prince vault that now and then gives us gems like this one even if it's jazzy as hell."Silver Tongue (Demo)" was released on 13 July 2004, as a "virtual b-side" to "Call My Name". PRINCE - MAGNIFICENT

 Hard to believe I know but few days back it was eight years since Prince died, aged just 57.Maybe the greatest mucisian ever excisted Prince vault is still full of his music ready to be released sometime in the future."Magnificent" was released as a "virtual b-side" to "Musicology", the first single from Prince’s 28th album "Musicology". The single itself did not receive a retail or download release in North America. In Europe "Musicology" received a retail release, but it did not feature "Magnificent" as a b-side. On 26 April 2024, three weeks after the digital release of virtual b-side "United States Of Division", "Magnificent" was released as a stand alone digital track by Prince’s estate as part of the 20th anniversary campaign for the "Musicology" album.There will never be another one like him because he was just "Magnificent".

Prince's vault is full of pure gems and a legacy that gave to the world with his talent and his genious.The fourth previously unreleased recording to come from the upcoming "Diamonds And Pearls" Super Deluxe Edition is "Get Blue". This song was originally crafted for the artist Louie Louie (and released on his Let’s Get Started album in 1993). However on this recording, Prince gives a committed and sensual delivery as if it were for his own project.There were so many songs that the Purple One gave to other artists and this one is full of his majestic soul roots that many times created  the perfect sound surrounding wherever i was.There are still so many songs to be heard from his vault.On October 27 the super deluxe version of "Diamonds And Pearls" will be avaliable for everyone.Get into Prince's magic music world.It will make you better...

PRINCE - 7 (E FLAT VERSION)

 "7 (E Flat Version)" is an unreleased remix of Prince’s song "7", which initially appeared on his "Love Symbol" album. This remix version was recorded on August 9th, 1992 and previewed last month at Paisley Park’s Celebration 2023, where attendees were gifted this track and another unreleased original song "All A Share Together Now" by Prince on special cassette-shaped USB keys. As promised, the two Vault releases are now available to all Prince fans worldwide for the first time, as part of an emerging Prince Vault Series and as a followup to the wonderfully successful Celebration 2023. The Purple One is (not was) unique.

PRINCE - DO ME BABY (DEMO)

 I could write about Prince for days. The best thing i ever did for music was going to one of his concerts back in 1990 to Wembley Arena to see his glory in full effect. His best period was of course in the 80's and early 90's when suddenly started doing stuff outside of the box and only from his musical mastermind only for those who could follow. He did that and in the early days but he wanted his music to be heard as much as possible. After his glory days he became more private and eclectic. This track was an outstanding classic from his "Controversy" album one of my personal best and an erotic epic anthem with no match. A rare demo version recorded back in 1979 with no "sexual content" in it as the album version was released these days as a celebration to the 40th anniversary of "Controversy" and it's a real treat for all those who love his music. Of course the album version is in another level but the basic elements are there...

PRINCE - HOT SUMMER

 I ve been a long Prince fan for years. I even traveled abroad to see him live in concert at Webley arena back in the 1990 and i m so glad i did. He was an extrordinary personality in music and i never expected the tragic end. But Prince was a so much working artist that there are a lot of music left behind. The long lost album "Welcome 2 America" is about to be released and "Hot Summer" is the third single from it. It brings back to mind the music Prince made for the masses but with his personal taste on it. At some point he stopped doing that and became more eclectic but still Prince was the Purple One. This song was recorded back in 2010 and can still be one of the ultimate summer songs. Both are hot hot hot...

