KYGO ft PAUL McCARTNEY & MICHAEL JACKSON - SAY SAY SAY

 This is a game that Kygo knows how to play it very well.That last time the Norwegian dj made a global hit was when he remixed Whitney Houston's version of "Higher Love".Remixing is his field while his own songs fail to chart for various reasons.Now this remix of the 1983 smash collab between Paul and Michael has been used for some months now by Kygo with the response being warm enough to release it as a single today.For us who lived the original release and grew up with "Say Say Say" storming the charts this reedition finds me ok but not thrilled.I can understand that he used the same recipe with "Higher Love" that is already tested and tried to bring this classic into the 20's but it feels a little awkward.No need to say that is always great to hear the two legends once more and feel that they might come back at the charts.

His mash ups are already very popular on the platform and many users select his creations for their videos. Σήμερα ο βασιλιάς της pop θα γινόταν 60 ετών. Προς τιμήν ενός από τους μεγαλύτερους καλλιτέχνες που γέννησε αυτός ο πλανήτης ο Mark Ronson έφτιαξε αυτό το medley από αγαπημένα τραγούδια του Michael Jackson που θα συνοδέψει και τις εκδηλώσεις που θα γίνουν σήμερα τιμώντας κάποιον που έφυγε αλλά θα υπάρχει για πάντα..Το medley δεν είναι τίποτα ιδιαίτερο και μάλλον πρόχειρο θα έλεγα και η βαθμολογία έχει να κάνει αποκλειστικά με αυτό και προς θεού όχι για τα τραγούδια του MJ τα οποία είναι όλα αγαπημένα..

DRAKE ft MICHAEL JACKSON - DON'T MATTER TO ME

O Drake αυτή την στιγμή βρίσκεται στο απόγειο της καριέρας του. Οτιδήποτε κυκλοφορεί ειδικά στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες πουλάει σαν τρελό και γίνεται χρυσάφι. Άνετα θα μπορούσα να χαρακτηρίσω την φετινή χρονιά ως Drake year και παρ όλο που εμένα προσωπικά δεν με αγγίζουν ιδιαίτερα αρκετά από τα singles που κυκλοφορεί οφείλω να τον παραδεχτώ. Το νέο του album "Scorpion" το οποίο μόλις κυκλοφόρησε επιφυλάσσει και μία έκπληξη. Την συμμετοχή του Michael Jackson σε ένα τραγούδι στο οποίο ο "ποτέ δεν έφυγε" βασιλιάς της pop κάνει φαλσέτα σε κάτι που δν έχουμε ξανακούσει στο παρελθόν δεν πρόκειται δηλαδή για sample από κάποια παλιότερη γνωστή ηχογράφηση του. Αυτή η πτυχή του Drake που είναι πιο soulful πιο ηλεκτρονική και πιο "προσβάσιμη" μ αρέσει ιδιαίτερα φυσικά και το να ακούς και Michael Jackson βέβαια 9 χρόνια μετά είναι κάτι που φυσικά προκαλεί ρίγος...
