TOVE LO - BORDERLINE

I have to comment this.I see pop addicts, music analysts mostly on Tik Tok and in other blogs praising today's pop icons like Tove Lo and that's ok.The thing is that they don't have the background of what pop music was 3-4 decades ago and mostly they haven't lived it like i did.It's only natural to feel that artists like Tove Lo are exceptional comparing today's pop music.I like Tove Lo too and i think she should be a pop star riding the charts but she is not.She is a star among pop lovers and not world wide star.Now her brand new single "Borderline" has Dua Lipa as a co writer on this song that sounds very much like a "Future Nostalgia" outtake.Things will be approached from the media differently if Dua Lipa was the singer and that's really too bad cause this is very good pop song for today's standards.

 This much anticipated return by Depeche Mode is finally here.After Andy Fletcher's unexpected death Depeche Mode as a duo makes a massive turn back to their original sound.This is the sound of analog synths that created prety much electronic music as it is today.And finally Depeche Mode after wondering and exploring other music styles are back on their roots.I don't know if their upcoming album "Memento Mori" out on March 23 has unpleasant surprises but if the mood is like their first single "Ghosts Again" then it will be massive.Depeche Mode fans all around the world rejoice.The legends are back and they sound as good as back then...

LIL YAGHTY - THE BLACK SEMINOLE

 I ve never heard anything like this before and it's definitely one album to get Grammy(s) or other awards by the end of 2023.This is the next step, the upgrade level of music and a masterpiece in general.Lil Yaghty's "Let's Start Here" album is like The Pink Floyd meeting Prince or the Beatles meet i don't know maybe The Weeknd. This is not hip hop is an upgated fusion of multiple things combined in a perfect way.So far is the best album released in a long time and this is a subjective opinion as they all are when it comes to reviews.You get no skips in "Let's Start Here" and a piece of this innovating album to get an idea is "The Black Seminole" that just entered the Hot 100.I never thought that Lil Yaghty could be that genious..Love it!!!

 It was an historic Sunday for Beyonce as she becomes the most winning act in Grammy's with 32 awards in total.She may gathered only 4 awards this time in lower categories but they were enough to make this historic record.There are many talks about not winning the best album of the year and i personally agree she should have.Harry Styles album may be a nice album but the production and the idea of "Renaissance" is unique.Now this remix is an official one and was released after the viral status in social media.It includes an new verse and additional vocals by Bey who blended the original with Twista's 2009 song "Wetter".This is the second time she releases a mash up after the one she did for "Break My Soul" and "Vogue".This new version makes it a bedroom-ready jam and i must say it flipped me over.Her world tour is sold out in USA and tonight tickets are gonna be on sale for her European leg of her tour.

The Grammy's are over....Beyonce made history as from now has the most wins by any artist in Grammy history, Harry Styles won the biggest prize of the night (album of the year), Bonnie Raitt stole song of the year and Lizzo ( i adore her) won record of the year.I was so happy that Purple Disco Machine won the Grammy for best remix for Lizzo's "About Damn Time" establishing what we all know and love about him.Now Miley Cyrus will stay at the top at the Billboard's Hot 100 for third week and next year will be seated at the Grammy's herself.

Now some people that made history in the past winning many awards are Peter Gabriel and Brian Eno.They don't have to prove anything any more just provide their music to the world.These two have collaborated for "I/0" the brand new Peter Gabriel album and this is the second single out of it."The Court" is all about justice in this world and a way to think will listening to good music.

INDEEP - LAST NIGHT A DJ SAVED MY LIFE (SMEDDLES MORE ASS MIX)

 I remember i was in high school when i first heard "Last Night A Dj Saved My Life" on the radio.I was so impressed by the groove, the sound, the funky dance rhythm and the epic production of Indeep.When i first got in my hands the imported 12 inch vinyl some days later i was kinda transported to a NY club feeling like i was the dj and i was playing that all night long.And that was one of my first dance records i bought.Ever since this anthem remains some kind of a wonderful memory and one of the best introductions in dance music i ever had.Smeddles really did an ass mix on this iconic dance groove and don't get me wrong but if you haven't heard the original then you don't know that there is not a better version...