PRINCE - CONTROVERSY ( KEVIN McKAY EDIT)

Κάποια στιγμή ως έφηβος, άρχισα και εγώ να ακούω μουσική. Οι επιλογές μου στην αρχή ήταν η χορευτική ή ηλεκτρονική pop (τότε στα καλύτερα της) έχοντας απορρίψει άλλα είδη τα οποία μου φαινόντουσαν ξένα. Μέχρι που κάποια στιγμή έρχεται το "Purple Rain" και ο Prince. Θεωρώ πως ήταν ο άνθρωπος που πάντρευε τόσα πολλά είδη μεταξύ τους που λειτούργησε ως κολλητική ουσία σε όλα αυτά που ακούω σήμερα. Και όσο πιο πολύ άρχισα να τον ψάχνω τα πριν αλλά και τα μετά τόσο όλο αυτό το blend ήρθε και γεφύρωσε την μουσική σε μία. Πέρασαν πριν μερικές μέρες 4 χρόνια κιόλας από τότε που ολοκλήρωσε τον εν ζωή κύκλο του γιατί αυτός συνεχίζεται μέσα από την μουσική του και από άλλους. Το edit αυτό είναι ένα πολύ μικρό δείγμα του γιατί...

PRINCE - HOLLY ROCK

Καλή εβδομάδα soundfisters...
Ηχογραφήθηκε την ίδια περίοδο που ηχογραφούσε το "Kiss" και θα το βρείτε μέσα στο originals album του που κυκλοφόρησε πρόσφατα αλλά φυσικά και στην σελίδα του blog στο Facebook. Ο λόγος που το βάζω στο blog είναι απλά ένας. Είναι ο Prince και δεν χρειάζεται τίποτα παραπάνω από αυτό. Οι νεότεροι που διαβάζουν το blog πρέπει να έρχονται σε επαφή με όλους αυτούς τους θρύλους με τον έναν ή με τον άλλον τρόπο...

PRINCE - MANIC MONDAY

Καλή εβδομάδα soundfisters...
Δεν θα μπορούσα να σκεφτώ καλύτερο ξεκίνημα στο blog από την original version του "Manic Monday" που ταιριάζει με την ημέρα με τα φωνητικά του Prince πριν το δώσει φυσικά στις Bangles την δεκαετία του 80 και γίνει παγκόσμια επιτυχία. Είναι ένας από τους χαρακτηριστικούς ύμνους της Δευτέρας εις τους αιώνες μέσα από ένα album που ονομάζεται "Οriginals" με τραγούδια που έδωσε ο Prince σε άλλους καλλιτέχνες ανά τις δεκαετίες αλλά με τα φωνητικά του ίδιου. Άλλα έγιναν τεράστιες επιτυχίες άλλα λιγότερο ένα είναι το βέβαιο ότι πρόκειται για ένα συλλεκτικό album που δεν πρέπει να λείπει....

PRINCE - SIGN OF THE TIMES (JAY K'S REWORK)

Είναι ίσως από τα λίγα τραγούδια που ξέρω να τραγουδήσω ολόκληρα από την αρχή μέχρι το τέλος. Και επειδή δεν μπορώ να αντισταθώ σε αυτό το rework δεν υπάρχει περίπτωση να μην το παρουσιάσω στο blog. Δεν χρειάζονται άλλωστε πολλά να προσθέσεις σε αυτό το αριστούργημα το οποίο είναι πάντα...επίκαιρο!!!

PRINCE - NOTHING COMPARES 2 U

Δεν χρειάζονται ιδιαίτερες συστάσεις για το τραγούδι. Ένα από τα πιο άμεσα ερωτικά τραγούδια όλων των εποχών γραμμένο από τον Prince ο οποίος το έδωσε στους Family και παρέμενε ως ένα album track που σχεδόν κανένας δεν είχε ακούσει μέχρι η Sinead O Connor το κάνει μία από τις μεγαλύτερες επιτυχίες όλων των εποχών. Δεν υπάρχει χωρισμένος και πονεμένος ανά την υφήλιο που να μην έχει ταυτιστεί με τους στίχους κάνοντας το ένα από τα πιο άμεσα και βιωματικά τραγούδια ever. Και καθώς μεθαύριο συμπληρώνονται 2 χρόνια από το φευγιό του από τον μάταιο ετούτο κόσμο η original version του τραγουδιού από τον ίδιο τον Prince σκάει μύτη και προκαλεί μία ανατριχίλα σε όλους εμάς που αγαπήσαμε το τραγούδι αλλά και τον ίδιον.
