DRAKE - JANICE STFU

 This week Drake released his long awaited new album "Iceman" plus two more projects "Habibti" and "Maid of Honor".The streaming services got multiple songs from the album in the highest positions creating an enviroment for the charts next week full of his sound. "Janice STFU" stands out as one of the album’s immediate highlights. Even if it’s still weighed down by another round of Kendrick Lamar references and Drake’s continued obsession with white validation discourse, the flip of "I Follow Rivers" by Lykke Li turns into this deeply euphoric auto-tuned warble as Drake slides through different pitches on the hook.The "Iceman" wall will be in full chart display the next days but how strong is this wall is in question.

This is not the first time these two are collaborating last time for an "On the Radar Freestyle" back in 2023. Ahead of a three-night run of shows in Manchester Drake drops "Which One" his second new single this year taken from his forthcoming "Iceman" album and it blends smooth confidence with sharp UK grit, crafted perfectly for late nights and loud speakers..The track centers on decision-making, temptation and indulgence. It’s slick, provocative and hyper-focused on that nightlife energy Drake knows so well.

DRAKE - WHAT DID I MISS ?

 Drake feels betrayed and that reflects on his surprise new single "What Did I Miss".This whole Kendrick Lamar diss feels disgusting at some point and no one really cares so any music that is inspired by this situation is boring.Drake’s been teasing maybe a new album called "Iceman" driving around his hometown in an Iceman van while getting mobbed by fans.In a country where a new political party just begun while celebrating 4th of July and country music vs rap music mark one and Christian music on the rise gaining more and more fans this new Drake single will probably storm an indifferent Billboard chart that for months now is a music swamp.

DRAKE - NOKIA

 Kendrick Lamar's beef with Drake has a no action so far by the Canadian rapper but a joint album release with Partynextdoor.The highlight of the album is  "Nokia" a playground of absurd synths with an 80s-obsessed feeling. It’s absolutely preposterous but very catchy, easily the brightest spot on the album  and that's why it's trending so much ever since the release of the album "Some Sexy Songs For U".The real Drake album will come really soon but till then this one will still the impressions.

GORDO ft DRAKE - SIDEWAYS

 Gordo, formerly known as DJ Carnage brings Drake on the dancefloor with one of two new songs from his brand new album "Diamante". Drake dives into emotional turmoil of heartbreak and pain caused by a former lover on "Sidways" which deserves an extra attention.Gordo recently spoke on his close relationship with Drake and what it means to have to the Toronto megastar as a frequent collaborator."Diamante" (titled after Gordo’s real first name) has a wide array of artists from across musical genres, including Fuerza Regida, Larry June, Leon Bridges, Maluma, T-Pain, and Young Dolph.This is a track i really like and deserves a chart pick.

Drake has officially released his response to Kendrick Lamar’s barbed verse on Metro Boomin and Future’s "Like That" which took aim at him and J. Cole and is currently No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.Now why should we care about rappers problem i don't know but as expected "Push Ups" is the only new release that competes with the new Taylor Swift songs.For how long nobody knows cause Drake is the biggest rapper in the world but i think we should let him do his push ups on peace...

4BATZ ft DRAKE - ACT II: DINNER @ 8

 Now what the world needs is more of this and less fire shooting words on a bassline that could actually sound more interesting with a melody on it.4Batz out of nowhere and with a very small catalog earned a Drake feature on his viral "Act II: Dinner @8" jam and boom there it is on the charts.This is another fine example of what it takes to become famous out of the blue.The song sounds like the sort of late-night-vibe, hip-hop-adjacent, alternative R&B with three record labels battling right now to sign him.By the way i like the bedroom feeling...

DRAKE ft YEAT - IDGAF

 I ll start by saying that i like Drake in general.But he doesn't deserve to recieve 13 number one songs in the USA tying Michael Jackson as the most number ones by a male artists.The way the charts are made are giving the benefit to big names to debut at number one just because of the streamings they recieve.That's why Drake occupies almost the entire Billboard top 10 this week.These records are false based to a very different system and they can't be compared in any way with the massive resonance MJ number one singles had.Who will remember any of Drake's songs from his latest album in six months from now.Noooooone!!!!Next week this week's number one "First Person Shooter" will probably make a huge drop while "IDGAF" with Yeat will only remain battling for another number one in the next weeks with Bad Bunny's "Monaco" being the only opponent.Taylor Swift's movie with her latest tour on screen will boost most of her songs with "Cruel Summer" getting another chance for the number one spot.Billboard's charts are getting less credibility each year and if you are looking for new music you better look to other places.

DRAKE ft BAD BUNNY - GENTLY

 Don't get me wrong i like Drake but the way Billboard counts the hits is awfull.With "Paint The Town Red" by Doja Cat spending it's third week this Tuesday in 10 days from now the entire USA Top 10 will be occupied by songs from Drake's new album "For All The Dogs"."First Person Shooter" with J Cole will give Drake another number one putting him on a list with great artists that he wouldn't otherwise be if the system for the charts wasn't like that.Billboard charts sucks in general and there is almost no way for other artists to get a chart hit."Gently" with Bad Bunny will also get a high chart position but who cares.This whole thing is fake and manufactured..

