 I don't need to hear the rest of the new releases this week in order to assume that the brand new Lykke Li single is one of the best maybe for the whole month.Don't expect new releases from big names this week but sometimes good songs comes from places you least expected.On May the Swedish songstress will release her brand new album "The Afterparty" and "Lucky Again" serves as the first single.When a song from the very first moment grabs you and keeps you captivated all through till end then you know you got a e favourite.Not to mention that "Lucky Again" could be a radio trend instanlyunless you got a bad taste i music.

 Illenium is a quite big name mostly in the Usa even though dance music is one of the less popular genres in the country.His sixth studio album "Odyssey" has been released and this pairing with Ellie Goulding has been released as a single.The album features moody melodic house, rock fusion, drum n bass, and his classic, cathartic melodic bass.The album is full with collaborations with names such as with Alna, Alok, Bastille, Bring Me The Horizon, Dabin, Dean Lewis, Elley Duhé, Emmy, Hayla, Kid Cudi to name few."Don't Want Your Love" is a rather trance radio friendly jam that could really work if it was given a chance.

MT JONES - I DON'T UNDERSTAND

 I do understand and i also know that there is plenty of good music out there but it's difficult to reach our ears unless you search music like i do.For instance "I Don't Understand" by MT Jones is a song that  blends the warmth of 60s and 70s soul with a contemporary garnish and a jazzy undercurrent.The song is taken from MT Jones upcoming album "Joy" out in March proving that there are still artists out there who made music like they used to.An MT Jones gem and a feel good Brit soul at its best.

 After last night's Super Bowl Bad Bunny - mania is at it's peak and will last for two or three more days with many of his singles topping the charts around the world.That's what happens every year and it's only natural caused by the event.And as we are waiting for this tsunami to stop i will take you to this French Guy who calls himself Sound Of Legend known for his 80s/90s dance cover versions.This time together with Siks on vocals he brings back Desireless's 1989 mega European hit "Voyage Voyage" that even today still sounds great.This music project visibly represented by the masked superhero character named Zach, has over 600 million streams, focusing on radio-friendly, hook-heavy, and club-oriented remixes and it's very successful in France.Can't resist it really...

 It's very difficult many times to make a true estimate on a single unless you let time to work on it. So at first i m not too enthusiastic nor disappointed on the new Sombr single.What i felt with "Undressed" from the very first moment didn't happen here.That doesn't change the fact that i think he is very talented and "Homewrecker" might prove me wrong (well sort of).This is his first new song and music video of the year and it explores the messiness of love, especially when you love someone who isn’t yours.His European tour is already sold out while once again, SOMBR is the sole writer and co-producer of his latest song, underscoring the weight of this talent. In addition to his Best New Artist GRAMMY nomination, he’s currently up for two prestigious BRIT Awards: International Artist of the Year, and International Song of the Year for "Undressed".

 At first look it's another bizzare collaboration but in dance music anything can happen even Calvin Harris inviting the Kasabian for his new single.The Scotish dj and producer has the access to bring on abyone providing the vocals for a new single and this join single is likely more a surprise for the Kasabian.Dancing is one way to "Release The Pressure" and after hearing the song it will probably work.I won't call it a banger yet but sounds like it can very well be.Calvin Harris needs his first hit in 2026 and this is a good choice for finding it.

The Grammys were given last night with Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga among the big winners of the night.It's funny how the music industry treat music today but that's just how things work these days.The "Aperture" declimax came sooner that i thought but it was expected for such a not a good choice.The other thing that's interesting is that more and more music from the past is getting once more an attention like Zara Larsson's "Lush Life" even "Boys Don't Cry" by The Cure.

On the other hand there is quite a lot of new music out there by new artists that are ready to hatch but all it takes is the right condition.For instance Billy Reekie, a singer-songwriter from Scotland, has been sharing his musical talents since the young age of 9.His latest single "When You Were Mine" has this 60s aroma all over it that reminds Stephen Sanchez's "Until I Found You" in a lot of ways that makes it attractive to my ears.What about yours?

