 Sometimes there is an inspiration that comes from the past but it's so new fresh and needed that makes you say at last. Italian-American DJ and producer Disco Bambino known worldwide as Giuseppe Savoni joins forces with two iconic figures of the pop and disco scene, Nile Rodgers and Sophie Ellis-Bextor. "Dancing Without You" links directly to so many memories from the past that i could fill this post with hundreds of songs and names.This collaboration combines contemporary production with classic disco aesthetics and sticks all together like a glue.Nile Rodgers continues to be one of the most important creative forces in the modern music industry making one collaboration after another mostly with European names like Sebastien Tellier or Duran Duran.Either way charting or not this is one of my summer jams and you probably you should too...

How likely is to hear this one on the radio during the next weeks.Don't answer we all know the answer... American singer Slayyyter perfectly met the technical demands of the song while she brought a Studio 54 tone to it.And as if that wasn't enough he brought Nile Rodger's joyful riffs to elevate the track to the max.If it feels like the second part of Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" then we have the same impression.Thrilling....

 Things in music are moving fast causing the fast food hits effect in most cases.Kygo who is better known for recycling songs from the past to get an attention in the charts is releasing another one.After his partership with Ava Max with "Whatever" this time he makes a brand new with Zak Abel."For Life" is using Chic's "Soup For One" a song released in 1982 better known for the mega hit "Lady" by Modjo released back in 2000.Only this time Kygo was kind enough to mention the creator Nile Rodgers the head and the heart of Chic on releasing "For Life" as a featured artist.This new hybrid of a classic is expected to be on the radios just like his preview single for the obvious reasons.

ARIANA DEBOSE, BOY GEORGE & NILE RODGERS - ELECTRIC ENERGY

 Ariana DeBose, Boy George and Nile Rodgers have teamed up for "Electric Energy", the disco-infused bop featured in Matthew Vaughn’s movie "Argylle".The song can be heard at the end credits with a video with cameos from the movie cast.As for the song’s retro disco vibe, Rodgers learned that Vaughn and the songwriting team (Gary Barlow, Stuart Price and Lorne Balfe) were inspired by Disco star Sylvester when writing the lyrics.Not really a fan of this Rodger's production but the movie probably will boost this release...

LE SSERAFIM ft NILE RODGERS - UNFORGIVEN

 Now what you 'd expect from a K-pop girlie band?That's what you get in heavy doses and i know that there are a lot of K-pop fans out there.Seeing Nile Rodger's name on it i was very curious to hear what this mastermind have come up with but to tell you the truth there is none-nada Rodger-ish taste on "Unforgiven".Probably he is playing the guitar on it but still there is no trademark.The production is awesome and the video for the song is a blockbuster having TikTok-ready catchphrases.If all that are good enough for you then go ahead.For me it's better to see it than hear it..

ROOSEVELT & NILE RODGERS - PASSION (FRED FALKE EXTENDED REMIX VERSION)

 "Passion" was from the very begging a heavily supported track by Sound Fist first of all because it's a good song second because Roosevelt is very talented and third because Nile Rodgers is in it.This is a song that will not be chosen by pop radios neither will get a chart success.But...it will get a massive remix by the legendary Fred Falke blowing up the passion-meter once and for all.This combination can't be wrong even if they wanted to.

OLIVER HELDENS & NILE RODGERS ft HOUSE GOSPEL CHOIR - I WAS MADE FOR LOVING YOU

 What is it that makes all the 80's songs to revive in different ways and forms into today? Have you ever wondered why is it so difficult to have new timeless songs? If you look back into the 80's you can find a thousand of songs that leaved their mark into music but in the past 2 decades we have only 5-10 songs per year that manage to do so. Back in the 80's we had only few genres but today we have hundreds with a copy paste attitude. Back in the 80's almost every week we had at least 3-4 new songs into the top 10 based on sales or radio plays but now the charts are as solid as a rock with streaming based rules.

The fact that songs like "I Was For Loving You" are so familiar and timeless success is a good start for someone to make a cover or use it as a sample. Back in the days rock groups like Kiss could release a mega dance hit but today is a privilege only among the djs. This song was released back in 1979 from the "Dynasty" Kiss album and it was a classic dance track throughout the 80's and beyond that. Oliver Heldens didn't have the chance to live that period but Nile Rodgers not only did but he was one of those who shaped it. Together they revive this classic that is less the electrifying original but it's a good reason for youngsters to get in touch with another classic.Time for me to touch the original 12 inch vinyl from Kiss and i leave you with this new release...

JACK SAVORETTI ft NILE RODGERS - WHO'S HURTING WHO (FRED FALKE REMIX)

 "Europiana" remains one of the best albums of the year and even the singles didn't get the appreciation needed songs like "Who's Hurting Who" will be in my favourite list for the years to come. I can't understan why bad albums like the one Coldplay released or the singles of Coldplay get to know number ones and not the divine Jack Savoretti. Radios even in Greece who love him snobbed his songs from the new album but time will revenge everything. A new remix of "Who's Hurting Who" by the excellent Fred Falke will make your weekend (and not only) so much better...

If you feel like you re missing the Daft Punk sound blended with studio 54 era and a lot of Will I Am and Black Eyed Peas flavour then you need to hear this one. This is the debut single by J Rey Soul so you can say there is a new kid on the block who is fortune enough to cllab not only with Will I Am but with the legend Nile Rodgers. I could easily see this climb the charts the next weeks and i would have no problem with that since it's a sound i prefer so much better than Lisa's the x member of Blackpink whi already sells instead of that..

 Αν το πρώτο remix του για ένα τραγούδι το οποίο τολμώ να πω είναι όχι μόνο μέσα στα καλύτερα μου του καλοκαιριού αλλά και της χρονιάς, είναι τόσο καλό τότε δεν μπορώ να φανταστώ τι άλλο θα μπορώ να γράψω για το νέο single του Jack Savoretti μαζί με τον Nile Rodgers. Το είχατε βρει από τους πρώτους πριν 2 πέμπτες και από τους πρώτους θα έχετε την ευκαιρία να ακούσετε και αυτό το remix το οποίο είναι μούρλια είναι τρέλα και όποιος dj δεν το παίξει τότε είναι άσχετος. Λες να έχουμε σύντομα και κάποιο remix από κάποιον επώνυμο;; Πχ Purple Disco Machine.....Λέω εγώ τώρα...

SG LEWIS & NILE RODGERS - ONE MORE (MARK KNIGHT REMIX)

 Το BBC αποφάσισε να εντάξει το "One More" στο playlist του και ο Mark Knight να του κάνει ένα shiny remix. To τραγούδι το έχω παρουσιάσει στο blog εδώ και εβδομάδες βέβαια αλλά είναι η σειρά αυτού του remix που πραγματικά του κάνει ένα upgrade. Του δίνει αυτό το μοντέρνο disco vibe που εύκολα το κάνει από τα αγαπημένα μου dance anthems για τον μήνα που ξεκινάει αύριο. Εξαιρετικός στα remixes o Μark Knight που είναι και το φόρτε του..
