RAYE - BEWARE...THE SOUTH LONDON LOVER BOY

 I just finished listening the new Raye album "This Music May Contain Hope" and in my early opinion unfortunately there is "no hope" for this project other than some good critics for the artistic vision of hers.This is more a "Broadway" album with touches of soul music and some blues elements.In other words this is a rather difficult album for the mainstream audience and unless she is keeping some easy radio play songs 'Where The Hell Is My Husband" will be probably the only reason for someone to buy this album. Perhaps the only other one may be "Beware..The South London Lover Boy" which sounds like an Amy Winehouse-Mark Ronson production and has some potential for charting high.Moving fast forward for Raye from this album will be a smart choice for her.

JUNGLE - CARRY ON

 Jungle are priceless when it comes to good dance music with artistic extentions that fulfill variety of tastes and textures.Well the group have announced their fifth album, "Sunshine", and shared the new single "Carry On" which feels like a cool summer breeze on a hot day.This is a unique brand of summery neo-soul to new heights and one of the best new releases this month.Their signature angelic harmonies over a buoyant bed of breezy percussion forced me to induct it on my playlist and become one of my favourite summer songs.

Dna remembers especially when it gets in touch with tunes that shaped the inner taste in music.Shaggy is a legend on his own when it comes to reggae and dancehall with decades making music.Robin Thicke is a one hit wonder who tries to keep his contract in music and maybe create a comeback.Shaggy's brand new single "Looking Lovely" uses as base Bill Wither's iconic "Lovely Day" from 1977 and will be a part of his brand new album "Lottery" which is expected to be released on May 15.This is a highly rhythmic and enjoyable song that exudes positive energy and summer vibes.I would take it with me this summer so why don't you try it...

NIALL HORAN - DINNER PARTY

 You have an invitation to a "Dinner Party" with host ex New Direction Niall Horan.He is the only other member apart from Harry Styles who gathers a certain spotlight in music business.His brand new album by the same name will be out on June 5 and the title song that serves as his new single is kinda not bothering cute and easy radio playlisting.In other words this is probably his best single ever since he went solo and a chart appearence in the Uk is most certain if you ask me.Not to mention that if somehow is on repeat it gains more and more cuteness.In a weak week as i mentioned this one sounds ok to pick.

MUSE - BE WITH YOU

 Code name 6EQUJ5 referring to the famous Wow! signal of 1977  an enigmatic radio signal recorded by the Big Ear telescope in Ohio and to this day sparks debate about its origin also signals Muse return with their brand new single "Be With You". "The Wow! Signal" is also the name of the band's brand new album which is expected to be released on June 26th. "Be With You" explore more emotional and experimental forms with a more atmospheric and melancholic sound, different from the intense rock riffs that often characterize Muse.This is the major rock release this week which gathers the most interest for sure.

 Since it's Saturday night and for some of you it's time for dance music my pick comes from a duo that served dance music in many forms.Since the mid-90s they’ve been soundtracking dancefloors around the globe with their high energy blends of house, funk, and club anthems.Their latest track is "Love's Theme" and it may not be massive or a gloval dance anthem but it feels so good every time it runs through my speakers.Djs with taste and possible some radios may feel the needed urge to play this as often as it should.

TAKE THAT - YOU 'RE A SUPERSTAR

 From what i have heard so far this is a weak week concerning the new releases when it comes to the quality and the ability for some of these songs to gain immortality.So don't blame the blogger for what he writes or what he review cause he is picking the most interesting.Right after the new BTS release i see these guys that they used to be in the BTS position back in the late 80s and 90s and in a way this is what is going to happen to the South Korean group also.But if they manage to stay so many decades some of them still making music that will be an achievement.Gary, Howard and Mark have released a brand new song over the end credits of their recent three-part documentary series on Netflix.This choice was no coincidence, as the band wanted to offer an unexpected but pleasant surprise to their fans, connecting their music with a more personal and revealing television narrative."You're A Superstar" will also be part of the band's upcoming album , which will be the first since 2023's "This Life".This is an adult classic pop song by the group that will add more content to their rich catalog.

BTS - SWIM

 We have a saying in my country after you finish with your military obligations.It goes "good citizens" so we wish BTS a long and lasting new career in global music industry.The phenomenon is back with their fifth studio album "ARIRANG" featuring 14 tracks with "Swim" being the first single.The huge comeback after 4 years is one of the most anticipated comebacks in music history and as expected from the very first moments all of the songs from the album are trending.I will overlook that what i hear on "Swim" comes from BTS and my feeling is that the song is really nothing special.It has the needed radio play quality but i m not going to "swim" with it this summer.The fact that the song will be number one all over the world next week doesn't change the fact that this is not their best release so far.Sorry guys...