 Making a global hit doesn't mean that you will stay as a pop star for long unless you repeat it (more than once).And John Newman although he is a great voice didn't..In order to come back on the charts he decided to re-record his number one hit "Love Me Again" in a new version that has a more dance appeal from the one released back in 2013.I m not sure if this the right choice for him recycling something that is alreadya classic but the song is already so good that djs might re-introduce it to a new generation that is not too far anyway and hopefully it will work out for him.

 One of the least places to find new music is the Billboard charts and that's a very sad situation since the USA has always been the tank for worldwide hits.Now apart country music and the Christian and Gospel genre going stronger day by day it's hard to find even rap artists climbing up the charts.With a surprise Pharrell produced single T.I returns with a soon to be top 10 single "Let Em Know".This is his first single since 2021's "Fuck Em" and it  will appear on T.I.'s new album, "Kill the King". Pharrell's beat is exactly what heneeded: bouncy, heavy bass, with driving chords reminiscent of old TI classics like "Rubberband Man." The rhythm gets you moving immediately, while TI flows with confidence, talking about success, money that "blows fast". Just as fast as "Let Em Know" becomes huge...

 Mercury Prize winner Arlo Parks announces the release of her fourth studio album, "Ambiguous Desire"  marking a new chapter in her artistic evolution.She has already built a name of her own especially in the Uk and all she needs is a global hit at some point just like Olivia Dean made the last few months.The album was inspired by nights, dance and desire in New York and the first single "2Sided" is the perfect ambassador.The song focuses on the fine line between attraction and uncertainty and speaks about the moment when desire becomes so intense that it demands to be spoken out loud, to take shape and meaning through words.One of the best new releases this week that demands to spread out as much as it can.

With Bruno Mars eyeing another number one single on Billboard and Dave with Tems grabbing the Uk number one next week (?) music never stops producing good singles, hits sometimes indifferent and sometimes classics and a lot of underrated songs only to be discovered sometime in the future.The new Hilary Duff single from her upcoming "Luck....Or Something" album sounds a lot like Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter and every other alternative or not pop artist that make their way on radios and charts."Luck …or Somethin", out Feb. 20 marks Duff’s first new album since 2015’s "Breathe In. Breathe Out".

HANNAH BOLEYN - TEARDROP (FRICTION & SUBSONIC REMIX)

 And right before the electronic ink dry Hannah Boleyn's last November cover on Massive Attack's "Teardrop" gets a second chance with this drum n bass remix by Friction and Subsonic.Last Thursday i mentioned the song when her Claptone collaboration released and it's another proof of good songs don't often get their chance to glow.Maybe this remix will give this cover version the best by far in 2025 the spread out it deserves.Hannah Boleyn has captured my attention this year and hopefully she will make a hit.

DOLLY PARTON ft LAINEY WILSON, MILEY CYRUS, QUEEN LATIFAH, REBA McENTIRE - LIGHT OF A CLEAR BLUE MORNING

 Living country legend Dolly Parton deserves any respect no matter what kind of music you like.Celebrating her 80th birthday she released a new rendition of her classic "Light of a Clear Blue Morning" released 50 years ago. Lainey Wilson, Miley Cyrus, Queen Latifah and Reba McEntire are featured on this all star new version which serves as a charity single for Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. The single and music video, which also features David Foster on piano and The Christ Church Choir on backing vocals is already at the highest itunes chart positions both in USA and in the Uk. This recording reimagines the song with a message of spreading love and hope and she deserves not only a happy birthday but our respect.

 Nathassia is a Dutch electronic music artist, DJ, singer and songwriter and she is currently on a trending mode in the Uk.With dj support from the biggest djs in the world "Perfect Harmony" is on the edge of becoming a new big dance hit.She has already won her a global fanbase, with over 10 million weekly listeners on her radio show Goddess Is A DJ, with full support from the biggest names in dance music plus main room live sets at some of world’s super clubs like Eden, F38 & The Ministry of Sound.It seems that staring at the night sky at "Perfect Harmony" will be added by a dance anthem with a potential for everybody dance to it next summer.

