CHARLI XCX - SS26

 From the times i was writing about the rising star of Charli XCX without any real success to "Brat" seems like ages away.And after that came her ost era for "Wuthering Heights" that didn't go very well till she released "Rock Music" and today her brand new "SS26". It's a song about capitalism and the end of the world feeling we're all living through currently because of it, and that feeling is ultimately incredibly mundane. There's been plenty of op-eds over the past few years about the "apocalypse being boring" and I feel this song and production is aiming for the same tone.Once again this is a nice song causing mixed feelings but at least this one is over 2 minutes.There's no build up or drop because ultimately all this "end of the world" is leading to is exactly that - just the end and that makes it very weak for making a real change to the world of music.

CHARLI XCX - ROCK MUSIC

 Not all major releases are destined to become hits just like no minor releases are destined to become flops.When it comes to Charli XCX she is finally considered a major artist so this release will gather the spotlight."Rock Music" is described as a hyper-pop song (who really cares) and serves as the lead single from her upcoming seventh studio album. After making her major soundtrack contribution for "Wuthering Heights" this single takes a distance from her "Brat" sound testing her strength with the larger audience and not just with her fans who loved her for her futuristic dance sounds.Is the dance floor dead and the sights are set for rock guitars?The distance between stardome and be forgotten is really thin and Charli XCX is really balancing with this one.

CHARLI XCX - WALL OF SOUND

 Her effort for the "Wuthering Heights" ost showed a different aspect of Charli XCX's musical destination and if the movie was among the ones for the Oscar race she could also get a nomination which is not possible but we have to wait a little longer. Her new single "Wall of Sound " is the third one released from the soundtrack following the singles "House" a collaboration with John Cale, and  "Chains of Love".The track unfolds slowly, built on electronically processed strings, autotune and repetitive vocal lines, creating an introspective and melancholic atmosphere, where tension and repetition dominate.Now that she is a star a chart appearence is very possible.

CHARLI XCX - CHAINS OF LOVE

 Charli XCX seems to be in a rather dark era after releasing her second "Wuthering Heights" single while the trailer for the movie released few hours ago.It seems there are several songs by her in the Ost with "Chains Of Love" sounding something like Tori Amos or Kate Bush meeting Billie Eilish in a cinematic way. The movie has Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi as its stars, and Charli's music has been pretty central to its marketing.The song is basically a pop ballad that istead of "House" released few days ago has a lot of potential for a radio play and a chart route that could last for quite sometime.The reason is because it has a simple, strong melody and her vocal communicates a whole lot of human ache even through tons of electronic filters.

CHARLI XCX ft JOHN CALE - HOUSE

 Bizarre and haunting the new single Charli XCX released for the soundtrack to director Emerald Fennell’s forthcoming adaptation of "Wuthering Heights". Featuring a lugubrious monologue from the Velvet Underground legend John Cale this is something entirely new, entirely opposite to the sound Charli XCX pushed in her Brat era. Two-thirds of the track’s vocal belongs to Cale's monologue at age 83. It’s powerful, striking ultra bizarre and rather cinematic made for the ost and not for the charts or the radio.

CHARLI XCX & TROYE SIVAN - TALK TALK

 Charli XCX's "Talk Talk" remix with Troye Sivan (and a Dua Lipa word spoken cameo!) was released and "Brat" will soon be different but still "Brat".The new remix of "Talk Talk" is joined by Troye Sivan, who coincidentally will head out on a US tour with Charli beginning this weekend.Her album has been nominated for the Mercury Prize 2024 while Charli has been working on multiple film & TV projects like co-executive producing the score for the A24 film "Mother Mary" with Jack Antonoff and also producing original music for Benito Skinner’s series "Overcompensating" on Prime Video. In addition, Charli will star in the Daniel Goldhaber remake of the 1978 cult horror film "Faces of Death" and Greg Araki’s erotic thriller "I Want Your Sex".Charli this year became a true superstar as was expected from the beggining.

This time, she’s enlisted Billie Eilish for a new version of the bonus song "Guess".The visual for the song features a ton of underwear, all of which has been charitably redistributed."Guess" what this one is going to storm up the charts in a flash making this summer as "Brat" as it gets.

 Charli continues to give reasons to buy her brand new album "Brat"."360" is the latest from that album, following "Von Dutch". "Club Classics", and "B2B" while the album arrives on June 7.Charli XCX has enlisted an all-star cast of internet celebrities in the very meta video for her new song including Julia Fox, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, Gabbriette, Alex Consani, and Emma Chamberlain.Although i like Charli this one sounds a lot that the electronic pop of our era therefore nothing new here.

 Charli XCX is heavily promoting her brand new album "Brat" so she releases two new singles after "Von Dutch" which served as the first one.It was more than clear that the first single wasn't that commercial for the radio and either is "Club Classics" one of the two new singles.But "B2B" is an electronic dance jam that has the potential for a radio play.It's clear that Charli XCX has a dance record to be released on June 7 and you should treat it like one.After all Charli XCX has built a name of her own among the music fans around the world and many will follow but not for a wider chart approval.

 Charli XCX is considered a pop idol with many fans around the world.I like her in general but she is far from being a pop princess in a true sense.However this year Charli XCX is going to release her sixth studio album called "Brat"."Von Dutch" marks Charli XCX’s first single since her Barbie contribution "Speed Drive" and my first impression hearing this dance industrial edm anthem doesn't find me agreed being this one the lead single.Does she keep the best songs for later?I really don't know but this one somehow creates a headache.

 That's an interesting collaboration that finally came out today.Charli XCX and Sam Smith released their first collaboration in the form of "In The City".The song is about finding the people you truly love and connect with through wild nights out and partying in magical places and that makes it a dance record.Although there were some hateful comments online about Sam Smith in her instagram announcement for this release which Charli condemned them "In The City" is a party song and music should be a celebration in every way.Let's put this on loudly and ride for the city partying...You never know what tomorrow brings cause these are difficult times..

 This is the third single from the upcoming new album by Charli XCX called "Crash" out March 18.And although Charli is making good pop songs the receive is still lukewarm. I guess all it's missing is the virality through a social media like Tik Tok or the streaming factor and the radio plays. While she is building up her profile in the world of pop "Beg For You" is another nice single with Rina Sawayama joining on vocals and a british two step rhythm along this release.The song was produced by Digital Dog Animals and contains a sample from December's "Cry For You" in case it sounds a little familiar to you.

 Girl power in the new Charli XCX single just before the arrival of her album "Crash".  Another huge hit for Joel Corry & Jax Jones since "Out Out" is heading for the Uk Top 5 today. The Uk chart will find Ed Sheeran's "Shivers" at the top of the spot once again and sir Elton John with Dua Lipa threating to dethrone him next week since it's the best selling single this week but with not so much streaming. This is the first remix of "Out Out" by Joel Corry himself and i guess others will follow very soon. The original here remains the best version so far...

 She is currently appearing in the latest Joel Corry single which is going to be a hit very shortly. I don't know how much this will help Charli XCX in her personal career but she is worth it. Her new single will be released next month but Sound Fist has it and reccomends to hear it. You will find it at the Sound Fist Facebook page in full and hopefully will be get what it deserves. People like Charli XCX makes pop sound better...
