ISAIAH RASHAD & SZA - BOY IN RED

 It's always nice to hear something different from the copy paste sounds that most of the new releases use.Rashad and SZA share a long history of collaborations, stretching all the way back to their respective TDE debuts in 2014."Boy In Red" is taken from the new album "It's Been Awful'" by Rashad.It's one of the album's most captivating moments and it feels like that this is a meeting of kindred spirits with an airy and contemplative feel that suits both artists perfectly.SZA is doing what she does best by adding a layer of warmth and emotional depth that elevates the track considerably.In any case charting high or not this is a nice addition to your playlist making it more summerish.

A surprise new release by Doechii and SZA will be the last post for 2025 as we are moving fast to what 2026 brings in music.Are you ready for it?

This is not the first time the girls are collaborating and in this one they are trying to respond to some issues about their color and their female presence in rap music.Talking about issues...The track is the two artists’ first time working together since 2022’s "Persuasive" and Doechii’s biggest release since "Anxiety"."Girl, Get up.," samples the Neptunes' drums from Birdman and Clipse's "What Happened To That Boy?" and although it doesn't sound like a song that will stay for a long time in the spotlight it remains a big collab for music especially in the USA.

Sampling "The Girl From Ipanema" by Joao Gilberto and Stan Gets ft Astrud Gilberto a timeless classic "BMF" gets bigger and bigger on the streaming platforms making it a potential top 10 single in the Usa after her duet with Kendrick Lamar for "Luther".This is one of "Lana"'s highlights for sure...

KENDRICK LAMAR ft SZA - LUTHER

 It's too early to stream Christmas songs damn it so stop it.Just do it during the holiday week....If something stops the festive songs for being all around the charts it's Kendrick Lamar with three songs already in the Uk top 10 but wait till Tuesday to see what's coming on Billboard.The "GNX" album is already number one around the globe and this song will definitely continue to be around in 2025. Featuring SZA, "Luther" is a masterful blend of hip-hop and R&B that showcases Lamar’s versatility as an artist. The track’s lush production, characterized by smooth melodies and intricate layering, creates a romantic atmosphere that feels quite timeless."Luther" sample of Cheryl Lynn and Luther Vandross's "If This World Were Mine" with Luther Vandross vocals entering the production now and then creates a smooth and addictive sound experience.We really miss him...

SZA was the most-nominated artist at the 66th annual Grammy Awards and took home two solo awards: Best R&B Song and Best Progressive R&B Album.Today the songstres has released a brand new song called "Saturn" that was first previewed in a MasterCard commercial that aired during the 2024 Grammys.As it seems this song will be part of a deluxe edition of her 2022 album "SOS" called "Lana". A release date for the bonus version of the album remains uknown as for "Saturn" is pretty much a known sound that didn't impress me much..

While Morgan Wallen will rule the Hot 100 for another week Drake with his newest single will make another hot shot debut in the top 10 expanding his success in the USA.Now a single that never made it to the number one although it should is Sza's "Kill Bill".What a better way to have another chance by releasing the remix version of the song with Doja Cat on board.The duo last worked together on the collaborative track, "Kiss Me More" in 2021 so once is really not enough for the girls.The new version opens with Doja delivering a relentless verse, followed by SZA’s original chorus adding the rap flavour to this brilliant track.

SZA - KILL BILL

 This week was a Metro Boomin week but the next one is dedicated to SZA.Almost all songs from her "SOS" album will enter Billboard with at least two entering the top 10.The highest new entry will make this song which was not promoted as the first single but after the huge streaming it recieved pretty soon SZA will release a video for it."Kill Bill" sounds like Saint Etienne meeting Portishead in a soulful way.It has this bizzare essence of 70's French pop that makes it nostalgic and at the same time so one step ahead from all the rest releases.Her album will definitely debut at number one and i confess its my guilty pleasure...

SZA - NOBODY GETS ME

 I m really impressed by SZA's brand new album "SOS". The fact is that i really didn't expecting from her that sound and finally we have real songs that someone can really sing along.This is surely one of the best songs in her album and won't be the last on my blog."Nobody Gets Me" and most songs from her album will monopoly the charts next week with a bright future for most of them in 2023.This particular song sounds like a Taylor Swift song in so many ways with great melody, beautiful vocals by SZA and a timeless quality throughout the whole process that makes you wanna hear it again and again.Outstanding result and definitely an album you should make your own..

SZA - SHIRT

 She might be very talented and a great songstress but in the end the main criteria for any artist is do i wanna hear this song again next year?This is a song that SZA was hyping she was going to release it for a long time and finally we are in the position to have an opinion about "Shirt".This is soul music with modern hip hop beats that it might find audience in the USA but difficult anywhere else.It creates a nice atmosphere but since there are many other things to hear out there i don't really see the point to repeat "Shirt" again after a week or so.Sorry SZA waiting for something more from you..

SZA - I HATE U

 It's good to see RnB artists having once more success and SZA is one of them. Few years ago she was just a very respectfull new artist with grammy nominations and wins but no hits. Then came some artists like Doja Cat to make  RnB music popular again and her collab with SZA in one of the most successful tracks of the year "Kiss Me More" rocketed SZA in popularity. Her new single is right now the most streamed song in the USA and hopefully a new big entry in the next Billboard issue. "Missionary is really getting boring so let's switch position"...