TRAVIS SCOTT & DRAKE - MELTDOWN

 Although i can't relate with many rap songs including this one i can't ignore that this week is owned by Travis Scott since all the songs from his brand new album are considered hits in both sides of the Atlantic.Some of them had huge streaming numbers with "Meltdown" being the one that wins the statistics.Drake is on it and this is the main reason why this is the highest new entry this week on the Uk chart and probably will debut on the number one next Tuesday on Billboard.The song dishes Pusha T and Pharrell and uses a sample from Star Wars Episode IV "A New Hope"."Meltdown" serves as a spiritual successor to “Sisco Mode” an anthem that topped the charts and broke Spotify records.But charts and spotify records mean a shit to me nowdays if songs are not becoming "true" classics.

 Drake loves UK rap and the culture around it.J Hus joined Drake on his 2019 Uk tour so a new track together was only natural.Titled "Who Told You" the track pulls heavily from J Hus afroswing sounds, something the Stratford, London-born-and-bred rapper has pioneered.And with every release that Drake is on board expect the chart success in the Uk which might even dethrone Dave & Central Cee from the top spot.That's the effect of streaming rap artists and not from the sales.

 Drake releases his first solo single of 2023 andit comes in the form of "Search & Rescue".The track  samples some dialogue from Kim Kardashian with Kris Jenner so the hype has already begun.Of course Drake is one of the most succesfull rappers ever and every single he releases it is destined to hit the top 10 Billboard chart at least.Now i can not relate with "Search & Rescue" at any point but i m sure some of you will.Or maybe this is my first impression...

POPCAAN ft DRAKE - WE CAA DONE

 This is the third time these two are collaborating and this time is for Popcaan's new album "Great Is He".Now this dancehal afrobeats thing is expected to be again popular this year and if Drake is on it then it's a sure thing that "We Caa Done' will be on the charts right away.Apart from that this song is an easy radio friendly jam that gains points each time you press the play button.Can we hear this till summer? Yes we Caa.....

DRAKE & 21 SAVAGE - CIRCO LOCO

 This joint album between Drake and 21 Savage is one of the major new releases this week.The question is after listening "Her Loss" what is all about.Well after Drake was accused for making a dance electronic album this year this one is pure rap, hip hop.Not my thing in general but there is one song in it that might get the pop attention and the mainstream radios."Circo Loco" samples "One More Time" by Daft Punk and it's real great to listen among stuff in "Her Loss" that are totally for hip hop fans only with some lyrics that already caused reactions among some rap artists cause of the references about them.

DJ KHALED ft DRAKE & LIL BABY - STAYING ALIVE

 It's official Beyonce gets the number one spot in Billboard dethroning Lizzo after 2 weeks.Beyonce gets also the number 1 album with "Renaisance" giving queen B the biggest success in almost 12 years.Steve Lacy with "Bad Habit" will storm into the top 10 and it has the potential getting even higher the next weeks.Now the vanity of DJ Khaled is unspeakable naming himself in every song he releases with the biggest names around. Drake and Lil Baby serve the vocals on "Staying Alive" but the song is not in my personal acoustic field.It will make a great start in the charts cause everything Drake releases even if it was reading the yellow pages it will sell.

DRAKE - MASSIVE (KREAM EXTENDED REMIX)

 "Honestly Nevermind" is one of the best albums of this year even if many didn't like the electronic turn Drake took on this one.I think an artist should try other genres if he wants to be creative and Drake took that chance. Since the beggining "Massive" was my favourite track of the album and i still think it's one of the best dance anthems of the year.The song offers opportunities to all the big names around the world to make a remix and Kream are the first to try.Since they are a huge duo in the world of dance music this remix could not be a flop in any way.And yes it's M A S S I V E!!!

DRAKE - FALLING BACK

This is the second track i love from the brand new Drake album. Actually there are many singles that fulfill my listening criteria cause this is one of the best albums this year. As expected next Friday in the Uk and of course In the Usa many of the songs will enter the top 10 and hopefully "Falling Back" will be one of them.This is great sound for the summer anyplace, anywhere, anytime...

DRAKE - MASSIVE

 For me it's definitely the best Drake album ever and one of the best this year. The unxpected release of "Honestly Nevermind" was a nice surprise with the best one being the music in it. The contribution Black Coffee did in this album is more than obvious giving Drake a dance pop with quality flavour.This release will extend his legacy in every way and "Massive" is one of the best tracks on the album.This is going to be a huge dancefloor banger!!!

FUTURE ft DRAKE & TEMS - WAIT FOR U

 This week in streaming it was all about the new album by Future "I Never Liked You". Almost every track from the album was at the top 10 of streaming in both sides of the Atlantic making this release the hottest one around. The fact that rappers have the privilege to gain huge streaming amounts making their songs top the charts is not a strange thing even though i don't agree. Especially "Wait For U" from this album gained so much hype that entered the Uk Top 10 in a flash and probably will do the same in the USA but where will it be next week? Drake and Tems are featured on the song as long as the Game Of Thrones alike video. Chart positions and numbers are just numbers but staying in time is another thing...
