I have been looking for this one for several weeks even if the band have released a brand new single this Friday. The Waterboys are a rock band formed in 1983 by Scottish musician and songwriter Mike Scott. The band's membership, past and present, has been composed mainly of musicians from Scotland, Ireland, Wales and England.During the 80's they have released some iconic tracks that gen-xers know pretty well like the ones of "The Whole Of The Moon" or "Return Of The Pan". During the years their fame or name may faded but their music not.Following the recent announcement of their new album "Life, Death And Dennis Hopper", out 4 April they released "Andy (A Guy Like You)" as a single last month. The most audacious Waterboys album yet, "Life, Death And Dennis Hopper" is the epic story of the trailblazing American actor and rebel told through a song cycle depicting not only Hopper’s story, but the saga of the last 75 years of western pop culture. The song describes the moment Andy Warhol drove across America to visit Dennis Hopper in L.A. and have his first exhibition. The track has a huge cinematic vibe with gloriously vibrant strings, upbeat percussion stamped with the trademark Waterboys stamp and i love it.
