CHARLIE PUTH ft MICHAEL McDONALD & KENNY LOGGINS - LOVE IN EXILE

 "We Don't Talk Anymore" but "we don't make any more hits" singer Charlie Puth before the release of his brand new album had released several singles but i didn't post anything so far.Not because he is not a chart visitor neither because the songs were bad. It's because i always considered him a great talent and his releases were under my expectations.But his fourth studio album, "Whatever's Clever!" was released this week and is full of collaborations.Kenny G, Ravyn Lenae,Hikaru Utada,Jeff Goldblum and these guys over here are good reasons to give it a listen.Where do i start from Doobie Brothers singer and exceptional voice Michael McDonald with tons of hits or hitmaker Kenny Loggins with iconic classics from Footloose and Top Gun.Having both of them on "Love In Exile" is such an honor for Charlie Puth.With a sound that comes straight from early 80s productions this is such a time capsule.

CHARLIE PUTH - CHANGES

 Charlie Puth knows exactly the creation of sounds as far as i can tell from his social media videos.He has the gift of making music on his own but after an excellent start in his career a music "flat tyre" emerged blocking his way up.If this new return doesn't work then things will be really difficult for him at least as a pop singer because composing is a whole different field.The first single from his upcoming album next March is an eighties pop delight that might work."Changes" reminds Commodore's "Nightshift" production and a whole bunch other 80s gems and that alone makes it really interesting to me.Prickly guitar lines, glossy keys, gated snares and a booming choir to help is the biggest weapons of the song while the biggest "change" in Charlie Puth's life is going to be parenthood.

STRAY KIDS ft CHARLIE PUTH - LOSE MY BREATH

 The need for BTS in the music industry have created a tons of boy and girl groups in Korea with anime-like appearence dancing and singing trying to replace the space they have left.Stray Kids are an example of this mimic-trending boy bands trying to built a career that's why they teamed up with Charlie Puth for their brand new release "Lose My Breath".There is a big controversy over this release cause Charlie Puth is considered Zionist and rape apologist and i m very surprised it was released finally.Let's leave politics out of this conversation cause music unites and let's stick to the fact that there is nothing impressive here unless you are a fan.

 If every member of BTS after their hiatus is up for a solo career then we will have a new release almost every month with these guys.You know that i was a fan of Charlie Puth but for almost a year now i find no interest in his releases. I m not a fan of BTS either and even i am supposed to write down only infos this blog speaks it's mind.I can't get related with "Left & Right" i m sorry.And if this song will get a chart success because of Jung Kook one of the members of BTS then it will be only temporarily cause this song doesn't stand the test of time (my opinion).

 To tell you the truth i m disappointed lately by Charlie Puth. I had the impression that he was an extrordinary songwriter but his singles proves me wrong lately."Light Switch" was an ok single nothing special but his brand new fails to get in touch with me."That's Hilarious" could give me a punchline but i won't use it out of respect.I think he still got it but it's hidden somewhere and he can do so much better than that.

 Too early for a remix in Charlie Puth's new single and this one comes from Tiesto. Does this mean that there are an army of remixes for "Light Switch"?. Anyway Tiesto decided to "burn" it with hard edm sounds so i m not very fond with the outcome. Also these few days it has been released "Light Switch" doesn't show signs of becoming a hit and more soon than enough i guess he will go on releasing a new one. Maybe Elton John was right when he told him that his music wasn't good enough lately...

CHARLIE PUTH - LIGHT SWITCH

 One of the most anticipated returns in 2022 is the one from Charlie Puth. The multitalented Puth may not had a big hit on his own but don't forget that he wrote Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber's "Stay" one of the biggest hits last year that continue to reign. It seems that this 80's beat that "Blinding Lights" introduced again to music the one that "Stay" used and also "Overpass Graffiti" by Ed Sheeran it is found once again in "Light Switch". And don't forget everything started with A-hA's "Take On Me". It takes more than one listen to estimate the song and i think it will get better each time we hear it. I don't think though that this is a big hit or an instant hit but it will play a lesser part in the charts...

 This is the second treat from the new Elton John album "The Lockdown Sessions" this time with Charlie Puth on board. The talented young artist has slowed down lately even though he is very talented. He is honoured by sir Elton with this collaboration called "After All". I m not sure yet if this is going to be the next single John will promote from his album cause is very adult and not an obvious hit. You can't expect from Elton John a composition with 5 notes as many hits uses these days or a dance anthem as an original sound. This Elton John people on of the greatest composers of all time..

