Ever since i heard this remix for "Miss You" there is no other version of this song for me.21 years old Marten Lou from Germany and now based in Paris made this extraordinary tranformation of the Oliver Tree & Robin Schulz smash hit that really blew me away.The fact that this young dj lives in Paris had a lot to do with the sound of this remix and the instruments he is being using.The song rebound this week into the Uk Top 10 and i m very happy that there is a version that can make me hear this song in ten years from now...
Illenium is one of the electronic music artists that i like from the USA.He has already four studio album one Grammy nomination but his music remains in the dance scene apart from the main charts.He is also almost uknown to Europe since i don't remember seeing any of his singles pitching in the any category.That doesn't stop him of course on creating good electronic music and on April 28th he will release his fifth studio album.Recording artists from other genres in the USA trust his work like Nina Nesbitt did for his latest single "Luv Me A Little". The fact that Tik Tok makes old releases become hits gives hope to so many good songs that were overlooked for the known reasons.So we have "Die For You" by The Weekend being a massive hit in the USA almost over a year after it's release and "Sure Thing" by Miguel released back in 2010 being an unexpected crossover hit.There are several more old songs that have been ressurected recently and i m curious to see what will happen to them.So no worries for Pnau's latest single with Troye Sivan on vocals that has been ignored so far, there is always the social media afterlife or maybe a remix can draw the attention?Shadow Child remixed "You Know What I Need" and the result is pretty good..
If this is what happens when an artist goes independent then everybody should leave the record labels.The last two days i m listening to Raye's album "My 21st Century Blues" and i m really impressed.It's so intimate, out of the box, with strong lyrics and powerful that exposes Raye's talent in writing music vividly.If she was forced to sing dance records instead of expressing herself then choosing this path was the right thing to do."Ice Cream Man" is taking the role of the follow up single to "Escapism" although we are living in a world where every song is a potential single depending the social media part.Did anyone ordered an ice cream?
It is a great honor for a Greek dj not only remixing a Tiesto release but to have an international career.Although Argy is in the production field for a long time i think after "Tataki" things have changed for him in a big way.His remix on Tiesto's "Lay Low" is just massive and will be one of this summer's dance highlights.Tiesto on the other hand keeps releasing commercial singles and dance productions keeping things hot for his brand name.Gongrats Argy!!!

Before we move on to the brand new releases there is always room for some good songs that came out last year and need to be exposed.This song by Finnish artist Alma was released last September but nobody gave it an attention including me.Although Alma is no stranger to the blog and i thought she had a lot of potential somehow she managed to be left out from the music talkabouts.Big mistake cause with this song she proves that not only she is talented but she also knows how to captivate ears with her songs."Summer Really Hurt Us" so many months after it's release has made a pick in the Uk radios and to social media with this fresh indie pop sound that often becomes people's favourite.This is a good one Alma....Hope it works..

Whitney Houston's biopic movie failed so we will add it to those who couldn't stand in a descent level the life of a huge star.So far only The Queen biopic and the recent one for Elvis managed to gain the attention of the audience.Now this dance anthem from Gianni Romano, Emanuele Esposito and the vocals from Helen Tesfazghi managed last summer to become one of the successful and most trending dance anthems at the Mediterranian clubs but it stayed indoors mostly.Using the classic Whitney Houston hit "It's Not Right But It's Ok" now has a new twist more afro house or carnival if you like since it's the right period by The Deepshakerz.It worths better this anthem and this remix might help..
Back in the days before cds we were buying singles and albums from all our favour artists without exceptions.There were 7" inch singles 12" inch singles with the remixes and you were able to unfold, touch the sleeves, smell the vinyls and connect with the song and the artists in so many ways.Today mp3s m4as and internet music may not be faceless but you can't touch it except some cases where you can still find vinyl releases from some artists in so many editions.Splatter, transparent, coloured vinyl editions are only a glimpse of what it used to be out there.But if the music is not yet faceless beware cause AI is just around the corner and this is something that may happen sooner than you think.