 Loreen keeps releasing singles from her upcoming album and "Coming Close" is the latest treat.The song was teased and performed during her 2025 tour so some of you may be familiar with the sound which is a typical Loreen sound.This and the already known songs will be your reasons (if they are good enough) to buy her new album but once more this is not a strong reason to win radios or become a chart hit.It takes more than a typical effort or maybe an event like the upcoming Eurovision to convince media to play a weak or moderate if you wish song.Unless you are a big fan...

 Another single from Raye that will fail the charts.This one is even difficult to be played on the radio after "Nightnigale Lane" but this the cost when you are trying to make art.But when you have German mega film composer Hans Zimmer on your single a big "wow" is coming right out of your mouth."The Lion King", "Gladiator", "Dune", "Interstellar" are only few of the film scores we are all familiar with and making pop music was his early career since he was a member along with Trevor Horn of the group Buggles who released the classic "Video Killed The Radio Star"!!!I don't think i want to write anything more for "Click Clack Symphony" and let's just hope it won't contain any more experimental stuff from Raye.

 With country music and Ella Langley ruling the Hot 100 in the USA not easily i m pursued to blog a country song unless it has something unique.Since Rag N Bone Man hadn't heard a baritone voice like this guy here.Tik Tok is the reason for the spread of "When I Stand" due to the lyrics and his captivating voice.Once again nobody really knows who this guy is and if the song as expected fly high in both sides of the Atlantic for start then probably we will know more about this "beast".The song has a beautiful melody with the simplicity and the powerful lyrics forcing you to keep listening all through till it ends and then repeat it again.Some songs have this magical thing....

Sienna Spiro a hybrid between Adele and Lana Del Rey is ready to dominate the charts and the hearts that started with "Die On This Hill" and will expand with her brand new single."The Visitor" not only going to be the highest new entry next week on the Uk chart but it also mark her first ever US tour which is already sold out.This piano ballad is what best describes her music and probably will be memorized in decades to come.

 Another artist who is worth listening to cause every song she releases has a special magic in it is Charlotte Cardin.  Lykke Li's return last month with "Lucky Again" gave us one of the best singles of 2026 so far but was totally ignored to my surprise.That was a "Knife To The Heart" when i see good music going to waste without a really good reason.The sad thing is that her upcoming album "The Afterparty" will be her last one according to her representatives.Her new song from indie pop fixture is a waterfall of whistles, claps, bongoes, and sprawling EBow textures. It's lush and anthemic.Once again this one will be added to my playlist and i think you should do the same if you want your daily soundtrack is worth listening to.

 Steve Carrell's new HBO college dramedy "The Rooster" can be praised cause the theme song brings back REM's frontman Michael Stipe with a brand new song that is actually awesome.Along with mucisian and producer Andrew Watt a three-time Grammy Award winner they released "I Played The Fool" while Blink-182's Travis Barker is on drums and former Red Hot Chili Pepper Josh Klinghoffer on guitar. Stipe’s unmistakable vocals are paired with Watt’s bold contemporary production and the result is a super radio friendly outcome that few decades ago would be a huge hit.There are some rumours that Stipe is secretely recording a solo album and they better be true cause music needs Michael Stipe in action either way.

MIKE POSNER - I WENT BACK TO IBIZA

Due to Harry Styles new album at least 2 singles from his new album will be present at Uk's top 10 with "American Girls" aiming for the number one spot.But things are tight with Bella Key and Olivia Dean having strong posibillities to stop him. On the other hand there are multiple new releases this week with this one being a surprise after all these years.

When he first went to Ibiza he took a pill and lived a wild party cause being young is part of doing lot's of crazy stuff. But as life moves on things change and in 2026 Mike Posner re-creates his smash hit into "I Went Back In Ibiza" but in a mature way. Instead of the laidback electornic vibe of the original, Posner’s new track is layered over an acoustic guitar, light drum kit, and some external players on the keys and harmonica. Throughout, he sings about his own rise to fame and personal demons, revealing how he almost died twice, but ‘I’m here for a reason.’ He also keeps Avicii’s name in the lyrics, mourning the loss of the iconic producer as a sign of how things have changed. Instead of chasing the lifestyle, he is poised towards a peaceful life outside of the spotlight. It is a powerful and somber response to his earlier hit, but it speaks to the honesty and integrity that helped Mike Posner first connect with so many fans a decade ago.