GABBY BARRETT ft CHARLIE PUTH - I HOPE

 Όπως θα ανακοινώσει σήμερα το Billboard η country τραγουδίστρια Gabby Barrett μαζί με τον Charlie Puth θα βρεθεί στο νούμερο 3 του καταλόγου επιτυχιών κάνοντας έτσι την μεγαλύτερη επιτυχία της και άλλη μία για τον Puth. Η κορυφή δεν απέχει μακριά την οποία εξακολουθεί να κατέχει το "Mood" αλλά για πόσο ακόμα; Το "I Hope" δεν ανήκει με την στενή έννοια του όρου στην country αλλά περισσότερο στην pop και απ ότι φαίνεται αρέσει πολύ. Άλλωστε δεν είναι λίγοι οι καλλιτέχνες της country που έχουν ιδιαίτερη απήχηση στο USA και μόνο εξ αιτίας του χαμηλού streaming σε σχέση με την rap δεν έχει περισσότερες επιτυχίες μέσα στο Top 10. To τραγούδι πάντως το οποίο δεν του είχα δώσει ιδιαίτερη σημασία όσο το ακούω τόσο πιο πολύ μ αρέσει..

CHARLIE PUTH - GIRLFRIEND

Όπως θα παρατηρήσετε και σε αυτή την νέα κυκλοφορία η στροφή προς τα 80's είναι όλο και περισσότερο εμφανής. Όλο και περισσότεροι καλλιτέχνες δοκιμάζουν τις ρίζες της pop γιατί και καλύτερα τραγούδια φτιάχνουν και περισσότερο είναι πιθανόν να γνωρίσουν την επιτυχία στα charts. O Charlie Puth είναι αναμφισβήτητα ένας pop δημιουργός με soul προεκτάσεις και τα φαλτσέτα στο "Girlfriend"  μπορούν να συνδεθούν από Prince μέχρι George Michael. Εκ πρώτης άποψης είμαι θετικός απέναντι στο άκουσμα και θα περιμένω να δω πόσο καλύτερο ή χειρότερο θα γίνει με τα ακούσματα...

Τον Charlie Puth τον θεωρώ ιδιαίτερα ταλαντούχο και δεν είναι τυχαίο που τα τραγούδια του έχουν κάνει επιτυχία και στην χώρα μας. Τα σχέδια του για το 2019 είναι να κυκλοφορήσει στο άμεσο χρονικό διάστημα 3 νέα τραγούδια το πρώτο εκ των οποίων είναι το "I Warned Myself". To επιβλητικό slowbeat bassline είναι το βασικό χαρακτηριστικό του που μου αρέσει. Μ αρέσει που μου βάζει στο μυαλό την μουσική του και ας μην είναι το super wow single..

Το "Done For Me" έχω ξαναγράψει ότι είναι από τα καλά singles του Charlie Puth μέσα από το νέο του album δινοντας μπόνους και στην Kehlani η οποία ετοιμάζεται για big pop star στο μέλλον. Ο λόγος που με επιστρέφω σε αυτό είναι το πολύ καλό remix που του έκαναν οι Loud Luxxury οι οποίοι έχουν ένα σερί από πολύ επιτυχημένα τέτοια στο παρελθόν με αποτέλεσμα να τους έχω φιλοξενήσει πολλάκις. Ο συνδυασμός όλων αυτών είναι ότι πρέπει για dance mood...

CHARLIE PUTH ft KEHLANI - DONE FOR ME (SYN COLE REMIX)

Το album του Charlie Puth συνεχίζει να βγάζει singles χωρίς την επιτυχία που θα περίμενε αν και αυτό δεν συνδέεται άμεσα με το πόσο καλά τραγούδια είναι. Το ύφος των singles ήταν αρκετά adult κατά την γνώμη μου για να βρει απήχηση στα pop νεανικά ραδιόφωνα που απογειώνουν τις επιτυχίες. Από την άλλη την Kehlani να την περιμένετε για το μέλλον στην θέση της Camila Cabello αφού το μόνο που χρειάζεται είναι ένα major hit για να κάνει το μπαμ και το οποίο αργά ή γρήγορα θα έρθει. Το remix του Syn Cole στο "Done For Me" δίνει μία χορευτική διάθεση σε ένα τραγούδι που στην original version μ αρέσει ούτως ή άλλως...

Εν αναμονή του νέου του album μέσα από το οποίο έχουν βγει ήδη αρκετά singles ο Charlie Puth χτίζει μια καριέρα με βάση το ταλέντο του χωρίς να ξεπουλιέται στην pop βιομηχανία επιλέγοντας τραγούδια που έχουν κατά βάση την soul αλλά με αποχρώσεις pop και όποιου του αρέσει. Το "Done For Me" κινείται στο ύφος των προηγούμενων single του είναι λιγότερο πιασάρικο κατά την γνώμη μου αλλά δεν παύει να είναι ένα αξιοπρεπές τραγούδι...

