THE WEEKND - SACRIFICE

 Since the release of the album this morning and my first critic it was announced that "Sacrifice" will be the next single from "The Dawn FM" with a music video coming the next hours. I wrote that the album has a lot to do with the early 80's Michael Jackson sound and "Sacrifice" proves exactly that. This a combination of "Don't Stop Till You Can't Enough" with "Rock With U" in a futuristic electronic hybrid that even MJ would have liked. The first critics for the album are great but i still believe that the chart positions of the singles are not going to be as jaw dropping as used to see from him...

JONAS BLUE & WHY DON'T WE - DON'T WAKE ME UP

 I believe that the Jonas Blue big hits era ended cause there are other dance music producers that are hot right now. That doesn't mean he hasn't got projects for this year and an album called "Together" with a lot of collaborations is going to be released later this year. For now the first single with boy band Why Don't We gives a first taste of that project. The pop dance track is not something you haven't heard already and that is the biggest weakness of tracks like that. The expiring date is very short unless i m mistaken...

THE WEEKND - IS THERE SOMEONE ELSE

 It's a new dawn it's a new day it's a new era for The Weeknd. His brand new album is here and i was listening to it all morning. The "Dawn FM" is not exactly what you expected. My first impression was this is an electronic funk album with multiple infusion of the sounds of Michale Jackson's "Off The Wall" era. It's not an album with profound hits but that doesn't mean it's not a great album. Jim Carrey narrates the start and the ending of this project while appearances from the great Quincy Jones, Tyler The Creator and Lil Wayne are some of the extras of the "Dawn FM". It was very difficult for me to choose what song i think he will promote as a single but finally i chose "Is There Someone Else". I remember when i presented the previous album of The Weeknd i chose "Save Your Tears" and look how it went. He is a great artist and the combination of sounds he provides makes great albums and songs.

ELLA HENDERSON - BRAVE

 Be the first to hear the new Ella Henderson single and all the new releases by joining Sound Fist on Facebook. Ella is one of the great voices in the Uk and on March we will have the release of her album "Everything I Didn't Say". One of the first singles with the 2022 label is her brand new "Brave" which is not a dance single if you believed that but rather a soul pop with gospel origins anthem that didn't impress me with the first listen. It didn't with the second one so i guess a top 20 at the Uk will be more than enough.

LAUREN SPENCER-SMITH - FINGERS CROSSED

 Early last year we had the 18 year phenomenon called Olivia Rodrigo. Are we gonna have another one this year with another teenager called Lauren Spencer-Smith? She was a contestant on American Idol 18 and she is storming Tik Tok with  "Fingers Crossed". And you know what that means....Another bad relationship song that seems to make appeal to too many people. Trying to figure out what makes this song different to make it a global success i couldn't find anything special. It just happens so let's deal with the opinion of the many and make our own..

CKAY - EMILIANA

 Tik Tok has introduced to us a new artist from Africa Ckay with "Love Nwantiti". The success of this song was so big that Ckay is curruntly working on something with David Guetta. Waiting for this one "Emiliana" is another song that Ckay is promoting and another way for the world to get familiar with his music. Let's see if music from Africa will still produce hits that will conquer the world again this year..

MUNI LONG - HRS & HRS

 I m very curious how the Greek radio producers will announce her name cause Muni Long sounds very explicit in Greek language. I hope that this is not going to be the reason for not playing one of the most promising RnB & Soul new artists right now. I can listen to her for hours and hours and hours so her album "Public Display Of Affection" becomes one of my favourites right now. Her single "Hrs & Hrs" rises up the Billboard and hopefully it will reveal to the rest of the world why Muni Long is sooooooo hot!!!

YOLA - DANCING AWAY IN TEARS

 One of the pleasant surprises of last year for me is getting familiar with Yola's music. I think the future will prove how important artist is in music and even if "Starlight" was overlooked by many of you i think she will get your attention one way or another soon enough. One of the ways is "Dancing Away In Tears" a single that was released some months ago and now gains the attention in the Uk. How important is artists from Soul origins is something that i often say and this year we will have a lot. Yola in this one sounds like Donna Summer and brings back memories so dear to me that i can't ignore...

MEDUZA ft HOZIER - TELL IT TO MY HEART (IVAN GOUGH & JYYE REMIX)

 I really don't know anyone that he didn't like "Tell It To My Heart" by Meduza and Hozier on the vocals. I think this is the third time i post about this song on the blog and i really don't know what it takes for a great dance pop song to reach the popularity others have either on sales or streaming. Sometimes it takes a while longer or it will remain a mystery that only time will solve. Anyway this another great remix for the song that may help the spreading in favour of justice...

LUUDE ft COLIN HAY - DOWN UNDER

 It's always great classics that stand the test of time to return in our lives in so many not always great way. I never thought that this classic by Men At Work could easily be reworked and especially in an drum n bass remix. Not only that but it has also the blessings of the Men At Work frontman Colin Hay who provides also some update vocals. Almost 40 years after the release "Down Under" the most popular Aussie anthem ever is being reimagined by this young also Aussie producer Luude and guess what is making already some big waves. Could this become a tsunami? It has a lot of potential so you can expect here a future hit.

ZHU - MANEQUINS & EGOS

 I will become a little more strict with my ratings of the songs but either way you will get your own opinion after hearing them. Zhu just released the deluxe versin of his "Dreamland" album and "Manequins & Egos" serves as the new single. Zhu is a unique artist and his worldwide recognition may not come with a chart success but his music always is something worth adding in your playlist. Now this one may sound a lot like a Weeknd song so don't miss hearing it if you are a fan of this genre.