JAMES BLAKE ft SZA - COMING BACK

 James Blake has a new album out and it's called "Friends That Break Your Heart". So far it has very good reviews but beyond that you have to like the songs. The main reason i m not very fond of his music is because it's very dark and dipressing most of the times. It's like i m hearing a male Lana Del Rey. Surprisingly this album has some different moments in it and i think this electronic soul jam with SZA on board is something you should hear. James Blake is in a good mood people...

DOJA CAT ft SZA - KISS ME MORE

 H Doja Cat είναι από τις νέες τραγουδίστριες που κατάφεραν να κάνουν επιτυχία συνδυάζοντας την σύγχρονη soul με τη τάση της εποχής που είναι η rap και το hip hop με επικρατέστερη όμως την RnB soul ως στοιχείο. Αν βάλεις τώρα στο πακέτο και την βραβευμένη SZA που έχει τους κριτικούς αλλά την όχι τόσο μεγάλη επιτυχία στα singles τότε το "Kiss Me More" δημιουργεί ένα μείγμα που θα προσελκύσει αρκετό κόσμο. Ειδικά μάλιστα όταν το τραγούδι είναι radio friendly και κυριότερα ένα καλό single για όλους..

SZA & JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE - THE OTHER SIDE

Δεν νομίζω πως οι περισσότεροι θα βάλετε να ακούσετε το συγκεκριμένο για την SZA αλλά για τον Justin. Άλλωστε η επιτυχία που προέκυψε από το πρώτο ost του "Trolls" με το "Can't Stop The Feeling" δίνει ένα boost στο πρώτο single από το ost του "Trolls World Tour" που είναι το δεύτερο μέρος της ταινίας. To ost το έχει επιμεληθεί ο ίδιος ο Timberlake με διάφορους καλλιτέχνες και το ντουέτο του με την SZA σε παραγωγή του Max Martin είναι ένα good feel αλλά μέχρι εκεί. Βλέπω οριακά την επιτυχία του "The Other Side" το οποίο δεν διεκδικεί δάφνες super hit κατά την γνώμη μου...

Μέχρι στιγμής τα τραγούδια που κυκλοφόρησαν μέσα από το ost του "Game Of Thrones" είναι εξαιρετικά και το κάνουν ήδη μια εξαιρετική επιλογή για ακρόαση. Προσθέστε σε αυτά και το "Power Is Power" όπου η νέα γενιά που αποτελείται από την SZA τον The Weeknd και τον Travis Scott δίνουν μία ηλεκτρονική soul rnb πινελιά στους διεκδικητές του θρόνου...

KENDRICK LAMAR & SZA - ALL THE STARS

Ο νέος υπερήρωας της Marvel που θα σπάσει τα ταμεία είναι ο Black Panther σύντομα στους κινηματογράφους και βέβαια θα υπάρχει και το κατάλληλο soundtrack as black as it can be...Το "All The Stars" είναι το πρώτο δείγμα από αυτό και η συνεργασία του Kendrick Lamar με την πολύ ανερχόμενη Sza είναι εκτός από αρκετά καλή και υποψήφια για μια επιτυχημένη πορεία στα charts. Αν κρίνω από αυτό που άκουσα από τα πιο ενδιαφέροντα ost tracks της χρονιάς!!!

MAROON 5 ft SZA - WHAT LOVERS DO (PINK PANDA REMIX)

Με αφορμή την είσοδο στο Top 10 των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών του "What Lovers Do" για τους Maroon 5 οι οποίοι κάνουν επιτυχία μετά από αρκετούς μήνες έρχεται και αυτό το remix από τους Pink Panda το οποίο είναι το καλύτερο κατά την άποψη μου μέχρι στιγμής. Και με την ευκαιρία ας κάνω μία αναφορά στα charts και στις δύο πλευρές του Ατλαντικού.
Στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες θεωρώ ότι έχουμε για τελευταία φορά το "Rockstar" στην κορυφή αφού το " Havana" της Cabello θα κατακτήσει και αυτή την κορυφή κάνοντας το έτσι μία από τις μεγαλύτερες επιτυχίες της χρονιάς. Από κάτω έρχονται το "Perfect" του Ed Sheeran και τίποτα άλλο ιδιαίτερα ενώ την μεγαλύτερη νέα είσοδο θα κάνει το νέο single του Eminem.
Στην Μεγάλη Βρετανία η Rita Ora με την χιτάρα της "Anywhere" απειλεί πολύ σοβαρά την Cabello και αν δεν πέσει το καστρο της αυτή την παρασκευή θα πέσει σίγουρα την επόμενη. Υπάρχει βλέπετε ο παράγοντας EMA's που είχαμε αυτή την εβδομάδα ο οποίος μπορεί να παιξει κάποιο ρόλο σε αυτό.
Stormzy και Eminem θα κάνουν αισθητή την παρουσία της rap στο Βρετανικό chart ενώ σε λίγο καιρό θα αρχίσουμε να μιλάμε και για το Christmas No 1 για το οποίο σοβαρή υποψηφιότητα θα παίξει το "Last Christmas" των Wham μετά την περσινή τραγική απώλεια του George Michael...