Νομίζω πως το νέο single του Charlie Puth με τους Boyz II Men είναι μία κακή επιλογή και ίσως να απευθύνεται σε μία συγκεκριμένη μερίδα κοινού πράγμα που πρακτικά δεν θα τον ωφελήσει κάπου. Ωστόσο το "How Long" ειναι κάτι που ακούγεται ίσως όχι όσο θα έπρεπε ή μήπως όχι; Επειδή το blog δεν παρουσιάζει μόνο νέα τραγούδια αλλά και επιτυχίες μικρές ή μεγάλες σε κάποιες άλλες εκτελέσεις που μπορεί να κάνουν ένα διαφορετικό κλικ αυτό το remix στο δεύτερο single του Charlie Puth από το επερχόμενο album του θα μειώσει τον χρόνο προσμονής του..

CHARLIE PUTH ft BOYZ II MEN - IF YOU LEAVE ME NOW

Τρίτο single για τον Charlie Puth μέσα από το επερχόμενο "Voicenotes" album του και είναι μία μπαλάντα παλιάς κοπής και μάλιστα μετά από πολύ καιρό αν εξαιρέσεις αυτά που κάνουν οι Pentatonix χωρίς μουσικά όργανα αλλά με τις υπέροχες φωνές των Boyz II Men. Κάποτε αυτά τα acapela χωρίς μουσικά όργανα ήταν ιδιαίτερα δημοφιλή με μεγαλύτερη επιτυχία αν δεν απατώμαι να είναι το "Don't Worry Be Happy" του Bobby McFerrin. Όσο και αν προσπάθησε ο Charlie Puth να φτιάξει κάτι που να θυμίζει το "End Of The Road" που είναι και η μεγαλύτερη επιτυχία των Boyz II Men δεν νομίζω ότι τα κατάφερε χωρίς αυτό να σημαίνει πως το όλο στήσιμο δεν είναι εξαιρετικό. Απλά μου λείπει κάτι στο "If You Leave Me Now" που το κάνει δεύτερης ταχύτητας...

CHARLIE PUTH - HOW LONG (THROTTLE REMIX)

Το καλό με τα τραγούδια του Charlie Puth είναι πως μπορεί να μην κάνουν άμεσα πολύ μεγάλη εντύπωση με τον καιρό όμως καταφέρνουν να σε "αρπάξουν" και να γίνουν από τα αγαπημένα σου χωρίς να το καταλάβεις καν. Το ίδιο συνέβη με το "Attention" που του πήρε αρκετούς μήνες το ίδιο θα συμβεί και με το "How Long" το οποίο έχει μια σταθερή ανοδική πορεία στα charts. Πριν μερικές μέρες κυκλοφόρησε ένα remix με guest στο rap μέρος τον μαιντανό της εποχής που ονομάζεται French Montana αλλά εγώ θα σας προτείνω το remix του Throttle το οποίο θα σας βάλει σε ένα dance mood μέρα που είναι σήμερα...

Λοιπόν αυτό είναι το πρώτο post με τους νέους κανόνες και την κλειστή ομάδα του facebook όπου εκεί θα βρίσκετε τα "καλούδια" του αποκλειστικά και μόνο για τα μέλη του (ΔΙΑΔΩΣΤΕ)!!! Οπότε η ογδόη μέρα του Οκτώβρη είναι η μέρα γενεθλίων του νέου blog.
To blog είναι ακόμα υπό διαμόρφωση οπότε δεν έχει την τελική του μορφή αλλά θεώρησα σαν προτεραιότητα να ξεκινήσουν τα posts να χτιστεί από την αρχή η σχέση με αυτούς που με παρακολουθούσαν αλλά και να αποκτήσει νέους φίλους. Τα υπόλοιπα θα τα βλέπετε σιγά σιγά...
Αποφάσισα το πρώτο post να αφορά έναν καλλιτέχνη που μου αρέσει πολύ και ο οποίος ετοιμάζεται να κυκλοφορήσει νέα δουλειά που θα έχει τον τίτλο "Voicenotes" το οποίο μετράει ήδη μία επιτυχία το "Attention" το οποίο κέρδισε τελικά το κοινό και τα charts αργά αλλά σταθερά. Το νέο του single είναι εξίσου καλό και νομίζω ότι θα κάνει ανάλογη πορεία. Η funky του διάθεση καλύπτει το κενό που λέγεται Justin Timberlake και είναι μία νότα που χρειάζεται η pop...
