It was released as a single last month while the album "Heavy Is the Crown" is among the top new releases album choices this week. The album is the duo's first full-length collaborative project, building on their musical partnership that began with Cordae's 2019 track "RNP". They subsequently reunited for "Two Tens" in 2023 and "Summer Drop" in 2024.Anderson .Paak and Cordae bring feel-good hip-hop, infectious grooves and a healthy dose of nostalgia to "A Good Day" which more and more is gaining a fan base and a trending status. Built around a sample of Bill Withers’ timeless 1977 classic "Lovely Day" the track combines a warm, soulful foundation with playful rhymes, charismatic delivery and the unmistakable chemistry between the two artists. The collaboration also nods to hip-hop history, quoting elements of Ice Cube’s "It Was a Good Day" and "Life Is Like a Dice Game", connecting generations of rap through a shared sense of optimism. The single serves as the opening chapter of the duo’s collaborative album project and is a slow burner that day by day will built what the title says.