 This is one of the rare times Depeche Mode are making a cover and this one is for the needs of charity compilation "HELP(2)" by War Child Records."Universal Soldier" is a song written by singer-songwriter Buffy Sainte-Marie who is best known for the Academy Award-winning song "Up Where We Belong" . The first released recording was a single by The Highwaymen, released in September 1963.The song was also released on Sainte-Marie's debut album It's My Way!, in April 1964. "Universal Soldier" was not an immediate popular hit at the time of its release, but it did garner attention within the contemporary folk music community. It became a hit in 1965 when Donovan covered it on his EP of the same name, also charting for Glen Campbell that same year. Dave Gahan and Martin Gore have transformed this folk song into a dark, electrified menace.  One of the most anticipated new album of the year "Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally" by Harry Styles is in my ears and without knowing what the second single will be i choose this one as an obvious choice.The album has it's moments with at least 4 potential hits in it while "Aperture" after it's live performance at the Brits has an upgraded course."American Girls" is a mid tempo radio friendly jam that needs to be released as a single before his American leg of his upcoming tour. Thank god the album doesn't have many experimental sounds like "Aperture" which means it will be once more one of the most succesful albums of the year.Harry is back...

 Who's gonna save Jennifer Lopez career? The answer is simple and the name is David Guetta...Since the release of "On The Floor" Lopez never ever released such a commercial single such as this one.But times are not in pop dance favour and what it looks like it would be a global anthem once upon a time it's not a sure thing today.Take for example Guetta's "Gone Gone Gone" which never became a top 10 hit although is all over pop radios.Even so "Save Me Tonight" may have the same fate and god knows how refreshing that will be for JLO.The sound is typical Guetta the song is easily sing along and summer is sooner that you think.Guetta saves Lopez...

 And just like that old released songs like "Stateside" by PinkPantheress after quite sometime they become worldwide hits when nobody really expected to.But there are some more outsiders like Dominic Fike who should have a big hit with "Babydoll" which suddenly returns after more than 6 years making a second try in the UK.But not just that one."White Keys" a softer and more pop-forward song re-released after it's 2025 first entry is making it's way to the Uk top 40 expanding Fike's audience and fame.Artists like him have a special appeal lately and crossing the line to super star mucisians is just as thin as just one song.

This year's Brits are totally belong to Olivia Dean taking home four awards and with some great performances by Harry Styles, Rosalia and Mark Ronson that made the evening worth watching.

Now the reason i m posting maybe too many cover versions is because as i wrote before that they work like an education for music enthusiasts. And if this one by Bob Sinclar and Kiesza on vocals may make you search for the iconic original by Nu Shooz then it worths writing for.The year was 1985 when "I Can't Wait" was released and became one of my favourite 12 inch maxi singles in my collection.Of course i don't have to say that this cover version is far under the original version but still it's nice to see a beloved 80s anthem coming back even that way.

 Centuries back Leonardo Da Vinci created masterpieces in Italy so memorable that even today they are praised.In 2026 another Da Vinci is about to expose Italy's art to the world. Sal Da Vinci won the Sanremo 2026 title with the song "Per sempre sì" and he represent Italy at this year's Eurovision song contest.His real name is Salvatore Michael Sorrentino. He was born in the United States, obtaining citizenship through a work coincidence.The song is already all over radios in Italy creating a frenzy that will make it one of the biggest hits in his country and in some parts of Europe.The good old Italian style that made many songs from this country international hits is all over this one.I really like this one...

 I don't know which one will be the next single for Bruno Mars after "I Just Might" but "The Romantic" album is in my hands and i choose this one to be the follow up.The album has only nine tracks with a lot of latin influences and many soul blues vibes that are his favourites in his last released albums.Bruno Mars is an asset for music he will be praised as one of the greatest the next decades and pretty much he will stay forever cause his talent is extrordinary.The global "Romantic" tour is a not miss event which i wish i can experience if south east Europe is in his plans.As for "Something Serious" the Carlos Santana influence is all over it overheating the air with summer latin vibes.

 Ava Max returns in 2026 with a new song and a new label.She released "Kill It Queen" the first offering from her upcoming fourth album, due later this year.It's a self-empowerment anthem in a classic Max mold, a forceful pop tune that leans even harder into the towering sound of past singles.But in times where pure pop music even from divas like Lady Gaga is hard to penetrate the charts highest positions this one sounds like a weak effort in my ears.Fans will be pleased (probably) but i ve heard many better songs than this one every day.After two or three days it will fall in despair waiting the next (hopefully better) release from Ava.

 The surprise single this week can't be nothing else than this one.No one new that Olympic record man polevaulter Armand ‘Mondo’ Duplantis can really sing. His live television debut in Sweden with his latest single "Feelin’ Myself" became instantly viral not only because he can sing but because it's a truly catchy pop number.The bassline that ridiculously follows Foster The People "Pumped Up Kicks" doesn't bother me at all cause it really feels good when you press the play button.The breezy mid-tempo pop number sees Mondo showcase smooth vocals and maybe who knows a turn in his career after he is done making world records.