CHARLI XCX - WALL OF SOUND

 Her effort for the "Wuthering Heights" ost showed a different aspect of Charli XCX's musical destination and if the movie was among the ones for the Oscar race she could also get a nomination which is not possible but we have to wait a little longer. Her new single "Wall of Sound " is the third one released from the soundtrack following the singles "House" a collaboration with John Cale, and  "Chains of Love".The track unfolds slowly, built on electronically processed strings, autotune and repetitive vocal lines, creating an introspective and melancholic atmosphere, where tension and repetition dominate.Now that she is a star a chart appearence is very possible.

GORILLAZ ft BIZARRAP, KARA JACKSON & ANOUSHKA SHANKAR - ORANGE COUNTY

 I m not the biggest Gorillaz fan but when they have a good single i say it.In fact Gorillaz have dropped two new singles, "The Hardest Thing" and "Orange County", which feature collaborations from Bizarrap, Kara Jackson and Anoushka Shankar.These are also gonna be featured on their forthcoming album, "The Mountain", which is set for release on February 27."Orange County" has this uplifting and optimistic approach that really drew my attention with Kara Jackson on vocals, and by 14-time Grammy-nominated sitar player Anoushka Shankar.This is a nice one...

GHOST - IT'S A SIN

 Covers continue in 2026 and they will since especially the 80s still have huge impact."It's a Sin" is a cover of the song by Pet Shop Boys that was included on the Deluxe Edition of the album "Prequelle" by the Swedish band Ghost. Being a bonus track, it was not originally available on any streaming and was limited availability of the song physically.Now every Ghost fan can grab their hands on this metal cover of an iconic 80s song and although i m not really impressed cause they have made better covers in the past this is an interesting new release this week.Ghost previously released a covers EP called :Phantomime" in 2023 including renditions of songs by Iron Maiden, Genesis and Tina Turner, among others.

CLAPTONE, HANNAH BOLEYN - BLACK & GOLD

 This pair is hard to beat and the result is one of the best (so far) new releases in dance music this week.Claptone needs no introduction a regular visitor on my blog.On the other hand Hannah Boleyn keeps rising with one great tune after another. With multiple collaborations with names like John Summit, Billie Gillies, D.O.D and one of the best cover version last year on "Teardrops" i was expecting "Black & Gold" being just as good as it is.This is propably going to be overlooked by the charts but do a favour in your playlist and add it.Both radio friendly and mainstream is a combination you can't ignore..

CHVRCHES - ADDICTED TO LOVE

 We all are aware of what impact have the tv series in music with the latest being the one "Stranger Things" had with multiple classic singles entering the charts once again.How about a cover bersion this time....Hulu released the first three episodes from "Tell Me Lies" season 3 on Jan. 13 and on episode one the closing song is a cover version of Ropert Palmer's "Addicted To Love" by the CHVRHES. Now cover versions are often sound very close to the original and sometimes nothing like them.This one is a totally different sound and the only thing that reminds it are the lyrics.CHVRCHES made this haunting version of the song which is so addictive that immediately created an impact in my playlist.Fans of "Tell Me Lies" are also impressed as all music lovers should.Once again the 80s are here....

MAX STYLER ,THREE DRIVES - GREECE 2000 (MAX STYLER REWORK)

 Max Styler is among the djs to look up to in 2026 and this rework is a proof of what to expect from him this year.Blending the classic's melodic elements with rolling basslines and a 303-inspired drop, this rework has already been met with heavy support from the biggest names in the dance world.The original released by the Dutch duo Three Drives back in 1997 is considered already a classic dance anthem that it will continue to inspire future djs making their own updates of this great dance anthem.

After a string of no so interesting releases by Kungs he returns in 2026 with a must hear disco anthem. French electronic music star Kungs released his latest single "Galaxy" featuring Theophilus London, a track that signals an exciting new chapter in his evolving sound.The track sounds more like a Purple Disco Machine production which immediately grabs you and puts you in a repeat mode.A fresh sonic territory on "Galaxy", blending groove-driven disco dancefloor momentum with soulful vocalos by Theophilus London.His eclectic Brooklyn spirit, resulting in a fluid electronic cut that feels both polished and adventurous.This is the first taste from Kungs upcoming album "Out Loud" set for release on March 13.In my playlist for sure...
